We stayed here for 7 days, it was a beautiful little caravan site. The view was stunning. The owners were friendly enough but didn't bother us. They let us decide where we wanted to set up. The grass was well cut and the hard standing was perfectly adequate for our needs. The local shop was down a steep hill so would not suit anyone with mobility issues. We had a lovely bike ride from Robin Hood Bay to Ravenscar on the Cinder path, which goes to Whitby or Scarborough for the more energetic cyclist. Loved this site so much I didn't want to leave.

This was the second time we visited this site. I believe it has changed hands since our first visit, but I can honestly say that it is still a fantastic little site. The owners are extremely nice and helpful, and I've read the comment about the dog but once you've met her she's beautiful and we had no problems with her at all. (we only saw her when we went to pay and was very well behaved) please don't let that review put you off a fantastic site with wonderful views of the coast.

The site is lovely, view of the headland great. Owners really friendly however quite difficult to get in touch with - wasn't a problem off peak season but best to book we think. The hardstandings were 100% fine, paying each day was fine. Basic no frills site but was just right for us. We'd go back no problem.

Very disappointing weekend indeed.
The pitches were totally waterlogged which is understandable after all the rain we have experienced but we thought this CS had hard standings so we did not worry about the recent wet weather.
The pitches cannot really be described as hard standings and are not suitable for Motorhomes as the are a small area of hardcore/gravel with two run ups leading too them which have not bee maintained and are mainly muddy grass area between the small gravel area and the road.
We visited some years ago when the pitches were small but well maintained but now gravel has disappeared and the grass is growing over it.
I would have appreciated a call telling me the pitches were very wet and we would not have driven for Two hours to the site. We spent a night parked on the gravel road as we would have grounded the van had we attempted to use a pitch.
I phoned the owner twice but she did not respond to my message. She did not reply to my text message either. No one answered the door at the house and like the person who left the previous review we had to leave money in an envelope in a porch area which was unlocked.
We reluctantly left the full asking price even though we didn't have a proper pitch just a hook up. There was no one to discuss a reduction in price with!
We left after one night as at £16 a night it's day light robbery and I do not understand how the Camping and Caravan Club can endorse this site.
We do not need looking after when we are away but I do expect a reasonable pitch and some contact with the proprietor as its common courtesy to check if your customers are happy.
This could be a brilliant spot with some TLC and some involvement from the owners but people are not going to pay £16 to £20 a night for a rubbish stay. Even if the view is fantastic!

Very strange stay. First time at this site.
Email re time of arrival and departure not responded to before I left. Had to text.
Texts sent during stay about payment – never responded to.
The site is a field next to the house, which I presume is lived in by the owners.
There was no communication from them at all during the entirety of my 4-night stay.
There has been previous comment about lack of communication with the owners.
There have been no reviews since November 2014 which seems strange.
I appreciate that the owners cannot be expected to be in all the time, but there was no effort put into my stay, for which I paid £16 per night.
I saw two people in the house for quite some time on 13th and one drove past me on that day too, but there was no acknowledgement.
On the night/morning of November 11/12 some people, who I presume to have been the owners, returned to the house at 1. 30am, from what seems to have been a party, given the amount of balloons!
They made so much noise getting into the house that it woke me up.
I don’t expect noiseless sites but this was a bit thoughtless, especially as it was the owners/their friends making the noise.
The site has extremely small hard-standing areas which do not allow you to stand on dry ground before you get into your unit.
There was no signage but in a shed I found a notice that asked visitors to fill in a form, (none were available) and post it and the money, cash if possible, at the house.
I could not find a letter-box at the house so had to leave the cash in the porch which was open to anyone. There was no receipt or record of my payment.
Also in the shed were 5 different, old, damp leaflets, about the surrounding area. The 2 that were dated, said 2014.
There was no emergency information such as the nearest GP, hospital and vet. These details are essential.
Maybe the owners feel that visitors like to be left alone.
I just feel that to be ignored completely, is taking things a little too far.
I don’t expect to be entertained during my stay but I would have liked to have been made to feel welcome.

I had no problem getting hold of the owner to book. Straight away she told me that there were no shower or toilet facilities.
On arrival I spoke to her again. Although I paid straight away she was very laid back about the timing of the payment.
The site is as described. Small and basic with amazing views.
In our dealings with the family we found them to be really polite and friendly.
Would benefit from better draining and slightly wider hard standing.
The site and child friendly facility scores are not a criticism and really not applicable. However am unable to proceed leaving them blank.

Stunning views from caravan window
Ten minutes walk to robin hoods bay
Would recommend this site to anybody
Easy distance to whitby and scarborough
Local pubs good and local butcher also does excellent pizzas delivered

New Owners- we had previously visited this site and like all previous reviews we loved it. However New Owners. Price has gone up to £16 per night, ok fair enough they have put a new fence up. They are rather hard to get hold off and prefer you to ring rather than knock on the house door to pay. Was very abruptly told that once they get water to their new shed 'they can charge what they want then'. Also be warned their dog twice this last week visited our awning which was fastened up and ransacked it also emptying our bin and tipping out and eating our own dogs food, complained and was ignored, even though was witnessed by other campers. Had to keep chasing their dog away whilst we were sat outside and was left with 2 presents of poo just at side of our pitch, lovely. We will not be going back which is a shame cos was lovely when the previous owners had it. (please also note little shop has now closed)

What a fantastic site. No problems getting in or out of the site. It took about 20min to walk to Robin Hood's Bay (down hill going and up hill returning).
They only have 5 units which makes it very quiet. The views are superb and the added farm animals make it a real treat.
I can't emphasise how great this site is. All staff very helpful and Robin Hood's Bay is lovely. All this for £13 a night with electric. What a site!
