Myself & husband and two children 12 & 8 have just returned from Merley Court. We had a fab 4 nights. Our pitch was a good size with electric hook up and water tap nearby. Also very close and convenient to a toilet / shower block which were lovely and clean at all times. They have two small tennis courts which the kids enjoyed using, a small playground with swings etc and an outdoor pool with small child section. Although the pool is small it was adequate. There was evening entertainment quiz, bingo etc and a games room. In the reception area there is also a small shop which sells food, drink, ice creams and quite a lot of camping gear, stove etc just in case you have left anything behind. There is also a camping shop located next door with an even bigger selection. There is lots to do in the local area. We spent time at the lovely sandy beaches in Bournemouth, Ski slopes in Christchurch to name just a few. We recommend this site and certainly plan to return.

Decent campsite, good pitches, good outdoor pool, good caravan and camping shop nearby that stocks a lot of equipment, even had continental spare fuses for my caravan. Downsides are rip off prices for almost everything, for instance, a kids milkshake costs about 2.50, I did check to see if the cow was included in the cup. It was not. The Site has a wooded dog walk area, there are some euro tents in the woods that people can hire but be advised that they are sited on possibly the worst pitches ever, dark, dark, dark, would be ok if you have night vision goggles that can work 24/7.

After reading the reviews, we were locking forward to our visit, but have to say, we were a little disappointed. First visit to the ladies loos found the sanitary bins in every cubicle overflowing, not nice. This was late afternoon, just 3-4 hours after the block had been cleaned. The loos and showers were only cleaned once a day which is sometimes not enough when the weather is grotty and muddy feet trail in and out of the blocks. Also, did not have a decent shower the whole time we were there, thermostats on showers seemed erratic and after a blast of scalding water followed by a blast of cold, I decided to just have a hose down in the caravan; not an option open to those in tents. Our children (aged 15 and 12) went to the pool, only to find it bursting to the seams with 6 year olds and inflatable toys, great if you are an under 10, but not great for everyone else.T here was a distinct lack of welcome in the bar / restaurant area, with all kinds of contradictory signs as to whether children could be in the bar / only when eating in the bar, so we decided not to bother. I realise many people may disagree with our review, but for the very high price paid I think the least we could expect was clean toilets and safe showers.

Just arrived home this afternoon after spending an extended weekend at Merley Court.
This was our first camping trip (well, since childhood anyway) and we were worried that we wouldn't have much choice of camp sites given that we had to take our van as we had bought so much camping gear, we couldn't fit it into our car. Most sites have a no commercial vehicle policy - understandable - but, I phoned the camp site operator (Shorefield Holidays) and explained our situation. Merley Court were most obliging. Whilst we were not permitted to keep the van by our pitch, we were allowed to unload our stuff and then park the van in the car park by the entrance. We really appreciated this.
We arrived and were given directions to our serviced pitch which was located conveniently near to the well stocked shop, the shower block and the bar. Our large family tent (7mx4m) had plenty of room around it. We were given a card for access to the park (£5 deposit) so we could come and go as we pleased. The pitch was nicely kept with a hedgerow around two sides of us which housed the electric hook-up.
The showers and toilets were without doubt the cleanest I have ever come across. Having such clean facilities actually encourage you to keep them clean. I mopped out the shower after every use (mop and bucket conveniently provided for the use) They even have the radio playing in the shower block which made me smile and there was always toilet paper. There was plenty of hangers / hooks and shelves for your clothes whilst you shower and the water was always hot with a good jet of water that you did not have to run around in to get wet ! The best bit is, the showers are all in with the price of the pitch so no taking bags of 20p's in with you.
The bar was friendly and provided a big selection to keep everyone well watered. The games room had plenty to keep the youngsters amused and the food was very good.
We didn't get a chance to sample the swimming pool but it did look very clean and tidy. Likewise, the tennis courts and children's play area looked well maintained too.
The site is situated around 15 minutes from Poole / Bournemouth and is off the main A31. The site enjoys a quiet location which is near enough to any amenity you'd need. We found the site staff to be friendly and most helpful.
When it came to our final day (sadly) we enquired as to the check out time of 10am as we felt we would struggle to pack everything up by then and we considered booking an extra night - no need ! for an extra £7 we could have a late check out (up till 4pm) which we readily took advantage of. We found the extra time well worth the £7 so take advantage of it (if available - depending on when the next occupant is arriving).
For those needing any camping equipment, there is a camping shop next door to the site.
I cannot think of a single thing that we didn't like about Merley Court and we will definitely be back for more of this fabulous touring park.

A very well kept site, easy to find. We stayed on one of their executive pitches which included, water, waste and TV aerial. It seems all their pitches are level and a good size, plenty of room to park the car and awning etc. Shop sold all the essentials and there is a handy caravan / camping shop next door. The outdoor pool was quite small but clean and lifeguard on duty when open. You do have free use of Oakdeans indoor leisure complex which is a few miles away (sadly we ran out of time to use the facilities). Toilet / shower blocks were kept clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. The laundry and washing facilities were very good too. Only went to the bar once for a quick drink, odd place that could do with modernising. Overall a lovely clean and quiet site.

Just back today from a wonderful week at Merley Court.
I would guess the site was around 3/4 full (we went a week before schools out), but never ever felt crowded or busy.
We walked around most of the camp over the course of our stay and all of the pitches seemed very generous and well maintained. Drainage seems excellent as it rained quite heavily overnight a few times but was never muddy and not a puddle in sight.
I cannot say enough about the facilities, we only used the shower block nearest us (it was the main block) and it was absolutely spotless. It consisted of a separate male and female loo and shower block, a laundry room and a room to do your washing up.
The showers were great, there were either 6 or 8 (I cannot remember exactly) but were very nice and private with walls and doors that went to the floor so you never caught site of anyone's feet in the next cubicle.
The pool was great, nice and clean and never seemed busy at all, I think there might of been 10 people at the most using it at any one time.
The pub and onsite restaurant were nice although a touch pricey and the onsite shop was well stocked with fresh goods (bread, milk etc) as well as odds and ends that you might have left at home.
Without exception the staff were tip top, from the life guard at the pool to the chap behind the bar who spectated while we played Jenga while enjoying a drink, they were all really lovely people.
We rely on Electric Hook Ups, but on seeing the woodland pitches we may have to reconsider as they were spectacularly nice, really secluded!
I guess the site is a little isolated and you will need a car to get to any of the local tourist spots, but nothing was really to far away.
We went to Monkey World (35-40 mins away), Bournemouth (25-30 mins), Poole (20 mins away) and the Sandbanks (25 mins away), they were all very easy to get to on quite major roads so no trying to navigate through narrow lanes etc. Incidentally if you haven't been to the Sandbanks you really need to go, easily the nicest beach I have been to in years!

Visited end of June for extended weekend break. As we have a fairly large tent (7.1 x 4m without guy ropes) we were advised when booking that most pitches were only 7 x 7m but a few slightly larger ones were available. On arrival, the pitch we'd booked with EHU was overlooked on all sides so we were offered a selection of other pitches, all of which had EHU, were flat with small hedges breaking the pitches up and would easily have accommodated the tent and left plenty of space for parking.
We did a quick switch, no fuss checking in just a £5 deposit for the barrier keycard and all done. Found it a bit odd as so many sites hand you a load of info, site maps and rules and regs when you check in, but here it was still professional but seemed really laid back.
Settled in on one of the more secluded pitches, very peaceful, not too crowded at all. Shower block not too far away, only 3 showers in each but never had to wait to use them. Basic but more than adequate facilities.
Had heavy rain & thunderstorms through 1st night but awoke in morning to find the pitch had taken it in its stride. No flooding or waterlogging anywhere at all considering the site is fairly flat.
Great to come back from the beach and use the heated pool late afternoon. Separate shallow bit for toddlers and bar right next door. Lifeguard always on duty but seemingly always a bit miserable and keen to get away early - supposed to be open till 6pm but was regularly telling people time was up and to get out when it was only 5:30pm.
Good quiet location set far enough away from the roads not to really notice but easy links for Poole, Brighton & Sandbanks. Need car to go most places so parking charges soon add up.
There were groups with children that arrived by the weekend and before you knew it, a dozen toddlers were running around screaming and playing amongst everyones pitches. I don't mind kids and fair enough, kids want to play - but round my tent at 6.45 in the morning is not the way I like to stir from my slumber!
There was another large family group that started up a campfire too, but I guess due to lack of warden patrols and basic info on rules, these were quite mild issues that were bound to crop up on an otherwise laid back and relaxing site.
All in all, a good base site to camp and explore the area and would visit again.

Visited on a the Conway Owners Rally. Lovely clean site with plenty of room. Facilities spotless with piped music whilst you shower. Well stocked and helpful shop but little dear but great staff. Crowded over the weekend but emptied out on the Monday.
Great little narrow railway just through wooded camping area. No charge for railway but not operating every weekend. Useful camping shop just down the lane again not cheapest but good range of goods.
Residential static site (same owners) deserted but nice to stroll around. Pitch and putt golf course also adjacent.
Poole and all its attraction short drive away
Would definitely go again!

Excellent facilities.
Showers, toilets and washing up facilities could not be faulted. Everything was very clean and new - only gripe with showers was having to hit the button every so often for water, but hey, can't have it all.
Nice sized pitches.
Site was nice and quiet when we went, with little car traffic so were happy for our children to run around by tent.
Have already re-booked for end of June stay

Just got home from our first visit to this campsite,it was a really lovely bank holiday weekend. This site is a short drive from the beaches and quayside of Poole, and in easy reach of the tourist attractions the county has to offer.
It would make a good base for families wanting to spend a few days out and about in the summer holidays, it has plenty of things to do on the stay on site days too.
The pitches were clean and tidy some with hedges between them for privacy, they vary in size, so it's worth checking if you need a bit extra space.
Some of the pitches are in the woods and I also noticed a few new euro style frame tents set up + waiting for customers - really handy if you want to try out camping before you commit to buying everything Millets has to offer!
There are three shower blocks and a couple of bathrooms which are cleaned regularly and the dishwashing and laundry rooms looked in good condition.
There is a tea room on the site open daily for breakfast, lunch and cakes etc. It is closed in the afternoon but food is available from the bar and there is also a take away menu.
The bar has an adults only room and a family room which leads on to a games room with air hockey, pool tables and a few games machines - not too much, just enough to keep the older kids happy. There is also a small playroom for toddlers and a kids club featuring Cyril the squirrel for the little ones. The bar even has board games to use on those wet weekends.
The site has a clean heated outdoor swimming pool with a lifeguard at peak times and a nice safe play area.
The shop is well stocked and the staff are friendly + helpful.
At the rear of the site we found a cycle trailway that leads all the way to Poole Quay it's about a 6 mile ride but there's no need to go on the roads at all, it's a lovely way to travel and the beer tastes so good when you get there!
I would say this site would suit all types of campers of any age.The tariff is fair with no extra charge for awnings etc. And the pitch price includes up to 6 people per pitch, making it good value for our family.
The only downside I could find is that the leaving time is 10am - too early for us and all our junk, so it's worth booking an extra night so you can pack up at your leisure and leave when you feel like it.
So impressed we're going to book for the summer holidays.
