Stunning location, weather typically October but we had a great stay.
Facilities basic but absolutely spotless.
We cycled everyday, and there are plenty of places within reach, lots of hills too!

This was such a lovely location. Drinking water taps and electric were on most pitches which was fantastic.
We walked from here to the Pennine bridleway and from there to the Monsal trail and it was perfect for a walking holiday.
I would definitely recommend this site.

Campsite was in a good location for nearby towns/walks/activities, field well kept, electric hook up and water facilities are abundant. Staff were friendly.
Very windy due to an exposed location but used car as a wind break and can't help the weather!
A little odd having the shower in the gents toilet (to be fair you can lock the door for privacy) but that's the only minor negative point.
Overall a good campsite and would recommend.

Quiet site with beautiful views, cows, sheep and horses in the fields around.
Clean loos and shower.
EHU pitches.
Outdoor pot washing facilities.
Waste point.
Several drinking water taps.
Plenty of grass for the kids to run around and explore.
A few pubs within a couple of miles.
Fresh eggs available from various places round the local area.
Magpie mine 5 min drive.
Aldi 5/10 mins drive.
Ashford in the water 5/10 mins drive.

Lovely campsite with open views. Uncrowded even when a weekend was busy elsewhere. Only 3 other tents and a couple of caravans. Very peaceful.
Plenty of electric and water points. Nice man who helps run the site also the owner is lovely.
Only down side was it seems exposed to wind as it’s a bit higher up. One shower and 3 clean toilets. Basic but good

Small campsite, peace and quiet in the middle of the countryside,
We loved our stay and would use again.
Basic facilities that included a warm shower and were clean and well kept.

Lovely quiet site. Level pitches.
Loos are basic but were clean. Apparently the shower was in the men’s loos so I didn’t use it.
Herd of rare breed goats on site which was a treat.

The best camping around here! Dave is the best host and the setting the most peaceful you’ll come across.
We having been coming here 3 years now and will always come back.
Church inn at chelmorton is 2 miles away and serves a very nice pint and does fab food.
Children will have to make their own entertainment as there is no playground etc but there is plenty of room to run around and enjoy.

Booked this site at very last minute and I'm so happy to say that for whatever reason they had plenty of spaces even though is was a bank holiday. The site is delightful. The warden Dave is a really very nice man who will do anything he can to make your stay as pleasant as he can, nothing was too much trouble. The owners seemed nice on the phone but we did not meet them.
The site is extremely well kept, tidy and clean. Lovely views and even though on a very slight slope it didn't make any difference to us in our caravan or our daughter and family in their tent. Water, drainage and electric to each pitch and a small but very clean and useable toilet with shower.
We liked this site for many reasons, its closeness to the lovely Bakewell and surrounding villages, its peacefulness and general lovely feeling. We have already booked four pitches for the end of May bank holiday and I can feel we will be frequent visitors to this lovely place.
