This site has stunning views of the lake from the terrace & outside pool. Very few pitches have views of lake. It's a short walk down to the lake where's there's a sailing club & people fishing.
As mentioned previously the pitches are very small. It was wet when we arrived & most people had great difficulty in getting onto the pitches. Many of the the big motorhomes struggled to fit onto the space provided, as did the larger caravans. Watching a couple in their brand new motorhome having to be towed off a pitch (that they couldn't fit onto) & hitting a tree on the way to another pitch made me feel very sorry for them. We refused to take our allocated pitch as it was all mud & uneven, we also refused the 2nd option as our elevating roof hit the tree above, so we told them where we wanted to go and that was fine. It's an expensive site because of the 2 pools, restaurant, bar etc, but more attention should be paid to the size & condition of the pitches, which is where you spend most of your time.

We visited this site as it was the closest site to Besancon recommended by the Caravan Club that would take two dogs. It had been raining heavily and some of the pitches were boggy and we were put in a very small pitch with a partial view of the lake. It was essential to use our mover due to limited access and we were glad our caravan is only 5 metres. Any longer and we would have had a problem. We visited Besancon but wish we hadn't as it is a building site at the moment and not worth the 90km drive. Langres however, the local town is very nice and is an interesting walled town with wonderful views.

We too used this site for a 2 night stay on our way south. It was a good site with everything you need for that first stop over, let me explain.
The pool was open late so you could have a refreshing dip on arrival.
10 amp EHU so everything works !
Restaurant with a good choice of delicious food, smiling staff and good prices.
Wander down to the Lake and there is a nice place to eat and drink.
Bouncy castle, Trampoline and you are made.
Pitches are Snug and Shop has bread and essentials.
Langres is suppose to be lovely but we had good sun so the pool beckoned !
Showers may not be 4 star I have to admit

Well placed for going South, excellent for an overnight stop. Lovely location, overlooking the lake - some pitches can be tight for a twin-axle or slightly larger unit, but we managed to find a suitable spot for our twin axle.
Overall well maintained, views fantastic staff very helpful. Surrounding area very pretty, have only used this site going South and heading North, but is worthy of a much longer stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way home from the south of France. We found this an acceptable site for a short stay but would probably look for somewhere with some character and less noisy in future.
The facilities are good, toilets block clean and shop well stocked. We also ate at the campsite restaurant which I have to say was particularly good - good quality, regional French cuisine.
Our pitch was flat and but not too shaded, although some had reasonably good shade.
Unfortunately this site is let down by two things. First, since it's heavily used for one-night stays (just near the motorway), expect to get woken up from 7am onwards. (And we were also kept awake from people in a nearby static caravan partying until after 5am). Second, there's very little character - it's located overlooking a man-made lake in the countryside and no distinctive 'feel' to it.

Stayed overnight on way down south and arrived after a visit to the lovely old town of Langres which is about a 10 minute drive from the site. The reception staff were welcoming and we were given a level pitch. The toilet block nearest to us was clean, showers were warm. Pool was good with views over the lake and loungers. Bread could be ordered for the next day. The lake was within easy walking distance. Pitches were a good size. Barrier at entrance with numbers to key in. Didn't use bar, shop or restaurant so can't comment.

They have two areas one for those staying a while and the the one using the site as a overnight / short stop, and they have the best pitches. Please don't get me wrong the site is very nice but the best pitches ( ie. Level etc) are for the short stay and there are a lot of units doing this.
As to the area once you have see the town there is nothing much else to do. The site is a walk from the lake up a steep hill.
The best thing was a restaurant near the site. One of the best I have been to ( inc Michelin)
The site is ideal for a couple of days R+R on the way to and from the south but nothing more unless you want to sit at the side of the van to read and relax

This is a lovely campsite. The brochure shows a terraced restaurant overlooking a floodlight pool which then overlooks a beautiful lake - I thought they had cut and pasted it but no - it really is like that; the views are stunning with plenty of tables making the most of it.
The reception was welcoming and allowed us to pick our own pitch, despite it being late August. The pitches are a good size, some with views of the lake below, some on terraces.
The toilet/wash blocks were clean with soap dispensers and good washing up areas. There could have been more showers for women - for some reason ours had 2 plus a basin cubicle and a baby bath cubicle, so there was a bit of a queue at times, while the men's had 3 or 4 but no queue.
There is a small playground and a bouncy castle near the pool.
The outdoor pool is a good size with a small fountain area and good sun loungers. It never felt too busy despite the hot weather. Plus the view of the lake below. From the outdoor pool you can dash straight into the indoor one, with shallow paddling area, jacuzzi and showers/lockers. Then back to the outdoor one if you are brave enough. These pools kept our children occupied for hours.
We also visited the lake,(down steep steps from carpark opposite the campsite), which had a good grassy area and also a sandy beach and was surprisingly warm. Supervised swimming in a large roped off area. Lots of waterski/sailing/pedaloes etc available for hire around the lake.
The shop is very well stocked and reasonably priced. The fresh milk there was almost half the price of another 4 star campsite.
As noted the bar area has great views and there is a big and popular restaurant there too although we didn't test it out.
As mentioned, Langres town has all facilities and is well worth a visit.
This is a secure and well run campsite which deserves it's four stars. It's 4 1/2 hours from Calais and is used for overnighting (some arriving quite late and stopping near the entrance/exit then leaving at 7 am) but when we were there it was quiet at night and there was a very friendly atmosphere. Part of the Kawan chain. We would definitely visit here again.

We ( husband and I and 2 children) camped at the beginning of August as a 1 night stop over and a 2 night stop over on the way home.
The facilities are good, the outdoor pool is lovely, the indoor pool is very busy.
Camping with out a hook up finds you on a terrace at the far end of the site, the view is great but the pitches are not marked out and the choice of even ground on the terrace is limited hence if you are last in you could be very unfortunate with your pitch.Hence I felt the cost was a bit steep.
The staff at reception speak English. The waitresses are lovely and looked after us very well, when eating on the terrace for our evening meal, our French was sufficient for this. The food was excellent, this was reflected in the price.
At this time the site was very very busy with mostly stop overs, and noisy at times.
I would not stay here longer than 2 nights, I would book a pitch with a hook up just so that I have a marked pitch that was flat.
Langres is lovely with lots of medieval buildings, the city wall is magnificent. We enjoyed our visit.
The lake is beautiful and offers a sandy beach with a life guard. There is a cycle path around the lake, however we did not get around to doing the trip.

We (retired couple)stayed here 2 nights with tourer Sept.09 en-route to Calais from the South.
The 16 previous reviews on this site give a good all round picture. I am adding this little bit because it's recent and covers a period in mid Sept.
Arrived lunchtime - France was closed. The routine is to select a pitch and 'book in' later.
The pitch was on left side of the top terrace road near to a toilet block. It was spacious, separated by hedges and had water & EHU. I have read one review that mentions difficulties with the height of the taps which are app 3/4ft off the ground so a hose or funnel is required. To most experienced travellers this wouldn't be a problem but first-timers might be caught out a little.
At the time of our stay in Sept not all of the toilet blocks were open which limits the amount of cubicles/WCs available at busy times. Having said that I didn't experience any difficulties. Also mornings and evenings in Sept can be a bit cool and these toilets were cold first thing in the morning.
We used the indoor pool and jacuzzi(?)- great.
We also used the restaurant and had a very nice evening meal at a reasonable price. However, beware the waiter serving a bottle of wine already opened instead of being opened at the table. They wouldn't dream of attempting to do this with anyone French.
Overall this is a good, well run site but if I was staying in the area again for one or two nights en-route North or South I'd use the Municipal site in Langres.
