We've just come back from a lovely weekend at Belmont Hall camping. The road signs were not great but luckily we spotted the AA sign at the entrance. The approach is a long gravel driveway through lovely grounds with fishing lakes and mature oak trees. We were booked onto pitch no 9 and found our way easily as all the pitches are well signposted.

The pitch was a 'Lake view' pitch and looked out over a uninterrupted views of the lake and countryside. The pitch itself was a van sized hardstanding and good size grass area next to it. It was a fully serviced pitch with electricity included.

There was a shower block with separate male and female toilets and showers, as well as a unisex block. I didn't go into the unisex block but the female shower was spotless and well laid out with plenty of clothes hooks, sink, toilet, shower and shower stool. My husband said he found the male shower to be spotless too. The water was on a push button and was nice and hot.

At night I would advise taking a torch as some areas are quite dark but I like the lack of light pollution. There was a resident owl nearby who was hooting during the night but it didn't disturb us. In fact the site is very peaceful after 10pm and we had a really good sleep.

Our dog enjoyed walking in the surrounding fields which were well cared for. There was a large bin for rubbish and the site was neat and tidy.

The area has plenty of shops and supermarkets a short drive away. We also had a visit to the Anderton Boat lift, which is very dog friendly and has a cafe too.

We really enjoyed our trip and will definitely visit again. I would advise to book onto a "Lake View" pitch if you prefer not to look over other vans.

We didn't see the wardens during our trip but they answered the phone when we had a query.

Excellent camp site, well maintained, great facilities, clear signage, spacious pitches on freshly mowed lawns,

My only disappointment was the fishing on Oak lodge was not what I expected, it was covered in Lillie’s, very shallow and limited access,

Apart from that we had a great time

Well kept site but no reception or Warren around. Upon arrival had to rely on other campers for instructions.

Under flight path for ? Manchester/ Liverpool so noisy plus road noise.

Toilets & showers kept clean and very warm but only one male, one female and one unisex shower.

Several supermarkets about 10 minutes away.

No internet so if you rely on kindle ensure you download your books before you go.

Site became very busy at the weekend and very noisy.

Easy access to many places of interest and overall a lovely stay.

Lovely hard standing pitch in the middle of countryside with a gorgeous lakeside view and lucky enough to have a stunning sunset.

Spotlessly clean and great communication.

Will definitely return.

A nice peaceful site with toilets and showers, it has a washer and tumble dryer, and a sink for washing up your pots.

We used it as a base for visiting National Trust sites in the area.

Overall a nice clean site we will use it again when we go back that way.

1st stayed on this site 8 years ago, in the depths of winter. Facilities then were great, clean, warm and wardens very helpful. Views lovely.

Returned 10/09/2022. Asked for a grass pitch, ehu, views of the fishing lake and the pitch we were then allocated was perfect. £20 for grass pitch with EHU.

Facilities were spotless, hot shower, and great indoor washing up area. Messages to Wardens answered quickly and they were so accommodating.

Quiet dog and family site in a lovely area.

I would highly recommend.
