Lovely campsite in Neath for easy access to Afan Forest where I had a race. Very quiet.
Pitches are level, and the site is tidy, perfect for a campervan.
Although it's a basic site, it's really well located for what we wanted and I will book again.
Great contact from the owners about our stay, and this was appreciated.

Thank you Ty Canol Farm for another lovely stay.
We have stayed on a few occasions now and every year it gets better.
Your hospitality is second to none.
Looking forward to another visit in the future.
With the lovely walk in the woods along the river and waterfalls, also the ancient ruins nearby. Not forgetting convenience stores nearby.
As Arny said "WE WILL BE BACK"

We booked this site as it was convenient to meet up with friends for a meal, and close to our relatives and weren't expecting much.
To our surprise this turned out to be a gem of a site from the moment Tina welcomed us at the entrance. Once through the gate and farmyard, you drive into the beautifully mown field surrounded by tidy hedges and we had one of the hardstandings by the entrance.
The separate gents and ladies toilet and sinks are kept immaculately clean and there are also two shower rooms - what more could one want!
Each pitch has a picnic table and there are pleasant views from each one.
There is also a nice walk around part of the farm with views over the edge of town, the marshes and the hills beyond.
Right opposite the site approach is the river Clydach gorge, with a walk down to the old ironworks and only a little further on are the splendid ruins of Neath Abbey and the Neath & Tennant canal.
We cycled from the site down to Aberavon one day and then down to Swansea marina the next, using mostly off-road cycle tracks and canal towpaths.
Tina and Steve have worked hard to establish a wonderful campsite and deserve to have more custom and we'll certainly look forward to a revisit.

The site is not larger and limited amenities all are well maintained clean and tidy, well signposted as you proceed up Penyard Road, larger Motor homes use alternate route as railway bridge is low, entrance via keycode gate
Owners are friendly and keep you advised of pitch etc if they are away, large hedge around site so gives plenty of shelter, field has a slight slope and 2 hard standings,
There is some road noise but this dies down in the evening and hardly noticeable, train services run just below the site noise is well sheltered by surrounding hedges also with modern trains having low noise impact.
Close to Neath Town centre with Superstore nearby, Good Chip shop a short walk away, Takeaways in Skewen
Is a great place for exploring the area and well connected, MBR or walking in the Afan Forest, Beaches at Aberavon and Swansea, Neath and Tennant Canal, Railway Station with connections towards Bristol /London /West Wales.

This is an adult only campsite, we stayed here for a week to enable us to visit family,
This is a nice clean, pleasant campsite,
Usual necessary campsite facilities like toilet, shower, and waste facility, although no laundry facilities.
I would recommend this site.

Have just enjoyed two nights here. The approach along a narrow street of houses is not promising, but once you reach the field you are above everything urban.
Well mown field and trimmed hedges, tidy facilities, though of course the toilets were not open because of Covid.
Variety of birds. From the site we walked along the river Clydach and into Dyffryn Woods. Also along the Tennant Canal to Aberdulais and back along the Neath Canal.
Plenty more walks in the area for a subsequent visit.

Really enjoyed our stay at Ty Canol. Lovely warm and informative welcome.
Pleasant open outlook.
Good location for Tesco and town centre. Nice historical an canal walks close by. The climb back to the site was not a problem for us.
New toilet facilities for this season but did not get to use due to covid restrictions
Would recommend and stay again

Lovely site, just what we like, quiet. Several hardstanding pitches. Tina was lovely, very helpful.
We didn't try the site showers but although basic looked adequate with an electric shower to each one.
Some information leaflets available on site. Toilets very basic. The area the caravans, tents etc are on its fully fenced and secure.
Some great walks from the site including one to a great little waterfall that Tina told us about.

We stayed for 6 nights in June and the weather was perfect. The site is about 10 minutes drive from junction 43 of the M4. We found the site easy to access, with the only slight worry being the low bridge nearby, but it was 2. 9m high so was easy to get under.
The site is well maintained, grass cut short and cuttings cleared. It is well sheltered by hedges all round, but it's on a slope so ramps are really a must for caravans and motorhomes.
The owners are really friendly and helpful, making suggestions of places to visit locally and further afield. The facilities are clean and well maintained.
There is a Tesco superstore about 5 minutes drive away and 15 minutes walk. Also a local shop about 10 minutes walk for newspapers, milk, bread etc.
Neath Abbey can be viewed from the camp site and is near enough to walk to. It has a very low bridge (about 2. 2m I think) which we just crept under, or you access it via the main road nearby.
Overall we had a lovely time and will be visiting again.

This is one of the best, under stated but well provided with the usual facilities and a few other very handy things like phone charging, use of a freezer and excellent local information.
The family running the site are really nice and welcoming and will help you choose an appropriate spot and deliver a picnic table to your door!
The head of the family is a real character, each day helping you with your plans, later checking that everything was fine and much later, sharing a wee dram for a bit of banter!
It never felt busy, though there were quite a few campers and caravanners and the views are amazing. Within a few miles drive is one of those must see places, Bessie's pub, it must be one of the last parlour pubs in the UK. We'll certainly be heading back to Tycanol.
