Just so we are clear, we are very experienced campers and have Scout and Girl Guide camped including digging latrines etc. That said, we must disagree with the last review and some of the others from 2011/12. The camping field with the two PODS has lovely views and is spacious, however the road noise at night is disturbing, we had it from around 4-30AM, also the grass is cut with a non-collecting mower which means that with the dew or dampness you tread in grass to your tent or the facilities.
The facilities (Shower & Toilet block) has to be the worst that we have come across. They are fitted out with a collection of mis-matched items gathered from builder's skips or demolition sales and very badly installed (The urinal cistern is not connected to a water supply so is never flushed). The only gents WC Pan had a bad leak from the pan connection meaning that foul water was dripping on to the surrounding floor. The showers whilst being bare rendered walls and bare concrete floors did not drain well due to the grass that was trod in. Doors did not close properly, there were no mirrors in either the gents or ladies. There had been an attempt to paint the rooms in the past but with no masking up or use of dust-sheets meant that everything was splattered with paint.
Whilst all of the above is unsatisfactory it was the fact that 'cleaning' was not a word that the owner understood. The walls were covered in cobwebs and dirt and the floors were just filthy. Sinks and basins were left uncleaned (One gents basin had toothpaste residue for the whole time we were there (4 Nights). Why did we stay? you ask. Simply it was too hot to strike camp and search for another and we were virtually the only people there so our dog was able to run free, a bonus as fare as we were concerned
It would appear from comparing our experience to earlier reviews that this site and the farm has suffered from both a lack of interest and general maintenance. Whilst it is inexpensive £12 for 2 adults a dog +EHU there were other sites nearby offering the same but with decent, hygenic and acceptable facilities. How this site was able to become a Camping & Caravan Club CL is beyond me
The owner who was very pleasant needs to pull his finger out and sort this site out otherwise he will be very quickly out of business

Very nice friendly people and nice farm, made you feel very welcome and all essential facilities. Very peaceful. Showers, chemical toilet, disposal toilets. All you need and very good price, £10 for 2 adults and a dog. Will definitely recommend to others. The owner was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely free range eggs available electric hook up. Very private and very peaceful. The showers were nice. It was only supposed to be a one night stop over but we decided we would stay longer as we found this camp site to be excellent value for money.

Great campsite! Nice and quiet and plenty of space.
Steve is so welcoming and friendly and can't help you enough!
The showers are basic but sufficient, the ladies bathroom could do with a mirror and mats for the showers to avoid standing on the concrete floor.
Very reasonably priced and good location for croyde, ilfracombe and woolacombe. Lovely views and rural surrounding.
This place has lots of potential and would love to see it marketed slightly better as its great for campers!
We would definitely return again

The showers were hot the toilets were clean.
Steve was such a nice bloke and made you feel relaxed straight away.
Its a working farm with ducks and geese plus chickens and mr cockerel.
Yes its basic but that's the point of camping to get away from it all, no depressing tv just lovely
Views and prices from £10 per night you cant go wrong
Other campers were all friendly and on our last night we were invited by two couples for the best paella I have ever tasted plus drinks thank you.
We have remembered your names.
The town of ilfracombe has everything you need,
Large tesco supermarket, check out the emporium at the end of town it has everything and at very low prices.
The charity shops are brilliant I got a fully water proof jacket with hood for £5 and a blanket
That was brand new 75p.
Has a brilliant value chippy just opposite the tourist centre cod and chips £4.
The pub at Hele was the best value for food up to 2.30pm its £5 per head and beach was stunning and had a tea room and shelters.
The Crown Inn at East Down has really good food if you don't mind splashing out a little bit more.

We visited Brinscott Farm with friends during the May bank holiday weekend. Using our inherited caravan for the first time and with friends in tents we set up camp during lashing rain.
We met Steve the campsite owner whilst setting up when he very kindly lent us an adapter we needed for the electric hook up. A really nice chap, he couldn't be anymore helpful.
The campsite itself is very peaceful (apart from the cockerel!) and at the most there were only ever 5 or 6 units staying.
The facilities are a little rough around the edges but don't let that put you off. The showers were fine and although the toilets could have done with being stocked with toilet paper otherwise they were acceptable.
If you are after a peaceful, relaxed, value for money, pitch where you please, pay whenever you bump into the campsite owner sort of site, you can't go wrong with Brinscott Farm.
If you are after a busy, immaculately maintained, cabaret in the evening sort of campsite then I wouldn't recommend!

Had a great stay here even though the weather was poor.
We had been touring devon on quadbikes and the owner was very welcoming.
We as a club find not many sites like vans parked all day!
Great location as its only 5/10 min drive to the moors or the beaches at woolacombe and croyde
Perfect water temp in the showers as well.this is good for us as we do end up getting wet and cold riding our atvs
Great to see the ducks and chickens roaming around, the kid there at the same time loved feeding and touching them.
Highly recommend, hope to be back

So, first things first, as others have mentioned, this farm-site is basic, consisting of two generous fields and two basic unisex shower / toilet blocks and that's about it.
However don't let that put you off as it is well sited for exploring the area, you pitch wherever you want, it is nice and quiet (we stayed in the middle of the summer holidays and, whilst other sites were overflowing, this one had 6 units at the most at any one time) and is very reasonably priced. The blocks were pretty clean most of the time as well and there was plenty of space for the children to play. The owner was also very friendly and was in no hurry for his money.
On the negative side, as mentioned by others, there is a road at the top of the fields (separated by a large hedge) that could be a little busy at times, but not particularly so after dark - it certainly didn't spoil our stay (that was down to the weather which was rubbish!)
That's all I can say really, apart from the saying that I would be very happy to go back here if ever in the area.

I really liked this campsite. The people who worked there were very laid back and friendly. It was a working farm with a collection of ducks and hens roaming around. Cockerels wake you up and you can buy fresh eggs for breakfast.
The toilets and shower block were very basic but completely functional.
It is a relaxed way of camping, no set pitches so you can camp where you like. You can have a camp fire if you wish.
It is on a fairly busy road so some road noise but that means easy access to Coombe martin, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe.
There is no shop but a fairly large tesco is at Ilfracombe so that covers all supplies.
We were unlucky with the weather and had rain all weekend but I know in sunny weather this site would be amazing.
It is excellent value for money, £5 per adult.
One thing that would make it perfect is an area with some play equipment for the kids.

This campsite was lovely and quiet, and had very reasonable rates at £8 a night. It is a working farm, so it did have some hens and geese walking around, and just opposite us was a field of cows.
The showers and toilets were clean, the owner was very amiable and we would go back again.
