This is a great location. Both caravans and campervan/motorhome spots sit looking right out to sea, with views of Islay, Jura and Northern Ireland.
There's a nice sandy beach to camp, walk with the dogs on or just chill and enjoy the sunsets.
Facilities are perhaps 'frill free' but extend to good clean toilets and (hot) showers, a washing up station, some board games and books, some beach toys for kids, water spigots and EHU.
There's no staff on site (owner is friendly and stops by at least daily to check in with you) or store, but there's 2 shops within 10 minutes and Campbeltown itself is around 20-25 minutes away.

We wanted a simple seaside site and this ticked the box in spades!
Owner Anne was very friendly and responsive from initial enquiry to us leaving. It's a small site so booking is essential.
There's perhaps 3 dozen static caravans on the slope from the road to the sea. There's about 12 touring pitches just next to the shore. All are grass and all have access to hookup.
The ground is hard and rubbly - rock pegs would be advisable - I had a few, fortunately. Having said that, I was very glad of my Delta Ground Anchors because the wind was relentless!
When we arrived a strong westerly made pitching a challenge. Sadly we had to pitch facing away from the sea. During our stay the wind swung around to the North so we were broadside on - I doubled up on guys to be safe! It was cold. Is this June or January?
The facilities were clean and the water very hot, which was welcome. I never had to queue for anything. As others have said, the washup is exposed and would benefit from some shelter.
This site is all about the location - it is literally a few steps from the ocean. Our dog loves a good swim and this was perfect for him. A perfect base for exploring the Kintyre peninsular and lots of walks.
There is a local shop and cafe (great breakfast) in Glenbarr - about 1 mile away - and a brisk 2 mile walk South along the beach to the Argyll Hotel, where we had a good dinner in the dog friendly pub.
This site is exposed so be prepared for the weather. If you don't have a sense of humor you shouldn't be camping!

Our first visit to this lovely little site,
The location is incredible just by the beautiful beach and wonderful sunsets.
The facilities are clean and Anne is welcoming and extremely helpful.
We certainly will be returning to enjoy hours of walking along the beach again.

Another great stay at this site, Ann is always welcoming and friendly, seen on site throughout the day to speak to if you have any questions.
Direct access the the lovely sandy beach which we access everyday due to the lovely weather.
Showers ETC are kept clean and tidy only issue for me is the dish washing facility, could do with a shelter of some kind for the rainy days, fortunately the times we have visited it’s been great weather.

Genuine welcome from Ann, the owner, who came to see us once we had set up on the allocated pitch, easily recognised by our name on a pitch marker.
All tourer pitches are on the front row, level and have electrics.
The toilet and showering facilities were very clean.
The sandy beach was directly below us but access was by a short track which also allowed access to a longer beach to the south of the site.
Our 4 days passed quickly in wonderful weather in an area with plenty to see and do on both east and west Kintyre.
Quiet site which we would be happy to book up again.

What a fantastic site, views across to Islay and Ireland.
Facilities absolutely spotless and the site owner Anne was so helpful.
Can get a bit breezy as quite exposed.

Beautiful location overlooking the beach.
Facilities spotless, loads of hot water.
It would have been good to have the washing up sink enclosed in a little shed, 45mph winds and horizontal rain made doing the dishes a little challenging!
Had to tie our tent to towbar but Ann was very attentive and checked we were ok more than once.
Dogs loved the beach,
We would visit again.

Booked Killegruer when I couldn’t contact the original site planned and so very glad I did.
Beautiful location right on the shore. Lovely Sandy beach to walk along and chance of spectacular sunsets. Far enough off the road to not hear the traffic just the sound of the waves.
Our pitch was flat enough not to chock. Lovely owner who popped by to say hello on arrival even though pitch was reserved with our name and when we left she called in even though pouring to say goodbye. Very welcoming.
Facility block old but spotlessly clean. Ideal for getting the Gigha ferry which we did to cycle the length of the island. Recommend the village shop there for takeaway coffee and varieties of gin they sell! Also a meal at the boathouse is a must.
We didn’t have time to visit the community run gardens but a recommended day out. Site is also well placed for touring Kintyre. Good village shops at Glenbarr and Muasdale and Tesco in Campbeltown.
A great base for touring the area and relaxing by the sea which is probably why it was fully booked even in early May.
Thoroughly recommend this site.
