July, 2003 We have visited Sandford for th 6th time now over the last 15 years. What a great shame this site is being spoilt by an Arcade complex which you have to go through to get to any evening entertainment. We had a Euro Tent this year, instead of taking our own, it was great to have a fridge and lovely beds, but they have put them in the wrong place, right by the shower block. After our discussions with management we do hope they move them to a quieter spot, as it was very noisy at night with drunken teenagers. One night until 3 in the morning. Our complaint was dealt with. I understood the bars are open until 1 a.m. Is that really neccessary? Some people do like to get some sleep when on holiday.

July 2003 A beautiful site with over 500 medium to small size pitches plus a huge static van park. Not a site to go to if you want peace and quiet especially at night when the noise may go on till 2 o clock in the morning. If you don't want your children buying alcohol keep them out of the bars!! Found grossly inadequate ventilation in the pool/ darts room and was told the air conditioning was broken (it didn't get fixed in our weeks stay)Also found locked doors marked FIRE EXIT in the pool room. Parked close to a dismally poor toilet block. If free showers means getting sprayed with a light mist that turns off every 30 seconds I would rather not bother. Sorry, but a poorly managed site that I will not be going back to.

June 2002 Great site, in the new forest, Indoor and outdoor heated pool, great entertainment for both adults and children, very helpful camp staff. good shower and toilet facilities. Loads of local tourist atractions. Plenty to do for adults and children. Camp shop very reasonable prices. Great Pizza take away in Wareham. Only gripe there were lots of ants and molehills, if your camping in a tent take ant powder or spray with you, but they do sell it in the camp shop. Would go back again. prices very reasonable considering what you get in with your pitch price.

Aug 2002 My first visit to Sandford with my fairly new tent. Pitch large enough but very close to the road. Site facilities - pool, entertainment etc. brilliant but toilet/shower block very disappointing. Toilets not very good standard of cleanliness even when just re-opened after it's hour closure for 'cleaning'! and amount of showers ridiculous for the size of the site! Portaloos/showers absolutely awful, would definitly not use them! Every day in my 12 days there, women were gathering to complain about state of toilets. Some told me they had been there before and the standard had gone down drastically. (Let's hope they bring back previous cleaning company) Poole and surrounding area so lovely, lots to do/see, site facilities very good, would be keen to go back there if and when the toilet/shower facilities improve.

August 2002 This was our third visit to Sandford, we last stayed there approximately 4 years ago.
Whilst the site is vibrant and there is a lot going on, some of the basic facilities such as showers, toilets etc have been neglected at the expense of a large amusement arcade, which seems to be the only thing the management have invested in since our last visit.
To cope with the demand for showers a number of Portaloos have been installed - sufice it to say that residents of Wormwood Scrubs would have felt at home in them!
We must admit we were disappointed and will not be returning until facilities (both quantity and quality)are brought up to modern standards.

August 2002 We have just returned from Sandford. We were pitched opposite the toilet block and unfortunately found it to be very noisy especially about 1.30am, when people were returning from their nights out. The toilets and showers leave a lot to be desired and there simply aren't enough showers for the amount of people on the park in peak season. On the plus side, the children enjoyed the swimming pools. We have quite a large trailer tent and the size of the pitch wasn't large enough, the only way we could fit it onto the pitch was to have part of it covering a man hole which unfortunately when it rained it ran into the tent. All in all a very busy site, although the area is lovely.

We visited this site in a small dome tent 2 summers ago (2000). It was a very busy August Bank Holiday weekend (Weather OK). We made full use of all the facilities and found that for our short 4 night stay it offered plenty! Entertainment very good and varied and found it to be a very clean site and that is despite there being hoards of people. Good location, good size pitches but they are on road ways for cars, good shop and always lots of helpful staff. It wouldn't always be our first choice as it is quite expensive to pitch (worth it though) and would always try to go off peak. Our daughter really enjoyed it and would chose it over anywhere else if we weren't camping with friends.
