A super site which the new owners have invested in. The toilets and showers have been updated and are kept so clean by the warden.
Lovely and peaceful with great views and hillwalking off the site.
The new owners have also unblocked the chemical disposal point which was previously blocked for years and have now attached a hose which is helpful. But the chemical disposal point does need replaced. The walls around the emptying point are falling down and it is totally backbreaking to empty the toilet into this.
It is a good site for tents.
Kintail Craft shop sells groceries.
Eat at the Kintail Pitstop or Kintail Hotel.
The Chocolates of Glenshiel shop next to the site does the most brilliant chocolates, hot chocolate and gifts.

A small campsite, perfectly placed for hikers and hillwalkers, lots of munros, corbetts, grahams and flatter walks within a very short drive, some can even be done from the campsite itself.
The shower/toilet block has been recently refurbished going by reviews from last year and earlier - the womens part has sinks, 2 toilets and 2 spacious shower cubicles (each with clothes hooks and a bench) and was very clean and nice to use. I booked directly online, that way I could turn up any time during the day to pitch my tent - as it's a small site, booking in advance is advisable anyway.
Bays are marked for campervans / caravans / motorhomes, but tents pitches aren't specifically marked, just anywhere on the grassy areas. Campers in tents have to leave their cars in the car park, but it's no hardship, it's literally a few metres from the camping area.
It's just off the A87, so those travelling by public transport can be dropped off close to the campsite entrance by the Citylink bus which goes to/from Skye a few times a day.
It's not a campsite designed for on-site activities, it's one to use as a base for your overnight stays whilst going out elsewhere through the day, whether hiking or going to see local castles, Skye etc.
Not a party site, and not one with a playground or amusements etc, but a great one for hitting the hills.

Excellent location for hiking, both The Saddle and the Five Sisters are very close by.
Pitches well spaced.
Facilities a little tired, but clean and welcome.

If you like camping in the middle of nowhere then this place is right up your street. There's a chocolatier at the junction of the A87 which has closed.
There's a small shop and pub back in Shiel Bridge and that's it.
The site is away from the Road so very quiet.
The facilities are small, 2 showers and 2 WCs each for male and female. Only let down by the inconsiderate people who don't leave them as they would expect to find them!
Peace and quiet by bucketful. Take walking boots and outdoor clothing, there's plenty of walking to be had.
The chap who looks after the site is friendly and helpful. Pity he has to use a petrol driven strimmer! (Not good for the environment!)
It's a tad pricey for what it is at £27 per night though.

Great campsite in a beautiful and peaceful location.
Good sized hard standing pitches with electric hook up, easy to pre book on line and clean facilities.
Everything you need and easy walk to the pub (less than a mile each way).

Loved it here. Great setting. Good facilities. Thankyou
Only one wee thing, could do with shower curtain, to stop water pouring onto floor.
Otherwise, perfect for us

The location of this site is stunning, with pleasant backdrop of the 5 sisters of Kintail and surrounding hills. Well placed for hill walking and cycling.
We used a hard pitch with electric for our campervan and this was fine.
Some of the facilities on the campsite are very basic and could be fixed or improved with little effort. Which rather begs the question of why they haven't been addressed.
- The showers lack proper screening, which results in pools of surface water on the concrete floor which lacks proper drainage. The water pools are both irritating and a slip hazard.
- Putting up hooks in the showers (quick win) would make them more pleasant to use.
- Lack of on-site recycling and waste bins. There is a council glass bottle recycling in the car park further down the road, but not cardboard/plastic. This is just unacceptable.
- Lots of dead insects in toilets (as per other reviews). This should be addressed and/or regularly cleaned.
- One single unattached mirror between 3 sinks, in both male & female toilets. Didn't have a problem with the mirror - just need 4 more of them?
- Paypal firewall. You need to have a paypal account to be able to book. (I do, but others may not). More flexible payment options would seem reasonable and be more 'inclusive'?
Overall I'd really like to see the campsite do well and succeed. I appreciate that it has just opened this year and some of these may be teething issues.
However with the present facilities I feel the lower prices would be fairer. It feels like the management are cashing in on current high demand for camping spaces without giving a fair return.
I look forward to returning once they have "upped their game".

Excellent location for glen shiel Munros. New management from 2021. Toilets were clean. Friendly helpful warden, and we had a very rapid reply to our booking enquiry.
Nice grassy area for tents. There's no shop at the campsite anymore, but there's a shop within walking distance which is open till 10 and sells all the basics (Northwards along the a87, but you can walk there on the old road and pavement).
Site is somewhat midgy, but that's to be expected on windless evenings in August!
Everything you need in a campsite.

Stunningly beautiful site, very peaceful with walks into the hills direct from tge site. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather which made our experience even better in our campervan
We booked online & you open the gate to drive on site then someone checks you in the evening
This site has newly opened & the showers do spray well out over the trays also a couple of hooks for your soap bag would be an advantage though there is a wooden seat to leave clothes on the spray from the shower does fall on this area
We had no children with us but I see no problem, there is a lovely clear river over the fence & we saw people swi. Ming further up in a deeper pool, we found it ideal for our spaniel to cool off from the heat
Short drive to Kyle & a cross to Skye or further north towards Gairlich & Ullapool

The campsite is basic but it is camping! Good shower, an ideal area for climbs.
John was very helpful when needed after arriving a day late and very late pitch due to car breakdown on the way there. Shop and fuel on site.
Yes, it is basic but that's all you need. Will be using again when walking again.
Beware of midges because in Scotland summertime they are rampant.
Thank you John
