Just returned from the May day bank holiday at Merley Court and we were so impressed. The pitches are good sizes, facilities immaculate, fab play area for the kids, and the walled garden containing crazy golf etc is beautiful - I can imagine long summer evenings spent in there and lazy picnic lunches while the kids play! We have booked for summer before we left. I didnt even know these kind of campsites existed out of France! The staff were very helpful and friendly and lovely to our young boys. The other campers were very friendly too. Deserves the 5 star rating it has and more!

Our first experience in our new caravan and what a great campsite to have chosen! The facilities were excellent - we decided to not set up completely so instead of using our toilet/shower, we used the ones on site. They were warm, clean, spacious and even had music playing in the background throughout the night! It was a very cold weekend, so having a warm shower was bliss!
We arrived on the Saturday and left Sunday - we needed somewhere to go as a test run. Unfortunately with two dogs we were a little restricted when wanting to visit the bar. Even the other caravaners were really friendly - offering their help on how to reverse our caravan (neither of us had ever done it before) and took an interest in our new venture! We had an all service pitch with ample of space for the caravan and car. The site as a whole was clean, tidy and very quiet due to the time of year.
During the school holidays I am sure the play area and swimming pool(which are free to use) gets busy and there are so many activities to choose from to keep the children happy. Great site which I would thoroughly recommend to families and couples alike.

What a fantastic site. Have read a lot of reviews on this site and can only endorse everything that has been said. The facilities are second to none with everything as a family you require. Loads of activities are free which is a bonus. The area itself is beautiful and we have fallen in love with Dorset. There is so much to see and do. We went for a week and this was not enough and have already booked for next year in our requested pitch.
Many thanks to the staff for their pleasant manner and standards that have been set. Only minus I could give is to make sure that you have plenty of rock pegs available as the ground was somewhat hard.

June 2005 A really great place, so much to do and it's all free. Never saw Lily all week. Showers were spotless and nice and warm. Nice big pitch, plenty of room between them. The woodland walk was great you could see all little rabbits runing around.
Only 1 criticism, entertainment at night non-existent apart from a quize on a Sunday and a disco on a Friday, weather wasn't too good so could have done with somthing at night. Have booked for next year.

August 2004 Just returned from a wonderful week at Merley Court... wow this place is fab! My kids adored the pool and all the FREE activities including crazy golf, badminton, vollyball, tennis and a wonderful play area.
The showers had plenty of hot water and the toilets spotlessly clean. Also Free hairdryers. A bathroom is also available if like me you have children who hate showers.
Pitches are well laid out with hedges and plants dividing. All pitches are level.
Evening entertainment was low key quiz on a Monday and a Disco on a Friday (not brilliant unless you like Jive Bunny played repeatedly). Food in the pub was nice and you get a free childs meal with 2 Main Meals... brilliant. Shop was well stocked and the gardens are so pretty.
Gripes were No pub opening at lunchtimes even in High Season. Reception staff were a little offhand occasionally. Plane noise is a little annoying (Bournemouth airport up the road).
All in all this was a wonderful site and im sure we'll be returning next year.

July 2004 We camped in the Woodland area of the site (no EHU here) and it was just about perfect. Very well set out and not too far to walk to toilets / shower block - which were spotless. The site itself is very well kept and clean and there is lots to do and see. My kids loved the adventure playground and the walled leisure garden with crazy golf, croquet, boules etc-most of the activities were free-a deposit for equipment which is refunded. Loads to do and see in the area-go to Sandbanks beach-it a blue flag beach and you can tell why.
The pool area on site was a bit on the small side and the water definately wasn't heated but when it's 26 degrees outside the kids weren't complaining! Not enough sunloungers (we counted 4) or tables and chairs.
The only negative points-and I'm being picky here- are: the shop doesn't stay open late enough (5.30 pm) and it's a bit on the dear side and the 'proper' hairdryer in the ladies is in a really awkward position. So would we go again? Yes most definately. 9/10 Julie

June 2004 What a brilliant site! We had a fantastic 10 day holiday here, so much to do both on and off site. The site facilities are excellent, pitches are well-laid out and there's loads to keep the kids entertained..... mini-golf, croquet, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table-tennis, short-tennis, football, park, swimming pool(heated??!). The bar has a separate family area where a small disco and a family quiz were held during our stay. There are some fantastic beaches in the area, Sandbanks was our favourite, with a beach party and fireworks over the sea every Thursday night during the summer. The information centre on the site is worth a visit, it must hold every leaflet available for the area. Lot's of the leaflets contain money off vouchers (free child admission etc). It’s a great site and we will certainly be going back.

October 2003 They don't come much better than this. Everything about this site is well planned and maintained to a very high standard.
The pitches are mostly of a very good size, level and nicely separated by hedges and shrubs.
The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate.
Although there is no evening entertainment, Merley Court has just about everything else. A pub, tennis court, outdoor swimming pool, children's play area, volley ball court, pitch and putt golf course and even a large croquet lawn.
The site has a quiet, relaxed feel and in my opinion is ideal for couples and families with small children.
My only gripe is their policy of not letting dogs in from May to September and not allowing dogs in the pub at any time, but still one of my favourite sites and one I would highly recommend.

July 2003 Amazing! how can i put it? Me and the girlfriend went camping here, first time she has ever been camping and she now cant wait to go again.
We stayed in the woodland pitches (tents only) which i can highly recommend as you dont want to be stuck between two caravans in the main bit of the campsite!
The facilities there we 5* and they have all the awards to prove it! Crazy golf, beutiful gardens, laundry, cafe, restraunt, shop, pool, tennis, badminton, vollyball, ping pong to name a few!
We have decided to try and book some long weekends for next year here - be warned if your trying to stay here at a busy time you may have trouble as they are nearly always fully booked!
I recomend a trip to the local entertainment area "Tower park" which has a cinema, bowling, places to eat out and best of all an indoor waterpark! (the waterpark is miles better than the one in stoke-on-trent by the way!).
The site is very easy to find as it is off one of the main roundabouts on the way to poole. Also the campsite is idealy located to get into poole & bournemouth!

July 2003 We've just returned from Dorset and we had a fantastic holiday. We stayed at Merley Court for a week in a large dome tent - we had a pitch in the woodland area which was really ideallic!! There were lots of little rabbits, loads of different birds and squirrels - our little girl loved it. The facilities were clean and there was plenty of free hot water and free hairdryers. The shop is an Aladdin's cave and they have facilities for loaning ice-packs, which was useful.
Our only critisism would is that the pool is advertised as heated but the water was cold and our little girl wouldn't go in. Also, the Reception staff (although polite) could have been friendlier i.e offering advice on local attractions, asking if we had a good stay etc.
We would return to this site again as a main plus was their 'no noise' after 11pm policy - which is very welcome with a 15-month old baby.
