We love this site, this was our third visit. The pitches are good toilets usual club standard. The drive down to the site is one of the most spectacular arrivals we have ever views to reach a club site. For us enjoying the facilities of Longlete leaving the car behind most of the time is brilliant. In the stables there is an ice cream shop, which sells wonderful flavours of organic ice cream at reasonable prices. We like to get the passport ticket (using tesco club card vouchers) and do different things each day often walking over early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds and having a lazy lunch in the caravan. Wardens brilliant and very helpful especially advising of a mobile repairman when our regulator went mid holiday and bearing with us when on route the site we got held up due to snow and diversion outside Bath. Our biggest tip is to by-pass the monkey enclosure, our first visit we thought we had everything covered removed wipers etc – kids in hysterics with monkeys on the car – big mistake one bit off the rear screen washer!

What can I say? Other than, perfect!
We stayed here as part of a little tour in the summer and had three nights here.
As we arrived literally at the 'Welcome to Longleat' sign, a deer cantered across our units path, so we stopped for a couple of minutes to watch, what a welcome!
Followed the one way system directed by the Caravan Club signs, to the site entrance, PLEASE , PLEASE DO NOT use your sat nav directions here, as the CC website tells you not to do, this is the way out and is very narrow and if you meet a leaver on your way in, you're stuck!
We were checked in quickly by the warden and asked to find a pitch and let them know, no problem as it has good access around the site and we found a good pitch, hard standing just across from the toilet block and towards the entrance.
Small on site shop selling basics, excellent toilet facilities, clean and warm, only had to queue once, when a gaggle of unattended little girls had overtaken all the showers and were ages, much to the annoyance of the queuing adults!
Site is beautifuly laid out and well landscaped with trees offering shade, which was great because it was red hot the days we were there.
The site allows BBQ's as long as they are off the ground, we did one evening and it was lovely, have dinner, glass of wine and listening to the sea lions in the lake which is just at the back of the site. The kids thought this was great.
The wonderful thing about this site is that if Longleat is your destination it is fantastic as it takes about 5 minutes to walk from your caravan door to the attractions.
One tip here, buy your tickets on line before you go, they are cheaper as they have an online discount.
We bought the full passport ticket and spent two wonderful, full days enjoying everything Longleat has to offer, rather than cramming it in to one day, the only time we moved the car was to take the SAFARI drive and to nip into ASDA at Frome about ten minutes drive away.
The site has quality written all over it and we loved it! As did the kids, they get access to a massive play fort as part of their Longleat Passport and they said it was great.
We are definitely going to return here and stay a little longer, and use the site as a base not only for a return visit to Longleat but to discover the surrounding area.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A wonderful site that lived up to all our expectations being on the grounds of Longlet. The site is well looked after by the team of wardens and is always clean. The shower blocks are of the standard that you always expect form the Caravan Club.
There is a green situated in the middle of the camp for ball games which can be noisy late at night with groups of children playing football.
The animal sounds of an evening are wonderful, you can hear lions and tigers roaring and one morning we awoke to the sound of the wolves howling.
We purchased our longleat tickets on line and got a discount and seeing that the site is only a few minutes walk away from the attractions you could go back daily so there was no rush.
There is also a fish and chip van that vists the site which was always popular.

Quite simply the best site we've ever been to!
Believe all the great reviews and go and see for yourself. Fantastic facilities, loads to do both on the estate and in the area. Best approach you will ever get - you drive through the estate looking down onto the safari park and can see rhinos!
Something for everyone - our party ranged in age from 4 - 74 and we all want to go again.
Simply cannot praise it enough.

We spent a long weekend at the site, we had fabulous weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This site is absolutely fabulous with excellent pitches, great wash facilities and a lovely welcome!
The site was full when we arrived and so there was not much choice of pitch, but we managed to select one close to the wash block. We did not get much sun and were shaded because of the trees, but we were out all day so that did not matter too much.
We could not believe how close this was to the entrance to all the attractions of Longleat. We also used out Tesco vouchers and it was incredibly good value for money. We decided to take the 'safari bus' and left our car at the site. The bus stop was only about 30 meters from the site entrance.
We stayed for 3 days, and there was plenty to keep everyone occupied with the 'passport' ticket into the park. We did not need to venture anywhere else.
My husband and I went for a run around the grounds in the morning before all the visitors came and it was idyllic.
You can hear the lions roar and in the middle of the night it can be disconcerting, but it's kind of nice (as long as they have not escaped).
We will definitely return and if all Caravan Club sites are like this then we will be using them more!

What a wonderful site. Beautifully landscaped, excellent facilities and excellent access to Longleat house and safari park.
A couple of warnings, firstly if you come off the M4 and your sat-nav tries to take you the shortest route, Don't go near Bradford on Avon! we went down that way and the mixture of gradients, tiny streets, poor drivers and sharp turns almost had my wife in tears; best to go into Bath on the A46 and follow the signs for the A36; a much nicer road that is much more caravan friendly.
Secondly choose you pitch carefully, we had a great pitch that backed onto the woods and the waterfall; only problem being that we couldn't sit out and enjoy them like everyone else because we were in the midst of a midge swarm.
Saying that there are loads of great pitches, all with TV, and the woodland surroundings are very pleasant; and where else can you sit out, (or in our case, sit in the awning) and hear sea lions and big cats roar while you enjoy a glass of wine?
We bought a pass for the safari park, (damn those monkeys!) and a trip on the safari boat, I know people recommend a safari passport but at £22 a head it was more than the cost of the attractions that we had decided to go to. And you have free access to the grounds and gardens because you are on the site. And back to the monkeys, if you are very proud of your car then think long and hard about taking the detour past the monkey compound, seeing them destroy the washer jet nozzles on my Jaguar was not the best experience ever.
I must just say that the approach to the caravan club site is simply amazing; you drive down out of a wooded hillside and through the front lawns and past the front of Longleat House; then past all the day trippers and car parks before looping around through more woods into the lovely site itself; an awesome arrival.
Any down-sides? leaving was the worst part, we will go back, when the grand-kids are a little older, and we will know that of all the sites we have been to this is the one where they will never get bored.

A lovely site in very pleasant surroundings.
The longleat estate & grounds are lovely for evening walks. Site is spacious with big hardstanding pitches, & apart from the lions, sealions & wolves, very quiet at night.
Can highly recommend day trips to Stourhead house & gardens, Cheddar gorge, Stonehenge & the Westbury white horse.
As good a site we have visited so far !

We spent five days at the site, from the August Bank Holiday. The wardens on the site, were all very helpful. Due to a late arrival, we could not find a pitch near to the play area, so ventured over to the other side, which is a lot quieter. It didn't stop the kids finding other friends to play on their bikes with. The showers are excellent, and always clean and very hot. The washing up areas, as always spotless. The only drawback we had, was our pitch, which we had no choice in, due to the site being so busy. It was under a very well established acorn tree, that continually dropped acorns on to our caravan. Believe me, in the small hours of the morning, they sound like golf balls!. With the help of Tesco vouchers we went to the Safari Park and Longleat itself, which was fantastic, and well worth it. From the site, the sound of the sea lions is fairly constant. If you want to go on the boat trip to see them, then top tip, get there early, or very big queues.
If you fancy a meal out in the evening, try the Royal Oak. Turn right at the top of the lane and it's about a mile on the right hand side. Fantastic home made (large portions) of food, and a nice bear garden with equipment for the kids.

We stayed at Longleat for the long Bank Holiday weekend and even though the site was full it didn’t feel it. The reception we got from the wardens was exceptionally friendly and was very welcome after a long drive! I found the site very well laid out and presented and the facilities were to CC standard. The site is only 200 yards from the main attractions of the Longleat Estate and the safari park is behind and you can hear the animals! The Estate is vast and there are plenty of places to cycle off road. There is a pub nearby but we didn’t try it but a Fish & Chip van shows up at a weekend which was popular but not the best!

Just got back! Lovely site, very helpful and friendly wardens. Mainly hard standing, couldn't get a grass pitch. Showers / toilets very clean. Showers had dressing area in each cubicle which was handy. Didn't get to use the toddler bathroom as in block near reception which we weren't near. Digital tv hookup, we went to ASDA down the road and bought ourselves a digi box for £15. They sell lead at reception, only £12 for 25 metres. Shop had not bad small range of food, and wasn't a rip off. Even bought a paddling pool in there as weather was so hot. Great location, as others have said we bought passport tickets with our Tesco clubcard deals. Used it up over the week period so we did each attraction at our leisure. Great adventure castle with water play area. Once you've been in you can go back in for £3, only have to pay for the kids. Went twice in the week for couple of hours each time. Pub at end of lane looked nice, but was always empty or closed so we never went. Had fabulous weather so lived off the BBQ with the help of ASDA, they give you directions on a handout from reception. Quite a busy site with families and lots of kids when we were there, but it was the summer hols. Small kids play area fenced off in one corner, and you can definitely hear the sea lions!
Visited Limpley Stoke canal not far away. Nice walk down the tow path, can take dogs. Also couple of tea rooms, and boat hire.
Probably try to go back next year.
