AMAZING!
The campsite is perfect for water sport lovers, right on the edge of the lake with easy access to the water.
The toilet and shower facilities were good, clean and warm.
You are allowed bbq and camp fires (fire pots aren't provided but you are allowed to make one on the floor)
The location is good perfect for driving out to different towns etc. There isn't really any pubs/shops etc within walking distance but that wasn't an issue.
Would definitely return

Unbeatable location, but sadly prices have increased without comparable improvement in facilities. In 2021 we paid £25 pp/pn, but in 2022 we paid £40. Others who booked later in season paid £45, and staff told us prices would be £60 in 2023!
Toilet/shower/pot-wash block is solid & spacious, but far from pitches, and route poorly lit/signposted. Surely solar ground lights would be an inexpensive way of marking the path? No lights in women's side the 3 days we were there.
We had to ask for toilet roll (when somebody finally answered the phone). Mobile toilets/showers have been erected closer to pitches (apparently aimed at people who've booked the yurts on site) but these were extremely cramped and not at all accessible.
The recycling facility seemed to be in complete chaos.
We had a fantastic time with lots of friends, and appreciated the extra space available as only 50% of pitches had been let. Sadly we won't be back as prices are too high with no apparent commitment of resource to managing or maintaining the camping side of the YMCA's operation.

What a location!
Easy to get to and pitching up straight by the lake with a superb view.
Facilities were modern and clean.
Will definitely be booking again next year!

Amazing lakeside location.
Toilet and shower blocks basic but adequate, nice hot water in showers. There are 2 sinks for washing up in each toilet block.
Bit of a walk to toilets. Not as much space as we’d expected between tents but it was bank holiday weekend and some groups had pitched close together.
We had a great stay here, basic facilities but the location is beautiful and our kids spent hours paddling and playing by the lake.

A very quiet site this time of year. Basic toilet/shower block in adjacent field, not heated but did have hot water.
Field edges onto Lake Windemere, so ideal for Watersports, but if you want to walk from campsite you have to walk along the road to access footpath by the lake.
Bridge was not there so had to turn back. Some hardstanding pitches, not bookable.
We enjoyed the wildlife, deer grazing and Canadian geese, with fantastic views.
Remote booking was easy and instructions clear. Following storm Arwen the warden did come and check we were OK and the track had been cleared to get out.

Stayed for the Epic event swim. Great little site on the lake.
Toilets and showers bearable and ok for a couple of nights.
Think there were large sinks in the men’s possibly for washing up but didn’t find a specific area for washing pots.
Not a problem for us as only stayed 1 night.

It was a great location, and we had a great time staying there.
There were plenty of things to do and the facilities were clean and tidy.
The value for money wasn't what I was expecting but it was still good

Fab site, with perfect views.
It is quiet and unspoilt with a large choice areas to camp, with plenty of room.
A real bonus to have direct access to the lake.
Lovely safe environment for children.
