Terrible site, the worst I have visited in France. Karaoke until midnight made it impossible to sleep and we weren't even that close to the bar. Volume at club level. Dark, claustrophobic pitch backed up against a concrete building. Not a blade of grass in sight.
Was asked to pay upfront on arrival, something I have never encountered in France before. They said they had problems with people not paying which tells a story in itself.
Asked for a refund for the second night paid for as we were going to move to another site. Duty manager said this was impossible for technical reasons and I should email. Fobbed off again when I did so.
Toilets were OK and individual staff were pleasant but I found this site depressing and cramped. The beach nearby is great but there are dozens of sites in this area close to the enormous long beach. Take your pick but give this one a miss.

Just visited this site for the third time, but the first time in a static unit. It was very easy to book online via the website and when we arrived (a day late due to a ferry cancellation) it was absolutely spotless and very comfortable. As other reviewers have stated, the location of the site is brilliant, no worries about getting a parking space at the beach.
The facilities on the site are basic but perfectly adequate (I can't comment on the toilet block as we didn't use it).
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and speak very good English. You do have to leave a hefty security deposit against damage and cleanliness in the mobile home but that was returned to us when they inspected the accommodation prior to our departure. As long as you leave it clean it is no problem.
Would definitely return again in the future. Noise on the site was not a problem to us - there were some groups of young people staying on the site but the camp site staff controlled their behaviour very well.

Stayed here for 4 nights July/ August having been here 2 years ago. See previous review. This time touring in our campervan. Did not book and were given a choice of 3 pitches. Good pitch with hedging near the bar. Again very welcoming. This year the toilet block has been completely renovated. More toilets and showers, all new tiling and cubicles. Very nice and clean. The disused block is now a store house. Bar, entertainment and swimming pool still great fun. Whilst we were there, there were 2 live music bands, a boules tournament and a disco. The staff work hard at keeping everyone happy. Children are entertained with games and bouncy castles. The reason we go here is THE BEACH. IT IS FANTASTIC. 250 mts from campsite.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in early/mid August with our 2 kids (7 & 13). First impressions were not great as we had driven all the way from Calais (approx 9 hours including 2 short stops and 44 Euros in tolls) and had endured a 1 hour traffic jam to get off the motorway due to the tolls. (They are supposedly widening the number of exits a La Roche Sur Yon for next year!). Coupled with the fact that it was pouring with rain made this, our first outing abroad with the trailer tent, doubt our decision.
However by the next afternoon, with a good night's sleep, the tent up and the weather sunny, the holiday took on a different outlook.
The campsite itself was quite small and safe. The unisex toilet block was regularly cleaned, however due to the sandy nature of the site could get dirty again quite quickly. Also make sure you take your own loo roll! The pool was a hit with the kids with a small slide, however there was not a great deal of space around it. The takeaway and shop were not really used.
On the whole the site was reasonably peaceful although a couple of nights per week the noise/music from the bar was quite loud although this did not bother us. As previously mentioned ther were nights when loud shouting from the nearby road could be heard. Most nights the sound of the waves crashing on the nearby beach was the main sounds!
Our pitch was ample for our trailer tent and awning although it was domintaed by shade, making the drying of towels etc a constant souce of annoyance to my wife.
There is a Super you in nearby La Tranche although this would nearly always be very busy and was located at a particularly congested road junction.
However what makes this campsite is its location. A short 5 minute walk to a fabulous beach with excellent waves for body boarding etc. This can get very busy particularly after 2pm but was still preferred to the empty, waveless beach we moved on to afterwards.
Overall this was a good campsite in an excellent location which we would certainly consider if/when we return to the Vendee.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. This was our 3rd visit to this site see our previous postings. The distance and ease of access to the beach and surf is what really makes this site. Please don’t let the following put you off.
We had a terrible 2 weeks on the site due to a group of teenagers who were intent on upsetting the whole site in the middle of the night. The site management were always on hand no matter what time of night but never caught the culprits. After the 3rd or 4th time of complaining we did get the impression that they were not prepared to do anything else. Our 2nd to last night we had a horrendous thunder storm and we and several others campers were flooded. Our tent was also damaged to the point where we had to bin it. The management cannot be blamed here it was the youths that ruined it for us and several other families, but we will not go back which is a great shame as we thought we had found our perfect site.
We were disappointed as we have had 2 very happy holidays here. We are not coming to this site again but we are going back to the same village but in a villa next year as it is just perfect.

This was our 2nd year at this site and we love it. The we, is hubby, me and 14 year old. Facilities are as others have said and remain as our review in 2009. Clean and tidy site great for tents. High hedges separating the pitches give a good degree of privacy.
The beach is 5 minutes walk away and is fantastic although it does get quiet windy in the afternoons. There is no shade so a brolly is required for protection. There is a small facility to buy sandwiches, chips and drinks if you wish. All freshly prepared.
We were unfortunate to be there at the same time as some youths who were inconsiderate and very noisy for a couple of nights but after complaining to the site manager all was resolved (we were not the only ones to complain). There is entertainment most evenings but only very noisy on a few nights and it does all end at midnight only the quiz went on longer and they did apologise. The entertainment consists of a disco, singer, quiz and Petanque match. It is very quiet once the entertainment stops and you can indeed hear the waves crashing at night.
The staff are very helpful and friendly but only speak a little English. You can hire bikes on site and it works out about 9 Euro’s a day but cheaper if you hire for longer. The cycle routes are brilliant all clearly signposted and good ground only once or twice do you go on the main roads.
There are some great places to visit in the surrounding areas Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, Tranche and Sables-d'Olonne are great. If you want to eat out and fancy something a bit more than just a cafe bar the Sports Restaurant at Longville is great but you do need to book as its gets very busy.
We love this place so much we are going back for 3 weeks next year. We find it totally relaxing and the odd bit of noise has not put us off.

We are a 50+ couple. We have camped many times all over France and love it. Read previous reviews and were very happy with what we found. We wre allocated pitch 60. This was flat and hard at the back but had very deep sand on the front right hand quarter. Car swallowing! Toilets___ Plenty of showers and basins but could do with more toilets, as they only seem to have one block in use. Not sure why they have too clean at peak times but they do! Entertainment. We think its great. The staff were friendly and worked hard at giving everyone a good time. There was something for everyone from kids clubs during the day to discos and live music in the bar at night. Thought the bar prices were very fair as last year in Brittany we paid 11 euros for our drinks and this year the same cost 6.50 euros Good pool with shute, play area, volley ball, boules, table tennis. Great coffee. Try the raison croussants. Beach! Close by 5mins walk. Fantastic. Surf, flat sand, kites, lifegaurd patrol, WOW No more to be said.

This site is wonderful for tents not so good for touring caravans. We have a bailey pageant sancerre, narrow access and tight twisting around large pine trees to get to our pitch. Large pitches with good size hedges for privacy, very sandy and not so level. Lucky for us we have a motor mover fitted to our van to manoeuvre it onto our pitch, (58) electricity to our pitch had reverse polarity but the pitches both sides were fine.
The site toilets are cleaned about 4 times a day, usually around 8.30-9am just when all the campsite was waking up. Showers were warm but small, there is a large family shower. There is one elson point in the toilet block, more like a sluce with a grill in the bottom you can just picture that. Nowhere to empty your waste (grey) water. Allowed ours to soak away into the sand via the wastemaster.
Very clean site, fantastic beach just 10 mins walk, at night you can hear the sea crashing on the beach.
It has a small clean child friendly pool, expensive bar (2 pints of lager 10 euros) Internet access is only accessible around the bar area only and costs 2 euros per hour. Friendly staff. All the entertainment was posted up daily in French only.
Fantastic area of France we will come back to this part of France again, to much too see not enough time to see to all

We stayed for a week. The positives: large pitch, private pitch, good shade on some pitches, swimming pool, excellent location near to beach about 5 min walk, friendly staff. Facilities reasonable.
The negatives: entertainment on site every night that often went on beyond midnight which was extremely loud, no chance of going to sleep until it had finished. Some pitches are close to the road and we got noise from people shouting at about 3am on some nights. We have a 2 year old-the playground area is geared towards older children. The pitches are sand. The people on the pitch next to us struggled to get their caravan back off the pitch as it was on a slope as well.

We had a fab time at this site, it was well maintained, pitches were very generous and staff were friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower block was cleaned frequently but the site does not provide toilet paper - you need to take your own. A nice little pool but the main bonus of the site was the location - just a 5-10 minute walk to a great big beautiful beach. There are 2 or 3 snack bars on the beach which were quite expensive - and no loungers on the beach for hire, so take your own mats/ towels. Plenty of space for everybody including swimmers, surfers, kite flyers and those who want only to chill - this beach is perfect for that!
We hired bikes from the site reception and rode both ways - to Longeville, St Vincent and Jard Sur Mer and to La Tranche Sur Mer the other way - all nice towns with various shopping or food and drink opportunities. (You must try the boulangerie in the square at longeville - delicious.) Cycling is the order of the day as there are purpose built cycle tracks away from the road through the forest, making a truly pleasant bike ride for all.
All in all a fantastic site in a great location - if they provided toilet paper I would give them 10 out of 10.
