Just returned from a fabulous weekend break to this campsite. Lovely quiet and spacious site, nice flat pitches, great amenities for children, small shop for the necessities on site open from 9 am, toilets/showers absolutely spotless and regularly cleaned throughout our stay.
Good washing up, water facilities, bins emptied and recycling encouraged for glass etc. Close to a great Pub, The Old Barn, just a short walk up a gravel track (take a torch for the walk back at night though -its PITCH black!), close to Burley and rest of the New Forest. Also you can walk from the site into the Moor Valley - lots there to see and do for children scenic railway, swans on lake.We hope to return here next summer and would thoroughly recommend this one.

On arrival at this site we were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our spacious pitches, nothing was too much trouble for her. She even suggested as we were a booking of several caravans perhaps we were better pitching lengthwise giving us a more sociable arrangement. Next morning showers in both ladies and gents were less than adequate eg no hot and in some cases no water. After mentioning problem the ladies were put right but one or two more complaints had to be made before the problem was put right in the gents Despite these minor problems we thoroughly enjoyed our stay,The site was spotlessly clean, the people very friendly,a good pub within easy walking distance which served good food. All in all a good holiday made better by the good weather and a site we would definitely go back to at some time

May 2005 This is a flat, grassy, well tended site with clean facilities. There is a small play area adjacent to reception that will appeal to younger children. The walk to Moors Valley is a definite plus point for this site and just about justifies the relatively high price of a stay (£23 a night for 2 adults and 2 young children in small caravan during May half term). Our pitch was some way from a hook-up but the owners willingly lent us an extension cable.
The small shop has basic supplies only but there are local shops within a short drive. There is a lovely Waitrose in Ringwood (10 minutes drive).
There are sufficient attractions in this area to keep the most active family satisifed. Moors Valley Country Park is an outstanding amenity and bicycle hire is very popular (and the best way to see some wildlife). The "Go Ape" high ropes course (for over 10s only) will be the highlight of any teenagers holiday.

August 2005 After leaving things to the last minute, (A familiar occurance according to my wife !!)I was very lucky to find a pitch available at this delightful site. It had everything that a family with two young children requires.
The site is completely level with a modest number of generous pitches. Each offering a large area of grass between each of the rows. These proved ideal for a number of games, bike riding or just exporing. A common activity my children engaged in, especially when there was work to do !!
All pitches are well away from any roads, the site is well secured with entry through an electronic barrier using a remote control (returnable deposit). Facilities included a large well equipted play area, shop for those last minute forgotton items, showers, clean toilets and laundry room. The customer service at every moment was first class, from booking over the phone right through to our departure. Probably the most helpful and welcoming site we have ever stayed at.
Within a five minute walk at one corner of the site is a footpath that leads to Moors Valley Country Park. We were lucky to be present when the local banger racing competition took place in a nearby field (fortnightly event). An eye opener and thouroughly enjoyable event, especially for our children. There also appeared to be a very large car boot sale in a neighbouring field which proved very popular. The highlight of our stay would have to be the visit to the town of Fordingbridge a few miles away where the children spent all day playing in the river, catching fish and feeding the ducks in the local park.
All in all a fantastic three days away, so much so that I won't hesitate to re-visit at some point next year.

2nd July 2004 The staff / owner is very friendly and helpful, the site is clean with clearly marked out generous pitches.
There is a central toilet / shower block and this was cleaned to an acceptable standard. Be warned that the lights in the actual toilet sections go out at some point in the night, so if you have that middle of the night urge then take a torch!
There were plenty of drinking water taps and waist water disposal points spread throughout the site and a washing up point at the rear of the block. I believe there is also a washing machine and drier but we didn’t use them.
The site is almost flat and well drained – we had a heavy downpour without any flood or muddy problems.
This is a working farm, so expect a little farm noise - early morning cockerel and for some reason a few barking dogs etc, but this was not at all loud.
There is a 20 minute walk to the wonderful moors valley country park – that’s 20 minutes walking at toddlers speed on a public footpath. The path starts at a white gate in the far left of the field, go right and until you see two single stacks of wheels on your right with the path running through them – that's the enterance.
Back to the site – there is a small shop that sells all the basics and you can order your newspaper. There is also a play park just inside the entrance, this is not too much of an issue as it is a long way from the main road and there is a barrier that slows traffic down (£25 deposit required for a remote control to let yourself in and out).
Overall a great clean site that is very family friendly, I am planning to go back but for a week this time.

August 2003 As above, the reviews & location (near Moors Valley) encouraged us to try this campsite & very glad we did. Can't fault the campsite or the reviews. The walk to Moors Valley is easy and indeed a 10 minute for grown-ups - although with a 5 and 3 yr old and a hot sunny day it's more like 30 mins, but plenty of fun on the way - with the banger racing, the well-drawn map from the lady in the shop, and even a "troll bridge" they had a great time.

End May 2003 The original review prompted me to consider Woolsbridge and it was as described. The campsite was very spacious - more so than any I have stayed at - which was great, particularly as we have a 12-berth tent! Plenty of room for the kids to kick a ball around, cycling on site was encouraged and the play area was heavily used by our party. Easy access to West Moors Valley was fantastic and could be one reason alone to stay here. There is also the biggest car boot sale in East Dorset held in the next field every Sunday morning, followed by banger racing in the afternoon (noisy, but didn't go on for too long). The owners were friendly, the shop more than adequate, the site was level with good drainage, and the charges were very reasonable for peak season prices (we paid £150 for the week for 6 peple plus 2 cars, awning and a late stay to boot!) The major downside for me was the washing machine being out of order - it appeared to have been for some considerable time and there were no plans to have it repaired. In addition, the shower block only seemed to be cleaned once a day but it was OK. We stayed next to the trees and suffered badly from the ants and mosquitos, but I expect if you steer clear of that area you wouldn't get the same problems. All in all - some small irritations, but I would return again.

April 2003 Just to say previous review is pretty tip top. It was my first time in years camping but I encountered no problems. Walked through to the nearby country park with my children which was a big bonus.
Will be going again.

August 2002 A pleasant, level, grassy site surrounded by trees and farmland. The pitches are spacious and well marked and an access road bisects the site. The camp shop and reception are on the right as you arrive as are the 2 public phones and the inovative play area. The clean, bright and well presented amenities block is centrally placed and house Male and Female Toilets (including disabled units), Showers and a central Laundry room with washing machine, deep sink, spin dryer and iron. The dish washing area is at the rear of the building. The amenities are cleaned daily by a conract company.(remember your torch though, as the toilet & shower lights go off at about midnight!) There is a chemical loo disposal point and various fresh water points around the site ( each has a fire extinguisher at it)The shop is adequately stocked and papers are delivered daily and can be ordered. A mobile fish & chip van visits the site on Sundays & Tuesdays. There is a One-Stop shop about 3/4 mile down the road for your food and drink requirements and a large Safeway at Verwood. About 1/2 mile up the road to 3 Legged Cross there is a nice, big pub/restaurant. Moors Valley Country Park can be accessed from the site via a Bridleway, it is about a 10 minute stroll( Dogs are allowed both on the site and in the Country Park) All in all, a very nice site which we enjoyed staying at and will happily return to. Oh, the prices...£7 low season, £12 high season for 2 adults & 2 children under 4. Children 4-16 £1.50 per night, Additional adults £2.50 per night. Dogs 75p per night, Awnings £1.00, Electrical Hook-Up £2.50,Battery re-charging £4.00 and cool block re-freezing 25p per item.
