Stayed here a few nights in our tourer. Nice campsite, showers clean. Nice views, close to the beach and local shops. Shop on the site was nice too.
Dog friendly and quiet. Beach was a short walk away and is great for taking dogs too, cars can drive on the beach, it was very quiet when we went.
Would recommend.

Stayed one night here as I was passing through. Predominantly static caravans, where I was placed, though there is a small touring area. All level pitches, and easy access to the site down a short narrow lane. The toilet block was a temporary one, and though clean the shower cubicle was extremely small. Apparently a new toilet block has been coming soon for a couple of years but no sign of it yet. A longer walk than I thought to the beach a good 15 mins down a hedge row uneven path. The beach was spectacular, long and clean and many had driven onto it and set up for the day. Very expensive site £33 a night.

Visited here with my 4 year old son for our first adventure in the Dream Machine (our new camper)and it absolutely lashed it down. Despite this we had a great time. The lady in the shop was very helpful and happy as soon as we turned up and had a little chat with my boy which was nice to see. The pitch was great, hardstanding, level with electric hook and looking on to the nice play area (with goal posts!). The facilities were great, clean & heated with good showers. Only a short walk to the beach. And what a beach it is!

Recently returned from a fabulous week at Garreg Goch, booked online a few weeks before not knowing what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised, on arrival we noticed how clean the site was, good large pitches with great services. We stayed next to the play area which was ideal for our 8yr old who loved thè freedom to make friends. Their is a small shop which has basics but there is a good Spar within walking distance, a good chippy and a pub too. The toilet / shower block was clean & tidy with plenty of hot water, the only downside was there was only 2 each for men & women, which meant if 2 people were in the shower then there were no free toilets. The beach is about 10min stroll away and is absolutely huge and is great for bikes and kites.
We were wary because of some previous reviews we'd read but after our holiday realised you cant please everyone all of the time.
Highly recommended for a lovely relaxing holiday.
We'll definitely go back.

Arrived at garreg goch to find new manager , found him and his assistant very helpful. Touring pitches have been updated and looked really smart with water and waste hook up - makes life so easy. Enjoyed our stay on this warm and pleasant site with very helpful staff, would recommend this site.

We have just returned from this site and its the best place we have been to in long time. The facilities are spotless and the staff are really friendly and helpful and the site is well looked after. The site has a small shop for milk bread etc, there are around 8 touring sites and they are in walking distance of the beach using a footpath from the camp and then down a very quiet road to the sea.
There is a small children's play area and the beach is huge and the sand is clean if you want to drive down there you can park on the sands for £4 which must be a bargain in this day and age.
We found it so peaceful that we would have liked to stay for another week! Its a site for people who want to get away from the noises and stresses of the real world. If its bright lights and night life you're after this wouldn't be the site for you.

Just had 10 glorious sunny days at this site in our two-berth tourer and have to say from the outset that the owners do a splendid job in supervising and the upkeep of general cleanliness throughout.
Site location is close to beach and facilities with a regular bus service into Portmadog.
As a camper of 40+ years, I have several suggestions and comments to rectify many downsides for tourers on this site.
1. The location along the narrow and close together pitches is too far from the only toilet block and requires another drainage system to empty waste. Disabled (like myself) are unable to trawl heavy water barrels the 300 – 400 yards to the drains. My waste had to go into the bank (sorry!)
2. One toilet key (£10 deposit) is inadequate for two or a family to walk the long distance to a locked toilet. I used their facility only once, as there were no urinals and just two cubicles with joint shower, toilet and washbasin, which was unacceptable for their daily price charged. A minimum of two keys should be provided.
3. A caravan, awning and one car parked side by side left no room for changing barrels etc. And insufficient car parking for visitors as no extra parking available.
4. Free Wi-fi was virtually non-existent with many complaints both from tourers and static’s. I had to sit under the mast in light rain to get important emails.
5. Awning payment! – Beware about paying for your last night like I did because we were not aware about a strict 11am depart. All the tourers we saw removed their awnings the night before and at an expensive £3. 50 charge, no refunds are offered. There is also a charge of £1. 50/day for a dog?
This is no reflection toward Kath and Alex but towards the owners of the site who set the charges and rules. They need to spend time in a tourer at the bottom end of the view-less pitches to experience our expensive stays.

Stayed for May bank holiday.
Excellent welcome on arrival with full explanation of rules, and advice for getting around to the beach, shops, & chippy.
Caravan cannot be faulted in any way, clean, beds ready to be made, tea and coffee available on arrival.
Site is immaculate, appears to be regularly inspected and cleaned. Very quiet when we were there, does not appear to be much in the way of a children's play area.
Cannot comment on the toilet block.
Would happily return, and recommend any body to stay here.
The only problem we found was seeing the sign for the site before reaching the junction. (The road leading to the site has the same name).

What a fantastic holiday! My wife, daughter and I felt at home immediately due to the warm and informative welcome from the manager.
The site is located perfectly for the beach, pub, country walks, Portmadog along with a host of exciting locations.
The site is clean and well run and we felt safe at all times. The showers are brand new and the other facilities are located centrally next to the park area and reception. Brilliant for children to play safely. After ten pm children must go back to their caravans which ensures peace and quiet for everyone.
What a personal touch. The staff are on hand at all times to help if needed. They offer a real personal touch which made us feel part of the family throughout the week.
We are counting the days until we can come back again.

Just back from a long weekend at Garreg Goch, but definitely will not go back there. The staff were nice and polite and the new showers and toilets fab, there was free wifi and the beach and shops just a short walk away, but all the above can not make up for the pitch we were given.
The pitch was on a strip of about 10, directly behind us was the back gardens of a row of bungalows and in front of us was a another static caravan park, so our view was the roofs of the statics.
Also directly in front of us was a public pathway, which we did not have a problem with, until we realised some people from the statics on the site used this for a dog exercise area and let their dogs foul outside our caravan and on the empty pitches, though they cleared the mess up this is something you don't want to see or ever have on any other park we have stayed, they usually have a separate dog exercise field.
This park is mainly statics and I think the few touring pitches are an after thought. Difficult to get on and off the pitch, there was only us and 2 other tourers on this strip of pitches, so could use the pitch next to us to park, but if it was full don't know where we would of parked.
