We booked for two nights, arrived at 7pm to find their was no hot water to wash up. The electric hook ups are situated right next to the children's play area, and are not marked out.
We went to the showers which were dirty from bird droppings which had nested in the campers toilet & shower block, the showers were hot but were very small and narrow and need a facelift as they were very date.
Woke up to a very very windy morning due to our location near the electric points and play-area, yet there was no wind next to the trees.
Bad points!
Staff not very friendly
Shop was closed on arrival
Drinking Water next to rubbish bins
Children running in and out of tents/pitch area
No noise curfew!
Very windy location
Will not be going back!
We did not use the any of the site amenities such as the club, swimming pool or chippy, so can not comment!

Excellent site with new hard standing pitches and electric hook up. New wash block due open any time now, (At least by December 09), the old block is dated but fine. (Good shower!)
The owners make you feel very welcome. On our visit they had arranged an end of season party with Marquee, Pig roast and entertainment. A real treat and pleasant surprise.
The site is just a short drive to Wells centre (Good parking and cheap) for all the sites. If you prefer you can cycle to town. A few hills but nothing too bad.
Easy access to the rest of region. Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and the coast are all within a short drive.
I would recommend the site even with just the old wash block but know that the new block is almost finished. We are already planning a return visit!

We spent two nights here with two adults and three children. Fortunately we arrived late on Friday, spent all day Saturday at a wedding and left early on Sunday as there was no play area for the children and little in the way of 'natural features' for them to explore in lieu. However, the staff were very friendly, the site was clean and well maintained and we'd certainly use it as a stopover point again if not for a holiday as such.

This is a lovely new looking site and when it is finished it will be fab .
There is very little for kids to do (there is a field but this is really an over flow field or for those not wanting ehu )although you can hire bikes.
Wookie hole is in walking distance as is the local leisure centre .
Shop wise again you have a small Tesco and a spar which are both only 10minutes away .
The owners were very accommodating to us and allowed us to stay extra nights as the clutch on the car went and we were very stranded .Even though we were unable to leave until 7pm we were only charged for the nights that we stayed .
Definitely worth a visit.

As Ratty review said most things,a very nice, clean and friendly site.How-ever,don't judge by the google earth image as the new road layout and hardstandings make the site a lot more civilised.Would be a great improvement when the new shower/toilet block is finished.
Owner very helpful on everything asked like parking in Wells, dog walks etc.
Overall a good site and when new block is completed,a very good site.

We have just returned from Haybridge after a 10 day stay, we found the campsite to be very clean and well presented.
The pitches are mainly hard standing on gravel with tarmac roads around the site and very well lit at night by post lighting.
The site is mainly aimed at motorhomes and caravans although there is a small field for tents as well
Whilst we there there was a lot of work being done to complete a new toilet and shower block, at present the old block although dated is adequate for your needs with no queues and cleaned daily.
There is a small shop on site for the essentials and some camping equipment although shops including a large Tesco are only a mile from the site.
Haybridge is an ideal location for lots of varied days out with Wookey hole and the city of Wells only a short distance away, slightly further afield is Glastonbury, Weston Super Mare and Street only a short drive
The only negatives for us was the lack of play area for children and no dog walk however the owner told us that he is planning on extending the site where these will be included.
We will definitely return to Haybridge park at some point as this would be a very good winter campsite.

As a site it is great if you want to make sure you avoid the mud of a British summer. The toilet block looks like it will be spot on when it is finished and a nice new block always adds something to a site.
One thing that is a shame though is that there is nothing on site for the children to do. There is no play area and judging by the plans on the wall in reception there won't be either and the open field mentioned is going to be filled with cabins. If you have a van, awning and car on your pitch there isn't even room to play next to the van. I also didn't notice an area on the plans for a camping field, so you might want to check that if you plan to visit. There is nothing stopping tents using hard standing but it doesn't feel quite right.
Having 3 children I doubt I will visit this site again as the only place they have to play is on the road, at that is a major factor. I do think it would make a good adults only site, but I don't think it is any good for kids.
Pros
Good Hardstanding pitches Close to Wells New toilets should be good.
Cons
Too much Hardstanding No play area Might not be geared for tents in the future. Current toilets not great. Limited shop hours.

This site is located just 1 mile from the centre of Wells and offers all the facilities one would expect of a site.
The owner appears to have spent money over the winter period terracing the slight slope and putting in tarmac roads, plenty of EHU points, fresh water taps aplenty, fire extinguishers, lighting and a new facilities block, due to open in early May '09. There is still a field with just grass, which is what appeals to me, but after the last two summers I can understand the hardstanding pitches, some with grass for the awning, some with gravel.
The EHU was plenty powerful enough to have a small 1.2kw heater on in the awning in the evening. The site has a small shop selling the essentials, from bread to bacon, milk to marshmellows, etc.
The facilities were clean and well presented with two toilets, two showers and three urinals in the mens and 3 toilets and three showers in the ladies. Plenty of hot water for the sinks and showers, so made washing and showering a pleasure on the cold mornings. The shower temperature was not controllable and at times was pretty hot.
There is a washing up area next to the facilities block with plenty of hot water and also under shelter should the weather be against you.
The site has a barrier which requires an electronic card for entry and this is available when you check in.
The nearest town is Wells and is 1 mile away up the hill, where you will find all the normal shops, including a Spar and a large Tesco, plus plenty of other interested shops to wander around. In Wells is the magnificent Wells Cathedral and other historical buildings that make interesting viewing.
Further afield, yet not too far you have the delights of Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and of course all the other attractions of the area.
The nearest pub would be in Wells, however we did not visit so cannot comment.
There was not Three 3G coverage at the site, but Orange did get a 3G signal, Vodafone did get a 3G signal also. Once the new facilities block is completed there will also be Wi-Fi on the site too.
A nice site and one that I may return to when in the area, however there is lots of choice in this part of the world and just too many campsites to visit and I like to try something new. The only negative for me is too much tarmac, but that is a real bonus for lots of others.

The site is very clean and hedges and grass kept in good order.
The toilets and shower facilities all very clean, stocked with toilet paper.
Although it rained we had a great time, the owner very friendly, and sociable.
We were very happy and our children were very comfortable there.
Will definitely visit again. We were a party of 3 vans and the owner was happy for us to set ourselves up as a 'U' shape, which was great for our kids.

We booked to stay at this site on a Friday night on our way to Devon for the Bank Holiday weekend.
There still seemed to be some spaces upon our arrival so it would seem to be a good bet for a late booking.
The toilet block was OK and the site was well kept. It was also quite reasonably priced.
The real advantage of this site is that it is within walking distance of Wells which is a really beautiful if very small city.
The Cathedral with its famous clock is well worth a visit. The city was quite lively on the Friday night without feeling threatening.
I would certainly go back for a stop over or a short break.
