This is the first time we have used the Approach Farm site and (whilst basic for some people) we found it ideal and nothing to dislike.
Easy to access, walking distance for the pub and excellent cycle routes on the doorstep.
The site was ideal, flat and well spaced, however the best bits were the owners who were keen to ensure that their guests were well supported and the fantastic sunsets.
We wanted to stay longer but domestic pressures prevented. We will revisit this site

Lovely quiet and cheap site.
Basic (no showers, washing up sinks and only one toilet), but drinking water taps, waste water disposal and multiple recycling bins and electrical hook ups if needed.
Relaxed, friendly farm based site
About 20 mins drive from York.

Lovely clean caravan park, the pitches are well spaced and no one is really overlooking you, which we liked. You could hear some road noise from the A19, but we soon got used to it.
There is a clean toilet and although no hot water or shower, we were aware of this when booking.
The information leaflet, that we were given was informative and useful, giving local attractions and distances. The games room was closed but hopefully open next year, which will be useful for our grandaughter. We liked the fact that they appear easy going, not like some sites that have so many rules!
It is an ideal base for york and surrounding areas and have now decided to keep our caravan in the storage service they provide. They also do a pull on pull off service, which is useful.
It is sometimes difficult to contact the farm on the landline, but we left an email and they did get back to us.

We have been visiting Approach farm caravan site for a number of years, In fact we store our caravan there,
We only use this site as its so friendly' Angus and Kerry are so helpful and polite alway's,
Everything is always clean and tidy and the amenities are ideal, An on site toilet with hand basin soap etc
Small games room for younger people, Fresh eggs for sale,
Plenty of safe walks for families. A regular bus route to Selby or York so allows trips and meals. Two local villages that cater food not to far a walk. We hop on a bus a lot and within twenty mins your in the centre of York,
I note a few people mention no shower!, true but we have one in our caravan so ok, but for campers or motorhomes it would be good to have one I suppose and would not be opposed to paying for the use of one on a key basis,
We would recommend Approach farm to anyone wanting an unspoilt country site.

This camp site was very good no showers then but a very friendly site.
Small games room.
We really enjoyed our visit.
Was nice because we took our dog with us and as long as he was on a lead he was very welcome there.
We did not bother with electrics,
The site was clean and tidy.
There was a tap with water, a toilet and a games room
The shops were not too far away.
The site was close to a swimming baths if you needed a shower you could go for a swim after your shower the hop back in the shower after again

Cheerful welcome by family plus the dog.
Simple site well away from the road which is the old road, so the main trunk road even further away. Big field with water and bins.
By the house was a single toilet, but no showers. However, there is a large play barn with pool table, so my 12 year old son was very pleased to be able to play pool and not to be required to have a shower!
Site is five mins bike ride from Riccall which has an excellent italian restaurant and two convenience stores. It is also the start of the cycle route to York with the scale solar system. Pluto is an easy walk or ride from the campsite, but Neptune is then a scale 2. 5 km away. So educational and healthy.
For us as cycle tourers, a great stop off point. I just wish there had been a hot shower after 40 miles riding.
