This site is sold on its lakeside views which is true if you get a pitch on the first two terraces. The pitches there are not over large and as the hedge between only covers part of the divide you are very open to what your neighbours are doing. At the top of the site the pitches are open and give a wonderful view across to the lovely old walled town of Langres. In between there is not a view.
Apart from the top of the site it all felt very crammed in.
The staff in the reception speak English and are business like and efficient. There is a restaurant, swimming pool and small shop. There is a gate from the site down to the lake which involves a lot of steps.
I felt it was a good stop off point; easy to find and easy access but not somewhere I would want to stay for any length of time.

Nice site and location overlooking lake with watersports and a bouncy activity area for all.
Pitches were fine for us but some sloping and levelling certainly required. We had serviced pitch so could hook up water and waste and had views over lake as pitches are terraced.
Useful shop and bar and food area nice enough. Pool seemed to work fine for kids with a fun slide separate to main pool. Bouncy castle and play area and some horses all on site. ,
Not sure I would stay there for extended holiday, lots of seasonal mobile homers on site some noise one night till late but lovely stopover

After a colder than normal fortnight in France we booked a chalet here for 3 nights to treat ourselves (and dry off the tent) before we went home. Sadly, despite paying a four star price for a chalet, it didn't feel much like a treat.
On arrival the reception was friendly but business like. No mangager stopped by the chalet after a few hours to check everything was in order (which is what I expected)and very little info about the site and area was given on arrival.
The chalet was satisfactory and clean, but nothing special. The deck area was lovely and had a great view of the lake. The kitchen was well equipped.
My children enjoyed the site especially the pools and trampoline, although like other reviewers, I found them a bit grubby and tired.
Our biggest complaint was with the horrendous wi-fi. My husband was trying to keep up to date with business emails and the wi-fi simply wasn't up to the job. He spent hours, literally, trying to send and receive simple emails and manage his website.
I can't comment on the toilet blocks as we had a chalet.
We were surprised to see no tents here and would've felt quite odd pitching one.
The best thing about the site is the area. Langres is lovely and a walk around the amazing town walls is a must.
I wouldn't stay on this site again, it's certainly not living up to its four star label.

This is the 6th time we have used this site for a one night stop over as it is really convenient for travelling to and from Switzerland.
Over the years, our view is that this site has deteriorated. Although the reception staff have been helpful, it is woefully under-manned and takes an age to get in, even though we had pre-booked. We would agree with many of the other reviews that it is a nice location by the lake. The toilet facilities are definitely not up to a 4 star rating. The showers are tiny and you can barely turn round in them. They are brilliant if you want to get a shower in the dark as the lights never work! We only used this site again, this year, because of the location and the Caravan Club told us that it was being upgraded. Sorry - we haven't seen any improvements.
We use the pitches with water and drainage - may be extravagant for a one night stay, but it suits us. The pitches are grass but through constant use the grass is bare, which means when it is damp the ground is muddy and gets carried into the caravan.
Overall, this is not a site we would choose for a holiday but bearable for one night as a stop over. In our view, after speaking to others on the site, many people, particularly Dutch and British, use this site as an overnight stop.

We used Lac de Liez as a night halt after an early start from Calais. It's about 6 hours depending on traffic and stops and is not too far from the motorway. We have stopped here a few times and being August, I had booked ahead and was surprised but pleased they would take a booking for one night. We even upgraded to a pitch with private shower and toilet facilities. The pitch itself was huge but its condition was poor - I'm glad I didn't have to pitch a tent.
There is a small shop and bread is ordered the night before. The restaurant and bar were sadly not as good as the last time we were here about 4 years back but otherwise the pool was good for a dip to cool off and the hard pressed staff did their best to book us in quickly.
Not sure I could stay here for more than a night but suits us fine as a bolt hole heading south.

Family with two 11 year old boys
On arrival the site looks very well organised with pin coded traffic barriers, the reception was busy and staff friendly.
The pitches are mainly on a sloping pitches as the site is on a hillside overlooking the lake. The pitches are smaller than expected.
The lack of wireless access on the pitches was a big complaint by the many Dutch visitors but as I was on 3G at no extra cost I didn't find it an issue.
The ablutions were cleaned in the morning and early evening so we're not up to a standard expected of a 4 star site. The showers were in need of an overhaul to say the least, no excuse for the huge amount of cobwebs which were there for our entire visit 8 nights and probably still there now.
The on site shop was basic to say the least but did supply fresh bread on a daily basis, the bar and restaurant were bordering on the expensive side 80 euro for two small beers to cans of orange two french fries one with a hotdog sausage no bread bun, two small steaks, no salad, mushrooms or onion rings just fries and a burger sized steaks.
Local supermarkets around 2. 5 km away so food shopping was not an issue.
Swimming pools and slides were very good but caution the poolside was extremely slippy and an accident waiting to happen. No lifeguards or staff supervising and the slide became a kids free for all.
The site is lacking general upkeep and I believe this was due to lack of staff who were overworked and underpaid ( comment made by another English family who had chatted to the staff).
Our trailer tent was robbed whilst we were sleeping on our second night, they gained access by cutting a huge hole in the awning window so not to make a noise. Our trailer tent was not the only one robbed that night so word of warning don't leave anything on charge in awnings I. E. Mobile phones, iPads, laptops etc. On discovery of the burglary the staff were very helpful and phoned the police for me stating that nothing like this had never happened before. When I had to attend the police station to make statements I was informed that it was common in the campsites around the town of Langres.
All in all the site is nice picturesque location however, poor ablutions, not enough staff, poor wi-fi at pitches and no security cameras or guards patrolling what is a known problem area.
I would not visit this site again unless the issues identified are rectified, I. E. Cleanliness of ablutions and security.

We used this site as it was near to the lake and also the walled town of Langres, and it lived up to expectations. The pitches are tiered so most will have a view over to the lake, and we certainly had a view to enjoy. Because of the tiering I would say be careful if you have children as the edges has sharp drops. The walk to the lake is quite steep and apart from a few restaurants it is quiet by the lake. The beach is gravely sand but clean and the water was clean. You can easily cycle around the lake, or part of it if not too energetic. Lots of mice shade. The site itself was clean and tidy and the toilet facilities very good. Two pools inside and outside, to be honest the temperature was pretty much the same for both, bracing! We tried the restaurant but while the food was tasty it was a bit pricey and not much of it. The staff were, well a little bit rude to be honest, they did what they had too and not much more. English was spoken but they preferred French it seemed. We stayed 4 nights and then went in to the town where we could have stayed at the Aire but after taking the petit train and walking to see the sites we moved on to our next stop.

OK, five nights on site lovely area and lovely site from the off the feeling was good pick the site you like the most and set up, most have a view of the lake fully serviced pitches as well a tented area in a field above the MoHO pitches. The restaurant was excellent the food and wine very good, however the take away chicken was not very hot and tough. The chips mushy and cold so not recommended by this user, the site is high up and a bike ride down to lake level was a piece of cake, on the return not so take this into account when setting off on your cycle, nice little Auberge and bars down at the lake and a bike/walk way to the town of Langres which is worth a visit. (we actually moved to the town for a few days before setting off to our next site and found the campsite there very good and inside the town fortifications) This site is well maintained and clean staff excellent the little shop had French bread fresh baked at the shop every day and other sundry useful items toilets, very clean and supplied with toilet paper showers could be hotter not a big prob in hotter weather but it was not always sunny during our stay and a coolish shower was not very welcome The pools were excellent the games room was not open at our time of staying but looked up to their standard

A beautiful spot but had that end of season uncared for feel. We were initially sent to a tiny pitch that was crammed in amongst 4-5 others. Disappointing for a 4* site we thought especially as we had booked well in advance. There was no problem when we asked to move and we found a much more suitable spot and could even see a bit of the lake. Outdoor pool though pretty view was as last time we visited very cold. The nearest toilet block was most odd. Urinal on view as you approached and only 3 unisex loos. Not cleaned that regularly either. The showers were excellent having sinks hair drier etc but oddly no cubicles with just a sink and mirror. Washing up facilities excellent and water very hot. Try the cycle rout round the lake at your peril. Excellent till you reach the 3k of rocks to scramble over clearly a work in progress.

We stayed here for three nights in August 2013. Facilities are excellent, shop, restaurant, bar/brasserie, pool. Pitches vary in size, we had a huge one but many are sloping and those with a view of the lake tend to be quite small. The site is in a beautiful spot, on the lake with many water sports available. There was a plentiful supply of hot water and the showers worked well.
Unfortunately, unlike another site in the same group, this one gave an air of being uncared for. Rather scruffy overall and there seemed to be a lack of staff. The Bar/Brasserie did not open until 3 in the afternoon (the info said 2pm). No morning drinks, no lunches, no coffee before 3. Very hard to understand.
Just about 4 star but could/should be better.
