This is a great little site, very well kept with very spacious well manicured grass pitches and some hard standing and a gated entrance.
The owner is really friendly and helpful.
There is Chemical disposal and drinking water, EHU which is a metered supply but no showers or toilets.
A short walk away you can catch buses 9 or 25 that run very regularly to Southend and Shoeburyness.
Downside there is some road noise but this was not a problem for us at all.
£14pn plus electricity for our VW camper (think a bit more for larger outfits), great value.

We were looking for somewhere to stay near Southend as we we were meeting a young dog to be rehomed.
We enjoyed our stay at Lower Woburn Farm very much. The site would seem to suit self contained units as I don’t think there is a toilet block.
Dave the owner was pleasant and helpful. The site is near a main road but the noise level is minimal.
We would recommend this site.

Peaceful, relaxed and well organised with easy access.
Does exactly what it said on the box.
There is a bit of road noise but didn't bother us at all.
Ideal for visiting family and the local area. We will def be back😁👍

The site was clean and tidy with the facilities that your require.
We were made welcome although we had arrived a couple of days earlier than we had booked.
The nearby main road was noisy but it will not stop us from returning in the future.

Nice quiet friendly site. Has electric hook up and a toilet. Rayleigh high street just a few minutes drive away. Towns and beaches of Southend / Westcliff / Leigh easily accessible. Main A127 nearby. Sometimes you may hear a low hum from this road but it doesn't impact on the enjoyment of staying on this lovely site in the heart of south east Essex. We were visiting family members in Leigh and had some back for a buffet as the weather was so good. They said what a nice site we were staying on. Would highly recommend this site to anyone who wishes to visit south east Essex. The fees are pretty good too.

Recently spent two nights at Lower Wyburns Farm, and it is what it is a field at the back of the farm.
The owners are friendly, to be honest we didn't see them really.
The only criticisms I have is the toilet really could do with cleaning and redecorating - (only as I have a thing about public loos anyway).
And it says bar/restaurant 1 mile away, its a bit further than that, we went in the car! nice steak place though.
It is quite close to the road, I didn't hear it but others said they heard it in the night.

We stayed here for 5 nights. It is near where our daughter lives and meant we could see the grandchildren for more than a day visit. The owner had told us he didn't encourage children, I got the impression there had been complaints about cycles and scooters darting about and general bad unsupervised behaviour in the past. Our 2 make their own enjoyment (they are 9 and 7) and were happy watching the dog training and making up games to play - not quite sure what is meant by 'nothing for children'- probably depends on the children! This is a pleasant site - as previously mentioned the A127 is very near and you can hear a hum but it doesn't detract from the site which has a horse/pony paddock - another which was being used for dog training - there is the C&C field with hook-ups and another without hook-ups which had a couple of small tents in. The site is obviously well cared for and surrounded by trees. The owner is friendly and helpful. My daughter used the on site loo a few times, she said it was ok - no lock on the door so she took one of the girls with her as a lookout. We will go there again it suited our purpose and we got out and about every day - shopping is close by and Rayleigh is about 10 minutes drive. Finally, it is rare to find such a site for £10 a night with hook-up - pretty good I'd say.

We came across this campsite just by following a sign off the main road. There was no one at the farmhouse to book in with but someone working in one of the buildings opened the entrance gate for us.
We could see it was a tidy field, we pitched our tent and I was absolutely horrified when I saw the state of the toilet and washbasin! I am a person who has camped all my life and this reminded me of the sites in the depths of Wales 40 years ago. There was not even anywhere to put my bag down, as the window sill was full of dirt and cobwebs. I spent half an hour cleaning the toilet, washbasin, window sill and the cobwebs off the walls with the toilet brush.
Later that evening we knocked on the farmhouse door again to pay the fee (and mention the toilet) but there still was no one in.
It was only later that evening that we realised the camping field did not even have a light!
I see other reviewers mention the noise of the road, it is very noisy but in all fairness that is not something the owner can change.
We packed up the morning after, still no one was in at the farmhouse for us to pay, I think the curtains were still closed. Therefore, my husband said 'well, they have had their monies worth with the cleaning' so we left.
Any people considering going to this site needs to be aware of the situation. Obviously people with their own caravan or motorhome will have their own facilities and will not even be aware of the state of the toilet.

Hello, I am currently located at Wyburns Farm Caravan and camping site, in the house and would just like to let everyone know that we have been working hard to bring to site up to the standard that is required from the people staying. We have been building the foundation to a new toilet block and shower and an office that will be situated away from the house and also we have set up camping regulated pitch electric hook ups, that just need to activated and hopefully we want to have it all finished this year. We do apologise for any problems occurred on some occasions. Richard Stokes, Owner
