Nice and quiet, flat pitch and beautiful dark skies at night. Limited communication prior to staying, and no email responses ever. However, the owner has helpful when we met her, very laid back.
Toilets are basic, two in the ladies, and two showers also. I didn't use these as it felt too damp and chilly. I was relieved to see an automatic light went on at night as you approach the block!
The site is easy to locate and you can hear a bit of traffic but overall, very peaceful and no light pollution at all.
Easy access to the Strawberry Line, short walk to the reservoir which is great for a walk.

One shower block with 2 showers and 2 toilets for each men and ladies, it was clean and showers were hot when using them, push button and curtains for the showers.
One outdoor sink for cleaning plates, cold water only but not an issue as we boiled a kettle. Large field with 5 electric points, penny of space between them with water point and waste point in the corner of the field, separate field for tents as well.
Back gate leading to reservoir and traffic free path leading to Cheddar (about 2. 5miles to Chedder gorge going that way, great for dogs as off the lead, shorter distance if walking via the road),
Will definitely return, great value for £20 per night.

Great site and perfect location for cycling or walking the area, Strawberry line cyclepath and Cheddar Reservoir just behind the site.
Lovely couple who run it are very helpful.
Short notice availability was no problem.

Lovely, stay at Broadway cottages camping for My family me my wife and kids 10 and 5
Although the campsite is pretty basic, it feels very relaxing and beautiful.
Kids can make their own fun. Beautiful walks.
Nearby local shop is a petrol station, but very well Equipped. There is a sainsbury's in the town small drive way
Was allowed a little barbecue and small off the floor fire.
Only bad thing to say is the wash up area for Dirty plates etc. Only has cold water So you have to fill up from the toilet a pot and take it to the wash station
The toilets themselves was very clean but a little dated on the shower side of things. Yet still usable and clean all round.
Give the site 8/10

Good location between Cheddar and medieval town of Axbridge.
Not far along A371 (busy with impatient drivers, not good for cycling) to join NCR 26 before Axbridge - it runs along disused railway.
Campsite with plenty of space and OK facilities. Traffic noise during day which reduced considerably at night.
We would happily go back.

I phoned to enquire to stay with two adults, 1 small dog and a campervan without electric. The lady on the phone was very helpful and told me they had availability and the price was £17. 50 for the night including use of the showers. We agreed and set off
The site is easy to find and were met by the very friendly owner who showed me to the pitch and the facilities.
The pitch was very flat and we had a large choice, so chose the middle of the site for the evening and morning sun. Each pitch has electric, however we did not need this.
The facilities consisted of two toilets and two showers in both mens and womens. The showers were only a curtain, and you had to strip off in the main block itself, but this was not a problem. The showers were non directional and push button, but they had loads of pressure and were lovely and warm. The block was clean and well maintained.
The fields are very flat and are dog and child friendly. Dogs must be kept on a lead and cleaned up after and there is so much space for children to run and play and enjoy the great outdoors.
Walking is in abundance from the site with direct access to the reservoir which is about a total of 3.5 miles round and back to the site. If you cross the road you can walk up Frys Hill which offers fantastic views across the Mendips and all the way to Bristol and the coast. It is a tough hill but well worth it.
You can walk along the path into Cheddar itself where you will find the Gorge, the caves, shops, pubs and plenty to entertain everyone. We walked into Cheddar and to get to the foot of the Gorge it took us around 40 minutes and was nice and flat.
Loads to see and do in the area and this is a site that is highly recommend and I will return with the family next time.

The site was lovely and quiet, apart from 2 children and their dog shouting and running around at 7am on the one morning, however it is good they are family friendly.
Great location 4 minute drive to axbridge which has a free car park, and 7minute drive to cheddar village. It was about a 30minute walk to cheddar via the roadside, however I think there is a path to walk an easier way from the back of the site.
The site facilities were good, clean toilets showers and washing up area. Electricity hook up, and could pretty much pitch up wherever. Big fields so lots of space.
The showers are powerful which is good but the cubicle is small. Great priced and lovely and helpful owners.
Would only suggest for them to tell families with young children to try and be quiet before a suitable morning time, but again nothing to do with the owners or the site.
Would recommend to anyone.
