Please note, the owners of this site have advised that it no longer has any touring caravan or motorhome pitches. It is now being developed and has luxury lodges for sale.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Well kept campsite in good location for cycling or walking to cowes and Newport along a concreted track.
Pub also close by.
Very peaceful when we visited and very easy going and friendly owners.
The toilet and showers are very clean.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Ideal site for exploring the Isle of Wight by bike as it is right next to the Cowes - Newport stretch of the Red Squirrel Way, which goes all the way diagonally across to the South East at Shanklin.
The chain ferry (aka floating bridge) gives access to East Cowes and the North East coast and it’s a short (but steep) ride on the main road from there to Osborne House.
The cycle path is well used by cyclists and walkers and we felt a very friendly ambience so unlike what we encounter in London towards bike riders.
The site itself is in a sheltered spot close to the bank of the estuary. It was quiet when we were there and I never encountered another soul using the facilities. Clean with plenty of hot water, they were all we could ask for.
The only addition we’d have found useful was shelter and lights at the washing up point but it wasn’t a problem holding on to the washing up til morning.
There are hard standing sites with hookups which are nice & level and two taps meaning it’s never far to fill up.
The Fisherman’s Rest, a deservedly popular pub- restaurant, is about 2 km away along the Squirrel Way and Newport itself is a 30 minute walk with a full range of interesting shops and eateries, and a bus station giving access to most of the island if you want to minimise your driving.
A great site in a wonderful location.

Plenty of space around pitch.
Quite area and very clean toilets and showers.

From our arrival on site we were made to feel very welcome following a difficult drive from Brighton due to roadworks.
Our pitch had two trees providing shade and the facilities were good and always clean.
It was a pleasant, quiet site on the banks of the river Medina and there was a pleasant walk into Newport along the old railway line.
We will certainly be returning.

The site was clean & tidy,
If the site was full you would need more showers as it was the site was not busy, so we managed ok.
It was quite expensive.
Also some noise from a large coach with there air conditioning running all night

Great campsite, quiet, clean and tidy, stones throw from the river.
Perfect location for us to do the “walk the Wight” as transfer bus picked us up at top of the road.
We enjoyed our stay but I have to say whilst the facilities are functional they could do with updating.

Lovely spot for our short stay.
Very helpful staff, excellent showers and toilets.
Felt safe and secure on site.
Riverside walking, and popular with dog walkers, cyclists and bird watchers.
