We visited this campsite during the Easter weekend and were very impressed with the site. Upon arrival the warden was very nice and we were told that we could go on any pitch, just come back to the reception when we found a spot to tell them the pitch number.
We managed to find a lovely spot near to the waterfall from mile lake which had the miniature railway pass by us on a regular basis. We could also hear the sealions most of the day as the lake was just behind the campsite.
The toilet blocks were very clean and tidy and the showers were very nice also, considering that it was Easter weekend and the site was full. We also paid a £10 deposit which we got back at the end of our stay for the key to the baby bathroom which was fantastic, it was very clean and we bathed our 15 month old in the baby bath and she loved it. It had a changing table in it, a loo for toddlers at toddler size and even a hair dryer.
The only one thing that I could fault as such was the contents in the shop / reception, as there could have been more of the basics like bread and such, but saying this, it is how most caravan club shops / receptions are.
The attractions of Longleat are a 5 min walk away out of the site and turn left, with the maze on the right and animal adventure on the left (walking towards the house from the site) with the house directly in front of you.
If you turn up in a motorhome you can still go on the safari without uprooting the awning and moving your motorhome, you simply just jump onto the safari bus at the bus stop near to the maze (at a cost mind you) and it will take you round, but if you are a towing outfit like us you can just simply jump into the car and drive round yourself.
The safari was very busy but it was the Easter weekend.
We really enjoyed staying at this site and would love to visit again. I even heard the wolfs howling at 2 o'clock in the morning when our baby got me up, to which the wife told me off the next morning for not waking her up so she could hear them.
All in all, very clean, great for kids.

This was our first trip in the motorhome and we had chosen Longleat!
When we arrived I was so impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the site and all the facilities. There are a number of toilet / shower blocks which were kept beautifully clean throughout our 2 night stay. This was despite heavy downpours which created lots of mud! There is a fantastic information room with loads of info of what to do in the area and recommendations for restaurants. There is also a small shop selling basics in the reception.
Longleat itself is a great place to visit with loads to do and it is literally only 5 mins away. As we were in the motorhome we didn't have another vehicle. But you can still do the safari but in a double decker bus which was amazing.
Apart from the food areas at Longleat there are a few pubs relatively close by. We walked to one which was a good 30 minute walk away. A very safe walk but don't forget your torch which was very handy for us.
All in all a fantastic first time experience and this site was amazing. I would recommend it to anyone!

What a great site. Spent a lovely couple of days here and it is just ideal for using alongside the Longleat pass.
The site itself is everything you would expect from a Caravan Club site with the bonus that it is on the Longleat estate itself. Being able to wander around Longleat before and after the rest of the public came in was a bonus too.
We went to sleep with the sounds of the seals barking, I woke in the night to hear the wolves howling and woke up to the roar of the lions. Wow!

Fantastic! Loved it.
Toilet blocks sparkling and heated. Setting was idyllic, listening to the sealions and lions whilst sipping wine was fab. The wardens were very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Loads to do at Longleat estate which was a 100m walk from the site. Just to mention we were in a motorhome so had no transport and the shops and pub were not accessible by foot without an hours walk, so make sure you have everything you need with you.
The fish and chip van food was not nice (yellow) we threw ours away.

We have just returned from a weekend at this amazing site! The reviews for this site are accurate, it is the best caravan club site we have stayed at. To be that close to Longleat is just fantastic, and to be able to hear the animals while you relax with a glass of wine is just wonderful.
We arrived late but this was not a problem for them as you can phone through and get directions to the actual site entrance. You are then able to choose your own pitch which was great for us as we were with family who had already arrived. The toilet facilities were immaculate and never busy as they have plenty of blocks around the site.
For us the best bit was being able to walk the very short walk down the lane and be right inside Longleat. We got the passports so were able to choose when we did the various activities and spread it over the two days. Having the option to come back to the caravan for food was great!
We will definitely be returning to this fantastic site for longer and would recommend it to anyone who has a caravan!

Excellent. Clean. Friendly. Very impressed with this site but wish we could have stayed longer than 3 nights. Toilets were the best Ive seen, plenty of toilets & showers, very clean, fly screens to stop moths / flies, plenty of hooks / shelves in cubicles and adjustable shower head!
A 5 minute stroll into Longleat Estate was a real bonus. We could hear the SeaLions most of the day as the safari boats took visitors to feed them.
A good play area was on site but couldn't resist wandering back into Longleat Estate (where there is the biggest adventure castle play area I have ever seen). Lots of little ones seem to be getting lost, so please keep them close.
The minor things which would have improved our visit would have been the TV hook up point was too far away for our lead (10 metre) and don't use sat nav, it took us a very strange route near to the site and we struggled to find it.
A definite return visit will be made.

This has to be the best site we have ever stayed at, faultless. I would recommend anyone to go to this site absolutely fab! Facilities fantastic, toilet block immaculate, friendly staff, 2 min walk to park. You can even walk or cycle around the Longleat Grounds when the park is closed, we watched the hippos whilst having a picnic in the evening, magical. The Lion was heard mating on Saturday evening which was quite embarrassing but amazing to hear! If you visit Longleat House ask for the extended Mural tour, absolutely amazing what Lord Bath has created.

This must be one of the best sites in the South/Southwest. When we first visited the site in April we thought it was great and going back in July confirmed this. Have another visit planned for September. The whole site is beautifully kept, pitches are really big with plenty of room for awnings etc. The wardens are friendly and extremely helpful, there seems to be a big difference in the attitude of Caravan Club wardens and some Camping & Caravanning site wardens. The jewel in the crown though must be Longleat itself. A five minute walk from the site. The river trip, safari bus and other attractions are not to be missed, but the house is fabulous - got to go round it again.

Just returned for my 5th visit and as usual everything A1. The toilets are spotless the wardens are very nice always ready with a smile, chip van comes twice a week although we didn't use it judging by the queue it must be really good. Went into Longleat the passport ticket is really good value for money and still really enjoyed it even though we had done it all before. Salisbury do a really good park & Ride it costs £2-50 per car but if you are a pensioner with a bus pass you don't have to pay.Went a ride on Salisbury plains and we saw quite a lot of tanks doing the training. Warminster has a Morrisons and Frome has an Asda which we found closer. Cant wait for next year.

This is our first visit to this site and we were very impressed. The wardens were friendly, pitches were of a generous size and facilities immaculate.
We purchased paasport tickets for the safari park on line and made a substantial saving. There really is no better sound than hearing the sound of the lions and particularly the sea lions from the relaxation of your caravan. We didn't use the fish and chip van that toured the site but on our day of arrival discovered it was the food festival in nearby Frome- wonderful!
Overall a fabulous site which we would highly recommend.
