Absolutely loved it, I felt safe to let my children go and play in the 2 parks,

The shower blocks was well cleaned and regular,

I’ve looked to go back in a few week but it’s full, or would be definitely going back.

Apart from the Shop on site that’s only open at certain times,

It’s a nice 10 minute walk to Tesco express, my son needed 1st aid due to an accident that happened off site and was seen to within 5 minutes, it’s great value for money.

My son went on the inflatable activity on the lake,

This booked up pretty quick, there wasn’t enough availability for us all so would advise to book in advance.

Wouldn't advise staying here. No amenities open at weekend and couldn't even walk round the water park. Female toilet door was wedged open and could do with a good clean. Things were stolen if left out overnight. The Only camera is on the Entrance/Exit, while gaps in the perimeter fence near to a large field means anyone can enter without being seen, making it unsafe. Never saw any staff walk round to check on things. Its also very difficult to get some sleep because of the volume of traffic on the motorway, so I'm not a happy camper!

Lovely site. 2 good kids play areas in view of most of the pitches, good one way path system that the kids can use with their scooters/bikes.

Close to motorway network but we didn't notice any car noises.

Showers do need a little updating but clean, warm and fit for purpose. They use a fob system which you pay a deposit for and honestly it was not a problem. We prefer it as people have to supervise their kids in the toilet block ( we've all stayed on sites where kids have got up to mischief) if your kid isn't responsible enough to look after a fob then they still need to be supervised.

Fire pits are allowed on site but you must bring your own wood/ twigs to burn.

There is a list of site rules including fires out by 10. 30pm and no noise after 11. 00pm. All the rules are reasonable and didn't bother us at all.

Site manager is a caravanner / camper so more then happy to lend a hand and he really is accommodating.

We had a night out at the Doncaster dogs (was a total blast) so we were a few mins late for curfew but it wasn't an issue.

It felt like we were camping in the woods, the site layout is lovely. Pitches a good size.

We had so much fun we booked again on the way home.

Worth more then what we paid (felt like we'd robbed them).

As we were leaving they were starting the season activities, so looking forward to some kayaking and wall climbing on our next visit

Stayed here over the August Bank holiday and we have had a lovely time. The park was busy but not over crowded, the pitch was spacious. The staff were lovely friendly and helpful, we had a problem with our van and the staff helped us sort it (even though they didn't have to). Electric hook up and water were all included in the price, the toilet block was fine but the showers could do with a little tlc, we would definitely return here.

We spent this Easter weekend here with two other families we often camp with.

The site is well laid out and certainly the pitches on the outer part of the site are a lovely large size. It is lovely and quiet allowing the kids to cycle round the site and visit the play ground which is modern and certainly seemed to be well liked.

An adjoining field is massive and allows you all to play whatever games you want without fear of a ball hitting anything.

Saturday morning the centre did activities for the kids which they enjoyed and we felt offered value for money.

We all used Electric and the 10A supply was spot on, as was the price per night.

However, due to been close to the M18 and M180 there was traffic noise, admittedly once you got used to it most of us forgot about it.

Sadly the facilities were lacking in a huge way. The building was dated and not very clean (it has to noted that some campers did not help matters leaving food in the pot washing sinks and toilet paper in the urinals etc. ), all weekend there was little, to NO hot water to either wash, shower or just do the pots. The Manager told us we had just been unlucky.

Another disappointing aspect especially as it is a DMBC site is there was no recycling.

Overall this could be a wonderful site it just needs to improve in certain areas and spend money on it, even if this means increasing prices.

Just returned from a weekend using this site for the 1st time. Read previous bad reviews on here but the site itself wasn't too bad. Nice large pitches, flat-ish if you can manage to dodge the mole hills to get your caravan level but they cant be helped! Small things let this site down that have made us decide not to return: Taps don't have a pipe connected so its hard to fill your cannisters and there's a sign saying no pipes allowed to be fitted! Toilets & showers are outdated and dirty with a hefty £20 to pay for a fob but the doors to the Gents & Disabled don't lock anyway so the fob is waste of time, ladies door was wedged open 24/7 using a bin! There was quite a lot of rubbish around the play area but it was secure with a fence and gate around it. Good walking around the site with a massive flat field adjoining the site, great for dogs and the football etc. There's also a little BMX track & skate ramp on there which is good but I'm guessing this field doesn't belong to the camp site as the local kids/teenagers were there too. Nice village nearby with good takeaways and a small Tesco's incl cash machine. Previous reviews said the lane was full of pot holes but this must have now been sorted as there was no sign of this. Overall this site is ok but for a few pound more per night we've stayed at sites with much newer & cleaner facilities, it depends what you want but it is bang next to the motorway so don't expect total peace & quiet! No shop on site so you have to go into the village for milk etc and there's also no barrier or any obvious means of security when entering or leaving. Anyone could quite happily turn up or arrive here

To book this site you have to pay in full at the time of booking and they don't have a cancellation policy in place. I enquired about cancelling a few days before we were due to arrive to be told that full funds are lost if you cancel, no matter what notice you give. There's nothing on their website to inform you about cancelling which I think is wrong

After reading all the reviews we went with an open mind. Well what a gem, excellent entrance, great facilities all round, no wonder it is empty with those poor reviews, just wondering if they did that on purpose to keep it to themselves (Oops). We went May Bank Holiday and it was only 1/3rd full which was such a shame for them.

Yes it is run by the council, but they cut the grass on arrival on the Thursday night and cleaned the litter that other campers / caravanners had left, shame they did not use the bins, plenty of those(at least they kept somebody in work). Plenty of space for your children to let off steam (3 play areas, skateboard park, cycle jump area plus acres of grassland) but could not believe the 11pm curfew as the site went so quiet then.

Plenty of dog walks and to let them run about and play. Lots and I mean lots of pubs and restaurants and cheap shops nearby, even the Fish and Chips deliver.

Pitches well sign posted and lit, you get a pitch/entrance fob and key fob for the toilet block and Chemical Disposal (£20 refundable), you can get a more fobs with deposits. We did find that people tried to come for free (having purchased extra toilet fobs (without returning) but they did get removed). Well at £13. 50 per night 2013, 365 days a year, it is a great find even if you just want to try out the caravan as very level pitches.

A good find. Did not know what to expect re bad reviews about the shower and toilet facilities, which were not that bad I have seen worse. This site has everything and a little more. Flat clean pitches, lighting at the power points and plenty of room so your not on top of each other. There is also day activities for the lake and climbing wall which will be something we book for next year. New manager, so hopefully they will give the shower block a little re vamp.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The road on to the pitches is full of potholes and difficult to tow a caravan across, by the time I pulled on the the pitch, the inside of the van looked like I had been burgled! the pitch is a good size but I had to clear dog muck off it before I could put up an awning, the grass was also in need of a cut. 10 amp electricity on the hook up, liked the idea on the site diagram you are given it gives you the amps for the kettle, microwave etc. I was concerned that there was no one at reception after 6pm and anyone could pull on and drive round. Children's area ok for younger children. Need to book for activities on the lake.

The toilet block was disappointing, not cleaned regularly. There used to be a warden on site and it was a great little site, but sadly it has been allowed to deteriorate. Local shops include an Asda & a couple of pubs within walking distance. Easy access off the motorway.

Overall not a bad little site, ok for a weekend away

This site was run down and dirty, dogs were allowed to roam free consequently there was dog dirt everywhere. Bins were overflowing & the lock on the ladies toilets were broken, in the shower there was litter & the toilets were dirty.

The barriers weren't working so anyone could turn up in the middle of the night.

There is no caretaker or on-site supervision

The site seemed to be home to two families of travellers who went to work in their pick ups during the day.

Electric point didn't work, when reported to staff they blamed me for having caravan electrics on when hooking up causing electric to trip out which wasn't the case.

Chemical toilet cleaning block was just a large toilet which no-one seemed to flush.

There is a children's playground but due to the fact that anyone can access the site at any time it doesn't seem safe.

Motorway not far from site so very noisy.
