We booked a 5 night stay at brook farm and Ann was very accommodating sending all the details we needed to pay a deposit and a map of the site and which pitch we were allocated to.
Site was a nice space with a gentle slope and grass well maintained. We have quite a large tent and the pitch size was plenty big enough to pitch tent a toilet tent at the side and park our car at the side.
Facilities were minimal with just a portaloo, a tap for drinking water and a wooden shed to empty toilet waste, take rubbish and hire a fire pit that was £5 for the duration of our stay.
We like that there were cleaning sprays, sponges, washing up bowl in there to borrow if you had forgotten anything. There are cows that are fenced off just behind the site and do make quite a bit of noise but it didn't bother us.
Also we did hear gun shots quite late at night which scared the children but once we were told what it was for it made us feel at ease.
There is an aldi and poundland about 5 mins drive away and a retail park with a b and m, pounshop, pets at home about 15 miles away.
We would recommend having a few loose slabs available to use to put underneath the firepits to stop it burning the grass as they are quite low to the ground but other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again 😀.
