A nice, clean site in a lovely spot (5 mins from the M58 yet still peaceful. )
A friendly welcome with ample facilities for our short stay.
Close to Maghull centre so eateries and shops close by.
Good value for money - will return for sure!

A nice quiet site with basic but adequate facilities. 20 pence for a 4 minute electric shower which was enough for me.
Great to be able to adjust the temperature.
Only 5 amp EHU but we don't have any hi power equipment so that was fine for us.
A short walk to the station to catch the train into Liverpool and an easy drive to Formby and Crosby for the beaches.

This is a little site with a field for EHU units, and a side field for non-EHU. All EHU pitches are hardstanding of gravel and stones, and everything else is on grass. Upon arrival, you travel down Millbank Lane, which is very narrow, but there is a passing place halfway down. There's a whiteboard detailing which pitch you're on - we were on pitch 6. The owners set aside a pack of hardstanding pegs for us to use if we needed them.
Facilities: firstly, the EHU is rated a 5 amps, which is unusually low but we found we managed quite well. There is a rough guide to the rating of various appliances, domestic and camping, in the utility/toilet block which was useful. It just meant that if we had the camping kettle on, we couldn't have the camping microwave on at the same time, and it never caused us any problems, but if you was to have domestic appliances then it would cause the EHU to trip. However, everything is detailed here and in emails about the ratings so no one should not be take unawares.
There is a shower with a meter that takes 20p coins, change available from the owners, and 20p buys you 4 minutes which is ample. There is also a sink for washing up - just flick the heater switch and wait 5 minutes and the water will be piping hot. There's a fridge freezer in there too available for campers' use.
There are three toilets on site, one in the main utility room, and the other two are along the side of the block. There's also a chemical toilet disposal site with a hose for flushing, and someone for grey water, and the usual tap for fresh water. Fresh eggs are for sale(hens are in a coop next to the EHU field), and honey is also on sale.
Despite being so close to Maghull and Liverpool itself, you'd think you're in the middle of nowhere, yet it's extremely well connected, with the A59 being a few minutes away which leads to Switch Island Junction, and the M57 and M58 motorways. It takes around 25-30 minutes to drive into Liverpool.
Most campers stay for only a few nights, as the site is used mainly as a stop off en-route to elsewhere. We were very much the exception in staying for 2 weeks, but it meant we met plenty of people from across the UK and Europe.
For shops, there is Aldi, Lidl and Asda nearby, and there are at least two excellent chippies that have gluten free options and sell Chinese food too, with extremely generous portions. There are also corner shops and suchlike. There are regular buses into Liverpool, and Maghull North train station is nearby.
We genuinely didn't dislike anything and found the site to be perfect for the four of us. If you like your high wattage appliances, then this isn't the site for you, but the detail about the EHU ratings is not concealed and anyone booking will be made aware.
It was for us the pefect base for exploring Liverpool, Crosby, Southport and surrounds, and we also popped over to Manchester, St Helens and Leyland.
There we go. I think we'll be back as it's a nice base for Merseyside that's out of the built up areas and is affordable. We highly recommend it to you.

The site was lovely and quiet.
We understood very quickly how to settle the tent thx to the board at the entrance.
I would like to thank the owner for the kindness.

Access to the site is via a one track lane but there is little traffic so was no problem. There was a notice at the gate advising our assigned pitch. We had paid in advance and never saw the owners.
We had a pitch with EHU and hardstanding around a large well mown field. There was a shower and toilet for those with tents as well as the normal water and chemical points. The EHU was only 5A but this was no problem as the kettle was the only significant load. Our boiler was set to gas only.
All very basic but the site was quiet and within walking distance of a railway station. It is cheaper to park and ride into Liverpool than drive in and park there.
All in all, with the increasing prices of electricity and almost everything else, I thought £25 per night a fair price.

Hidden Corner is a hidden gem! So peaceful and picturesque.
Had to use gas kettle due to low ampage but that's ok.
Spacious pitches. Adequate toilets and shower. Our first CL and very impressed.
Dog walking in fields is NOT allowed, nearest walk is along lane.
Reasonable 4G and hardly any noise from nearby motorways.
Very near village for shops and local bus route at top of lane.
Fresh eggs available on site.
Would definitely visit again.

Public transport nearby to local train station and also into Liverpool.
6amp supply but OK for us.
Jayne friendly and helpful.
Great location for exploring Liverpool and surrounding areas.
Would stay there again.

Campsite is in a stunning location however not happy that electricity kept tripping off as there is only 6 amps used according to the owner and in the first week in April in Scotland with temperatures falling below freezing at night we booked and expected electricity to be man enough for the job
Also trying to use the water tap was problematic as the wheeie bins were in the way and we needed to move these and manoeuvre our vehicle into a tight space
Also only one male toilet cubicle on site which my husband thought was not adequate for how many campers there could be
It was only £5 for EHU but we would have gladly paid more for reliable electricity
