This is the 2nd time my wife and I stayed at Montloue, the 1st time was in 2012 and it hadn't changed. It was still quiet and peaceful with wonderful owners. It only takes 6 caravans or motorhomes. It has no showers or toilets, but you do have individual water taps, electric hook-up and satellite connection (you need your own sat box) and it is hardstanding.
Keith and Carol are very friendly and helpful, they put on a barbecue and a new addition is a curry night, this is for everyone to get to know each other and they are very good nights.
Sadly, I have been informed that it is closing at the end of September and will not be reopening due to ill health.

Recently returned from another 4 weeks at Montloue caravan and motorhome park. Only 6 pitches, all well spaced out with water, electricity and satellite connection on each pitch. Keith and Carol also do fabulous B and B in beautiful rooms in their Chataux style house. Weekly Barbeque offered. Also new this year is a Curry night, very very tasty. Already booked ferry and pitch for 8 weeks for next year you have to try it,

This is our first visit to Montloue and Brittany and we stayed two weeks. It is a small adult only site with six pitches in beautiful grounds all with electricity, water and satelite laid on. Wi-fi is available.
Carol and Keith the British owners are the best and most friendly hosts we have ever come across. They are keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. You are invited for drinks on arrival.
They are caravanners themselves so they know what people want. The site has a very laid back informal relaxing feel and you soon get to chat to all the other visitors.
Many people return year after year. One couple has been here six years running so that speaks volumes.
We missed the BBQ this year, but they are meant to be something else. Hopefully Carol feels better soon and will be able to do them again.
The supermarkets are not far away with a good selection Intermarche, Carrefour. Lidl etc. Lovely Boulangerie in the village.
How can you improve on the best? Well we thought a washing machine /tumble dryer would be a very helpful facility to do those small items when staying weeks. Understanding that Carol and Keith do not want to turn their lovely garden into a Chinese laundry with bed sheets adorning the lawn etc
The best beach we found was near Le Pouldu (Bellangenet) as we could park the car just behind the beach and it was a short walk. About a 25 minute drive from Montloue. Beach is a lovely sandy beach. Nice family run snack bar across the road from the beach. Weekends and after 3pm very busy and parking a nightmare- go during the weekdays.
Some interesting places to visit (Quimper/Quimperle/Concarneau/Vannes), but comparing it to other area's in France we have visited such as the Dordogne/Provence/ Vanoise/ Vendee/ Loire/ Ardeche we started to struggle to find places of exceptional outstanding interest to visit after two weeks on those dull cloudy days.
Lovely area to visit - very pleasant flat rural countryside, but not exceptional outstanding landscape. The coast is not so dramatic (compared to Cornwall Bedruthan Steps etc- more dunes/low lying) or towns (compared to Rocmandour for example in Dordogne). The area lacks the wow factor in comparison to those better known places in my personal view.
Brittany is still on our list of places to explore in the future and we can highly recommend Carol and Keith's Montloue.

Recently returned from a week stay in this delightful 6 van campsite. The hosts Carol and Keith have managed to tick all the right boxes to make your stay unforgettable. A warm welcome awaits you on your arrival, and then later in the early evening we are invited to have wine and nibbles together with any recent arrivals on the terrace of their magnificent house. A great ice breaker. The location of the site allows you to visit the glorious coastline of Brittany. The only down side was the weather, but we cannot blame Carol and Keith for that. Do partake in their once a week BBQ, with all the other caravaneers and enjoy a round of Tick Tock. Don't ask! A good night was had by all. Hope to visit again in the not to distant near future.

Carol and Keith are great hosts and can not do enough to help.
When they say you will be greeted with a glass or two of wine, make that three or four.
Beautiful site well kept and maintained with water and electricity on each pitch.
This is a CL style site with no facilities which was great for us as we use our own facilities and not suitable for children.
Dogs must be kept on a short leash but there plenty of places to walk the dog, Carol kindly arranged a vets appointment for us. Small but perfectly formed.

Our first stay here, and greeted with a warm welcome, which included a drink in the evening with the owners!
There are 5 very large hard standing pitches well placed within a beatiful grassed area, adjacent to the owners house/B&B, terrace/gardens and the crop fields next door. Mature trees give some shaded areas around the perimiter but it's not dark, just lush and green.
No on site facilities, except for waste services. Water, EHU, Satalite connection for every pitch. Some pitches can use a pipe to drain their grey waste straight into the nearby hedgerow.
The local area is quiet, there is a wonderful bakery in the small town. Supermarkets to choose from a 10 min drive away. Great selection of fresh fish, meat, veg/fruit, cheese. Wonderful! You can also tank up with fuel.
Market in Concarneau was lovely too, bit too many non food stalls but what was there we certainly made the most of.
Lots of lovely small towns along the coast line to visit and stop for lunch/dinner.
Our stay was a combination days out visiting other places and relaxing on site in the peace and quiet, enjoying the sunshine and local produce.
You will need to use the car for shopping, hence the 8/10 for location, but the advantage is it's a restful place!
We viewed the B&B facilities whilst we were there and they are the best we've ever seen, 5 star as is the caravan site!

Hello everyone, My wife and I have just returned from our 3rd holiday at Montloue campsite and B&B we stayed for 4 weeks last year for 4 weeks and 2012 for 5 weeks. While we were there I booked for next year 2015 for 8 weeks. The owners are a lovely couple and will do anything to help or advise you, there are only 6 pitches for Caravans or Motor Homes, all have Electric and individual water supply each pitch also has connection point for Satellite. The owner also does B & B in their lovely Home. The owners also put on a regular 3 course Barbeque which every one is invited you don't have to go but is well worth a visit. 4 supermarkets all within a few minutes, lots of coastal places to visit 20 to 45 mins or further if you want to, PONT AVEN POULDU PORT POULDU GUIDE PLAGES DOELAN CAMPERLE LORIENT and more There is a terrific Boulangerie in the village FAB BAGGUETTES CROISANTS and PASTRIES to die for a bit on the expensive side but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Ther is also WI FI included in the price for your pitch. The owner will also sell you Tomatoes and vegetables if available. We Highly recommend MONTLOUE Mr and Mrs V. C. EMMINS

We stayed on this lovely site the last week in June and the owners couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. The pitches are gravel hard standings and plenty big enough, the site is very neat and tidy and is a credit to them. We took our two dogs with us and the wood opposite was perfect for exercising them, especially on a hot day! They also have a small area near the garden too.
They also do bed and breakfast in their beautiful house, which is something we may think about in the future for friends who don't own a caravan but would like to come away with us.
Supermarkets close by, lovely beaches and towns within easy reach, ideal location. Look forward to returning.

Wished we had stayed longer. Keith and Carol have put a lot of work into this lovely site. Each pitch has its own water, electric and SatTV connection. We were invited to a great BBQ with a great supply of wine. The grounds are well kept. There is a chemical waste disposal point but there are no toilet or shower facilities so you need to use your own. We were lucky to get a pitch as many of the others staying here come back again and again. It is in a great position to visit the area and Carol loaned us a great map. The coastline is within 10 mins drive and we were amused that the French had been filming there own version of Doc Martin. There is a large supermarket a short drive away and great bakers in Mellac.
We will be returning. Great hosts and great area
