We were catching the ferry back to Portsmouth from St Malo and stayed for 2 nights.
A visit to the walled city is a must.
The campsite is basic but the pitches are generous and the location is ideal.
There are a few restaurants in the square, the food in the Swedish one was brilliant.
St Malo is well worth a visit and the campsite and surrounding area is an ideal stop over.

Cite D’Alet (Camping St Malo) is a very good, value for money, large site, within walking distance to the City Centre of St Malo (40 mins max) ….
A burger van arrived on site Sunday night, & served up one of the best beef burgers that I have ever tasted ! ….
There is also a small snack-bar caravan that is open further mornings ….
The facilities block is rather dated, but spacious, & kept immaculately clean, with good water pressure & free to use showers - what more do you want ? - recommended ….

Location of the site is great looking out over the port. We stayed for 1 night ready for our ferry the next morning. When we woke up we could just see the top of the ferry docked in the port from our caravan pitch.
Roads through St Malo are quite tight once you’re off the main route so it’s worth having a look at the route on Google maps before getting there. We had some quite tight roads with the caravan and had a diversion right near the campsite.
Staff in reception spoke great English and were very friendly.
Toilet blocks are quite dated and could do with a bit of a refurb but with only paying £24 per night you can’t expect a lot. They were clean though. Toilet roll is not provided in the toilets so be prepared to take your own.
Great campsite for one night but wouldn’t have wanted a longer stay purely due to toilet block.

Fantastic location for access to st malo.
Travelled with bike & tent & tried to book online. Their site couldn't complete a reservation, however following an email I was reassured they can always make space for cycle-rando visitors.
Lively at weekends with entertainment and a sheltered bar.

Stayed to be near Brittany Ferries for morning departure.
Very busy campsite, a bit of noise at night but as someone else said it is 'vibrant'! and people just happily enjoying themselves, with live music and a pop-up bar up near the fort.
We'd already had several weeks of peace and tranquillity on other sites so didn't mind this for 4 nights.
Sanitaires a little grubby at times, but the site was very busy and it had been raining. The showers were surprisingly good - hot and plentiful.
Would happily go back if needed to be at St Malo again.

Excellent location a lovely 30/40 minute walk into St Malo.
Yes the pitches can be a bit uneven but we all have plenty of blocks yes one toilet block is old but it was clean and had plenty of hot water.
Yes there is a bar which has a great sea view and good priced drinks it has music but doesn’t seem to disturb people lovely sunset. A different food van visits every evening.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
It’s a vibrant campsite full of people enjoying life.
Loved it we’ll be back.
Can’t believe how many people left negative reviews in 2020/2021 they are not deserved.

Very well situated site.
We managed to book via email and bank transfer. There does not seem to be any online booking.
It seems quite a Boho sort of place with a mix of clientele. It is also a bit bizarre as it seems to be part of the local area with street names etc and locals and tourists wandering through. It was secure though.
Some of the pitches are sloping but this is OK with a small tent. If I had a larger tent I would want to be on the marina side of the site. This is flat and also has better sanitaires.
There are two sanitaires. One in the wooded part is newer and has the washing machines etc. The ones near the MH facilities and the crazy golf seem to be sited in an old bunker and are very tired and smelly. Use the newer ones and remember toilet paper.
It is well set up for hikers and cycle tourers. If cycling ask for a cycle pitch. There is room for your tent and a place to secure your bike. The pitches are close to the newer sanitaires as well. Hikers and cycle tourers can also recharge their power banks etc at a little shelter next to reception but you have to sit with your gear as it isn't manned.
They do baguettes etc if you book and there is also an outside bar and food trucks with live music. This gets very busy with locals as well as campers. There was a very nice atmosphere. On the Sunday there was a flea market on site. A shame we were hiking so couldn't buy much to carry. I did get a vintage gas stove though.
As I said, it felt like part of the town which I liked. The old citadel is at the top, a national monument and there are bunkers and armoured emplacements dotted around. The armoured cupolas show extensive hits by armoured piercing shells. Unfortunately the tour of the underground galleries was not available due to Covid.
St Malo is a pleasant 30 minutes walk away and the local area is lovely. Situation wise the site is very good. We like the atmosphere and would come for a longer stay. Just avoid the old sanitaires.
