 Just home from 3 nights on site.
Pitch on top area of site was level and large, setting is lovely, bench table and fire tray are a nice touch.
Facilities are tired, but owners work hard to make the best of them.
Yes, the access is narrow - so drive slowly and pay attention!
We'd definitely come back but would come back sooner if the toilets and showers were updated!

This is a lovely site situated up in the hills, surrounded by nothing but trees, hills and wildlife. Very pretty in many ways.
The owners are friendly and work hard to keep the site clean and tidy, and at a decent price too.
Toilet block is fine, simple, but clean and in working order. If the site ever gets very busy however, I suspect the facilities may be a little small, but I don't see this as a huge detraction from the site.
On the few nights I was there, I was greeted by goats, and frogs, which I very much enjoyed, and I'm sure much more had I spent longer there. Access to the site is down a small lane, and therefore is very quiet and pleasant.
About 5-10 minute drive down to the closest shop, but Harlech isn't much further.
Good walking is possible directly from the campsite, although some public paths are little used and can be somewhat difficult to navigate in the middle of summer.
Pitches are flat, and I didn't come across too many stones when driving my pegs into the ground, which was very handy.
All in all a very pleasant visit, and it was nice to remind myself of the site, considering the last time I visited I was a lot younger.
Hopefully it won't be such a long time before I get to go again!

Loved all of it. Quiet, spacious, beautiful and friendly, relaxed.
Used the fire pit and wood available to buy on site.
So much woodland and streams to wander around.

Too short - wished I had planned to stay longer. Us - Dad and his two eldest teenagers (15 and 16) - all in a 3 man dome tent. Most of North Wales campsites where either fully booked, closed or you needed your own "facilities". Nice welcome.
This place is really out the way but that makes it special. However, you can run up to Porthmadog (20 minutes ish) for a big town shop at Tesco. We picked up a cheap bag of ice each day which kept the food chilled and cider cold. In the opposite direction is the London House Stores, Dyffryn Ardudwy which has won awards for its' sausages.
Harlech castle is close by. Numerous walks and great beaches a short drive away. There is the Victoria Inn in LLanbedr a short drive which does food. Pitches have been separated for self isolating.
We took the option for a fire pit, wood sold on site and I even managed to turn it into a pizza oven with tin foil. I used the underneath shelf, a baking tray from my gas cooker, made fresh dough using a bread mix from supermarket just add water and a Sicilian method of baking the base first then adding toppings and cooking. Great bit of fun and getting away from it all. Oh and don't forget marshmallows and sticks to cook them on.
Chocolate dipping sauce - chocolate, double decker bar, crunchie bar mashed up and dash of milk then melted together in a pan by the fire - yummy !
The site sign shows it as a 3 star and facilities are clean but not numerous. However, with near capacity we did not find ourselves queing apart from washing up. Be wary as the site can get midgy so take a decent repellent and wear long sleeves and trousers especially evening times. Mind did not spoil trip.
Only niggle was the static caravans which caused light pollution as when the sky cleared at night the porch lights were very bright. Maybe if they get the porch lights on motion detectors and blackout curtains on the main rooms - you would have an awesome place for sky watching at night.
Though stay was short when cloud cleared at night it was very good and even managed to see two shooting stars.

The location of this site is amazing. It is very peaceful and quiet. The downside is the facilities, they were in need of updating and not particularly clean. However we survived 3 nights here and I wish we could go back to that location but not until the facilities are sorted out.

I was encouraged to use this site by all the glowing reviews. Having been there, let me present my alternative opinion.
Firstly, it is up a 3.5 miles single track lane on which you pray you are not going to meet anyone coming the other way. You have to negotiate this every time you go out anywhere, and when you return. There is also a gate at the entrance of the site where you have to stop and get out to open and close it each time.
There are three camping areas. The main one is overlooked by a line of static caravans all down one side, that put me off right away. Each tent pitch has a picnic table and a metal barbecue, consequently you end up using the same bit of ground that other tents before yours have occupied. OK so the site was almost empty when I was there, but I still felt obliged to go in one of the pitches rather than having the freedom to go anywhere at all.
At the bottom of the main area are the 'glampers' - two large bell tents - which are also nearest to the only facilities.
One of the other tent areas is at the top end of the aforementioned main area, where it is a good trek away from the facilities. The other tent area is down a short track at the bottom end of the main area, it is also away from the facilities. Both of these areas are encircled by trees, which makes them feel rather claustrophobic.
What really put me off the site, though, was the fact that there is only one wc and one shower in the mens' washroom. While these are clean, the building itself has seen better days.
All in all, I did not like the site, and I would not return.

Have you ever dreamed of finding the perfect campsite to suit you? We have visited places that seemed to fit the bill and then something spoils it. Well, we've just spent four nights at our perfect campsite, and nothing spoiled it. It's in a stunningly beautiful area lacking the hordes of the Snowdonia honeypots; there is no traffic noise; the facilities are excellent and clean;the friendly welcoming owners have shown much thoughtfulness in many little ways around the site (picnic bench and firepit for every pitch, swings in the trees etc); there is zero tolerance of anti-social behaviour; we didn't need to use the car but could walk to the beach and into the Rhinog mountains from the site past waterfalls and the lovely Cwm Bychan lake and Roman Steps. I could go on (and on) but would only repeat what other reviewers have already said. We shall be returning to Dinas as soon as possible.

What a wonderful campsite! I've visited several times and love coming back. The field is pretty flat and every pitch has its own picnic table/bench. Fire-boxes are available for hire and the owner sells well-seasoned logs. (I normally bring my bbq grill and do much of my cooking over the fire). There is not an abundance of showers but I have rarely needed to wait more than a few moments, even during a bank holiday weekend. The water is always piping hot and showers are free. The washing up area has two sinks with equally hot water. For a small donation, ice packs can be frozen in the farmhouse freezer, near which there is also a tumble drier and a payphone. (Don't expect to be able to use your mobile on the site; the signal is non-existent. ) Einir and Gordon, the owners, are very friendly and will make you feel welcome. (Call at the farmhouse when you first arrive. )
The surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of walking nearby and clean beaches with stunning views.
If you want lots of buzz, don't come here; this is the perfect place to enjoy being outdoors in relative peace and quiet.

This is a quiet, family run, family friendly site. The pitches are well spaced and the site is broken up by trees (some with rope swings which my children loved) which provide shelter from the wind in bad weather. The location is ideal for walkers, with footpaths leading off from the site. The beach is a short drive away down twisty narrow lanes, which really make you feel you have escaped from the business of life.
The campsite toilet, shower and washing-up facilities were busy but cleaned several times a day and were well maintained. Phone signal is poor on the site, but a short walk up the hill by the campsite allows you to communicate with the outside world!
We appreciated the option to rent a fire pit for the week.
The owners wre very friendly and helpful and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Just had a couple of days on this beautiful peaceful campsite the location was stunning. The toilet blocks were very clean and the disabled toilet and shower were very good as my wife is disabled as some sites the disabled facilities are not as good because my wife has to step over into the shower. The owner was very helpful even to the extent of charging my wife's mobility scooter battery. We will be recommending to family and friends
