August 2005 Just returned from a 3 day/night stay and what a joy. The prices were reasonable at £10.50/night with hookup. After booking previously and paying for stay on arrival we were allocated nice flat grass pitches for our tents with electric hookup. The site is council run with a barrier system with key needed at nights for a refundable deposit of £10. Although we still felt that a more secure perimiter fence was needed as the general public could wander on/off site. The free indoor toilets, showers and washing facilities are all in 1 main building and have ample hot water and are cleaned and maintained daily by the seemingly overworked warden and his wife. There are ample water points.T he bins were full and overflowing but kept tidy and are emptied weekly. There are pitches for hookup and nonhookup which some people found ants were a major problem, even though we had lots of ants in our pitch we seemed to cope fine. We met up with another family there who have 2 young children and we have 3 young children. There is a small childs play area giving the younger ones at least something to do. But the highlight for the kids (and adults at least) is having the use of the lake, which is only a few hundred yards from the site, for most boating / windsurfing fun, all at a reasonable price. I spent a days fishing on the water which was good sport also, but felt let down a bit on the short closing times and the lack of having only 5 pegs on such a big water. The site is within a short driving distance of Armthorpe which has a swimming pool for all, which the warden tells me is hopefully in the campsites future, providing a free pass to swimming. The warden was ever so helpful and always willing to give more than good advise. Although we hope his future plans (if he remains there)of banning all kids ball games etc on site, do not ever come into action ,as we felt this played a major part in the happiness of all kids. All in all, we had a great time and highly recommend this place and hope to be returning for many a future visit. 8/10 for a family camping trip ;)

June 2005 Just returned from a long weekend at Hatfield Water Park and I can honestly say it is excellent. The staff who work there are very friendly and so are the Wardens who look after the site. The toilets and shower area are a bit small but very clean. Will be definately be going back.

2002 This place is great. Its run by Doncaster Council and is very reasonably priced. Large scenic grounds, and a huge lake where you can go kayaking, windsurfing etc. 5 mins walk to shops. Good play facilities for kids, and a large field next door for exercising pets. Staff are very friendly. We have been there 3 times this year so far, and have not had one bad experience. If you need a power hookup be sure to ring before you set off ( if you're arriving after 5pm) and ask them to make sure it's turned on as they sometimes forget.
