Nice big field, lots of space to spread out

Welcoming landlady in the pub

Pub serves decent food and drink

Basic facilities - 1 wc, water points and bin, suits those who are self-contained

Good location for local walks (with or without dog)

An excellent site for walks on the peninsula,

Located behind a pub where real ale is available, with an impressive vegetarian selection on the menu too.

Both the staff and other customers were friendly and helpful.

A friendly welcome to the immaculate field where we were able to select our own area to pitch.

We used the EHU, single toilet and water supply (no showers) all within easy reach of our pitch.

Our children loved the space this area provided, with convenient shop around the corner for essentials.

We enjoyed walks out to the marina and vineyard as well as the short walk to the pub!

Fish n chips available close by and food from the pub was great,

Would recommend and visit again.

Lovely flat grassy site behind the pub.

Beautifully mown. We were the only ones there at the time so very peaceful.

Water and CDP but no ehu which doesn't bother us.

Takeaway available at the pub. Can walk to the river.

We stayed one night at The Rose at Shotley, we were met with a very warm welcome and shown to the large field behind the pub where we would be staying.

The field had a good water supply and elsan disposal area.

There is no electricity supply but that is not a problem for a few nights if you have a leisure battery.

We went for a drink in the evening and decided to stay for dinner, the food was lovely. Fantastic hosts with lots of local information for walking.

Great value and would gladly stay again.

Nice peaceful site, behind the pub, could have been interesting if a football match was on, but I don't think my husband would have minded a bit! Staff at the pub were very friendly.

Good walks and lovely lanes to cycle in

Been useful to have some info on the South Suffolk Cycle Route, but we managed!

Due to COVID 19 we were only allowed to camp if we had a chemical toilet. So we’ve had one lurking in our shed and this the first time we’ve used it in anger!

We were the only unit on the field and had a fantastic 2 night break! Boy do we need a shower! That’s the next thing to look into purchasing!

The staff, Tobee and Sarah at the Rose are really lovely!
