Stopover on the way to Newhaven ferry.
Great little site. Good cycling country once you are off the-main roads.
Toilets clean and showers warm.
Owners were great emailed back quickly And you csn have a fire - they can supply wood kindling and fire pit.
Lovely countryside and views.
Great ferry stopover.
Went to ferry via Beachy head. Would recommend

Fabulous owners who really cared and so many little extras like fridge/freezers, tea towels, washing up liquids, fire pits & picnic benches.
Would definitely recommend this beautiful site with very well kept toilets, showers & washing up room, which were always clean.
Great access to the cuckoo trail for picturesque walks and cycle rides and a couple of recommended circular routes from the camp site for walking plus daily deliveries of logs, for those wanting them.
I can’t recommend this site enough, it was fabulous.

I can't say enough in support of this camp site.
Nicola and Steve were lovely, friendly, helpful and chatty. Floss the dog was the perfect play mate for our young daughter and was excellently behaved.
The toilets were immaculate, the showers hot and the wash up area clean.
There is loads of room for children to play and there are beautiful countryside walks nearby.
If you are looking for a little more adventure then Knockhatch and Drusillas are only a stones throw away.
I'd thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Excellent location, brilliant views of the Sussex countryside
Massive pitches
Great for families and facilities good, toilets, showers all nice and clean and there was even a fridge /freezer you had use of which was great,
Campfires encouraged, they supply fire pits and it doesn't feel like a rip off like is in some places, £5 and we got a load of logs a starter pack of kindling, newspaper, matches and fire lighers.
Would recommend and visit again

I stayed at Fontmills for a long weekend with my parter and another couple in September. We had a lovely stay and would return to this site.
The site entrance is on the A267 and we were arriving in the dark so we missed it and had to turn around and come back so keep your eyes peeled. I had called in advance to let the owners know we might be arriving late and they were very accommodating. I was worried it might be noisy but the road wasn't heard much once we were on the camping field. It was nice and peaceful.
The field is almost level (no field is perfectly flat and this is the closest I've come to level for a while!) The ground is really nice and smooth, no lumps or tussocks and grass mown short. Its an open, square field so no secluded little corners where you can feel like you've got the whole place to yourselves. There were only a few other units on at the same time as us though, so we had loads of space. We weren't on top of the neighbours, by any means.
The facilities are in the top corner of the field. They are brand new and kept spotlessly clean. There are two toilets and two showers. This was plenty while we were there and I never had to wait but that might be different if the site was full. It would depend how many people there were. The toilets are metal cabin style which pleased one of my fellow campers as wooden cubicles have more spiders, apparently! Each toilet has a sink with hot and cold water. I was impressed that the hot water came through instantly, which was nice on chilly September evenings. The showers are wooden and outdoor style but spacious and hot.
There is also a small open fronted shed with a hot and cold water sink for washing up and a large fridge/freezer. Its only really big enough for one or two people at a time but perfectly adequate. There is information about the local area etc, in there too.
There is nowhere except the washing up shed to wait for the toilet if its raining, but I never had to wait so not a problem for me.
The owners provide a nice little information pack outlining local walks, pubs etc. We had lunch at the May Garland, just a few minutes up the A267 from the site. The food was good. I wouldn't try to walk there up the main road though, there's no verge for most of it. There are lots of pubs to choose from though, and several within walking distance along footpaths.
Fire pits are provided and logs are available for £5 a bag. Steve will bring them round in the afternoon/evening. The bag was large (enough for a night) and the logs were dry. Plenty of good dry kindling was also provided, which is often overlooked on other sites. Some picnic benches are also provided which is a lovely little extra.
The owners are very friendly and helpful.
We didn't have any children with us, so can't really comment on child friendliness but there is space for running around and ball games in the field. No trees to climb and not much to explore in the field itself, but the surrounding area is good for walks etc. Floss, the farm dog seemed to be a big hit with the kids that were staying there while we were there.
Wildlife is a big part of camping for me and I was not disappointed by this site. I watched a buzzard feeding in the next field, heard Tawny Owls calling at night and even saw one one evening. I had my bat detector with me and there were some bats about, even on a chilly September evening.
Overall, a great little spot, well looked after and in a great location for exploring Sussex. The Farm is right next to the Cuckoo trail and there are other footpaths around too, so you can walk from the site. There's lots going on in the local area, so if you want to take the car out and explore further afield there's something for most people. We just stayed on site having barbecues and campfires most of the time though, a very relaxing weekend.

We had a wonderful stay here at Fontmills Farm Campsite. Set in the beautiful South Downs with the Cuckoo Trail on your doorstep and plenty of local villages, pubs and shops.
We had mixed weather; gloriously sunny, windy and wet and whilst of course we preferred the sun it was manageable in the rain. Somehow Nicola and Steve managed to keep the toilets, showers and kitchen area very clean. There were about 6 other families camping plus a wedding party and as pitches are of a significant size you don't feel 'hemmed in' at all. If it's peace and quiet, time out of the madness of London or other large bustling city then Font Mills Farm Campsite is for you. Enjoy!
Plenty of logs and eggs were a bonus as was the information shared by Nicola and Steve who manage to be available and helpful whilst running a working farm.
We have stayed at lots of campsites and would certainly put Fontmills in our top five. We look forward to visiting again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. This was my first time camping and I tremendously enjoyed the fact that the campsite was located in the countryside, far from any traffic noise or disturbance.
The owners are very friendly and helped us settle, as well as gave us many suggestions about what to do in the region. For hikers, the Cuckoo Trail is a beautiful and relaxing walk in nature.
The pitches aren't electric, unfortunately, but that didn't deteriorate our feeling about the site. There aren't many leisure activities to do around, except horse riding and visiting the farm, however a quick drive in the surrounding area takes you to good pubs and restaurants.
As for the local facilities, the showers are clean and there is hot water. The toilets are clean as well. However, there are only two of each, but we were lucky to share them only with another group of campers.

Well what a lovely little gem, cannot put anything down about this place. Steve and nicola were the perfect hosts. Toilets and showers were immaculate and clean. There is use of a fridge/freezer with shops nearby. About 9 miles from Eastbourne. The early crows were a bit of a nuisance but that was soon taken over by the sound of baby lambs. There are no electric hookups but its not that sort of site. Good old fashioned camping at it's best. The farm is on a bend of the road so you might miss it but Steve says the campsite signs are being made bigger. Yes I am going to visit again if there is space for a tent and telescope when my next holiday comes around.

I am not one to review places but when looking for a campsite to take my kids reviews were my guide. If you are looking for cosy, clean and peace this is the place to set up a tent - bottles of wine or beer beside a fire in the field - perfect - stopped here on route and it's the perfect place for chill out - ideal for couples or very young families - our kids are 11 and 7 so needed more stimuli than what was here and we didn't have bikes to ease the walks we could have had. 2x Showers - 2x Toilets and washing up facilities that are brand spanking new! Nicola was very welcoming and understanding. If your not looking for busy then this is the place - honest!

Stayed at fontmills for 1 night with my family.
Lovely well kept field with lovely clean showers and toilets. Owners were very friendly and helpful.
Extremely well placed for walks/cycle along the cuckoo trail.
Cuckoos rest pub not to far away along the cuckoo trail for a beer or lunch. Will go back very soon as we only live 4 miles away !
