Fantastic site. Large pitches, great location. Friendly, accommodating owners. Lovely warm, clean toilet and shower block.
Plenty to keep kids entertained. Separate area for walking/exercising dogs. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The owners were very welcoming and very laid back about rules. There are no rules! Just respect for others campers which is exactly how it should be.
The toilet block was great and very well looked after. My only criticism was that the showers, although lovely and warm only stayed on for seconds making it difficult to shower easily.
We had loads of space around the tents and the playing field was excellent for rounders and football. And the Easter egg hunt was a lovely touch which the kids really enjoyed.
The only necessary addition from our point of view is an outdoor climbing frame / swing type play area for the kids. We had two boys and one girl with us and whilst the boys were happy to play football or table tennis, our girl didn't have anyone to play with and the barn was a bit intimidating for her. Had there been a climbing frame she would have met lots of other children and found it easier to make new friends.
Otherwise this site is fab and we would definitely go back.

We took our grandaughter to the children's festival at the Croft campsite, she had a super time, lots to do and lovely people running the event.
The campsite is peaceful and relaxed, with good warm facilities and a new well fenced in dog park.
We will visit again to do some exploring of the local area.

Another great weekend at The Croft! Quiet location, big pitches, a pleasant mostly footpath walk to Laxfield with its two pubs and shop. It’s no surprise there are many returners, families, couples and larger groups. Friday evening BBQ is really useful and saves cooking on arrival for weekend.
Maria and Guy are laid back hosts and when home from uni their kids pitch in to make this a real family site. Toilets and showers are clean and well looked after. Blackberries are plentiful in the perimeter hedges at present and the trees are growing fast to provide extra wind protection.
Space for games is massive, the dedicated games field is a really nice feature and the toys in the big barn are well used by the younger guests (some not so young as well at the fusball tables!), no children’s playground but so much opportunity for social unstructured play.
The fire pits delivered to your pitch are great if you want the real campfire experience and good value.
No electric hook up but central fridges and freezers and phone charging in reception.
We will definitely return.

We visited The Croft campsite near Halesworth , for 4 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend with two 5 year old children
Overall a fantastic friendly campsite with lovely clean shower block and nice tidy pitches.
Very friendly and helpful owners, with nice touches like a basket of lollies for the kids on arrival.
Nice level pitches with good grass cover and plenty of hedges etc to delineate each pitch.
Nice covered BBQ/meeting area with fridge freezers. The owners run welcome BBQs and cooked breakfasts but we didn't have any so can't comment further. We did pre-order Croissants and Pan-au-chocolate for the first morning which was nice as we hadn't had chance to get to a shop.
Plenty to do in the local area for kids of all ages, we visited the camel farm and Aldborough whilst there.
The only negatives, although not important to all people, were no EHU and no shop. There was some road noise from our side of the field. There is no playground, although there is a barn with some play equipment, but it was mostly older children which was a little intimidating for our 5 year olds.
In the covered communal area there was a large fridge, a small fridge and a 2/3 fridge freezer for all to use, however the freezer was not big enough for everyone’s freezer packs. They could do with a bigger chest freezer or similar in my opinion.
I’m not in favour of draconian rules, but some campers were pretty noisy way after 11pm and people did not always keep their dogs on leads despite the rules specifically saying they should be. There was no evidence of the owners intervening despite being told it had been raised to the owner’s attention. Unfortunately as always, however good facilities are at a site it only takes a few people to spoil things for others.
However overall I would highly recommend this site to all, we had a great time and we would be more than happy to revisit.

This is a lovely, friendly, welcoming campsite with nice big pitches. Maria is so accommodating and friendly, and their ideas of doing a bbq on a Friday evening and bacon sarnies on a Sunday morning really add to the atmosphere. The shower facilities are new and excellent, and there was plenty of room in the fridges for everyone.
The campsite is essentially a couple of open fields and as it's quite new there's not a huge amount of shade which would have been welcome the weekend we stayed, but that's quite unusual for England! It's very well appointed for the more likely possibility of rain, with a huge games barn and another barn for eating / playing cards etc.
We were just two adults, and because of the pitch sizes, there was lots of room to relax. It was also very child-friendly, with extra space for frisbee and games. It's a nice quiet location, with a lovely walk across the fields to an excellent pub. Something for everyone!
All in all this is an absolute gem, and I really hope the venture goes from strength to strength. Would definitely recommend, and I will return if I'm in the area again.

Spent 3 nights here during Whitsun week. We had 2 boys aged 3 and 6 with us. There wasn't a huge amount for them to do but they soon found themselves running around with the other kids. All kids need is an imagination. Not lots of toys.
There was plenty of freezer and fridge space for everyone. There was never a queue at the very clean toilets and showers. The barn would have been even more useful if it had rained but the kids loved it anyway.
I cannot find any complaints or improvements to make in hind site. The best thing about the site was being able to see the boys most of the time.
At 10pm the noise from the kids disappeared and the site was quiet. If you want a safe, quiet after 10pm, friendly site this is for you. Surrounding areas like Southwold are great too.

Just spent three nights at this lovely site! Pitches are large, around edge of three fields when we stayed, with plenty of space in the middle for smaller children to play, there was also a separate large field to play on.
All the pitches were level, nd the grass was recently cut. No electric hook ups, which was fine for us, but a freezer and fridges in cart lodge, accessible at all times, so could freeze blocks, and also store cold foods, extremely handy!
Children loved the barn with table football and table tennis.
We had the BBQ on the Friday night, enjoyed burgers, sausages, chicken, potatoes, salad, reasonable price. They also sell bacon butties on a Sunday, and have croissants to preorder if wanted.
Three toilets and two showers in female room, presume similar for boys, also a wet room and family shower room with toilet, didn't have to wait. Showers warm and clean, with space to dress without getting everything wet.
The reception attached to the house was open all day, no shop, but has some essential camping replacements was able to get some replacement matches when ours got damp!
Quiet location, not too far from Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Framlingham.
Very family friendly site, felt very safe, highly recommended.

We've just had two nights of late season ( for us) camping with Maria and Guy at The Croft and everything other reviewers have noted was true for us - made very welcome by our hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble, lovely clean washroom facilities, well kept site, etc.
Maria and Guy really care about their guests, work very hard and deserve every success.
The site is well located for exploring this part of Suffolk whether you choose to walk, cycle ( as we did) or drive.
