On the service a nice looking site. On arrival, no site map, no instructions for showers, EHU etc. We were pitched near the river, which was lovely.
The area to access the river bank was left unkempt and had been littered which was disappointing. We were in a quiet spot, which we were grateful of, after walking around the rest of the site.
Then came the toilets. Just awful, dirty and well used to say the least. 1 shower in the ladies toilet was OK, but I declined after seeing I needed a token from reception & the overall state of the area was not up to standard.
The pub across the road is a real boon tbh. We won't return. If you have your own showering and toilet facilities you may feel differently.

First time camping, really enjoyed it, bit disappointed with there only being 2 showers and few toilets considering size of site, they were also quite a walk from non electric site,
Very helpful staff and other visitors friendly, however on night before we were due to leave we had to leave unexpectedly at 2am in morning to go home, we could not exit site so had to ring number on website, thankfully someone who lived close by answered and came to let us out, which we were very thankful for,
Overall we had a good experience and will return

A very well kept site, obviously COVID-19 meant all facilities were closed.
But it’s a site where you should be prepared to use your own facilities as the toilet and shower block is very limited if the site is busy

If you want peaceful & beautiful waterfront land, like their write up says on their webpage then you will be highly disappointed.
Their video actually sold us this weekend away & being part of the CCC you think they would have some standards to live up to. ( We are none members )
We booked for along weekend Friday to Monday, we pulled up to a lovely well maintained reception area.
With a warden caravan & a horse trailer which is a pizza shop at night times.
What you actually get is the most miserable old man on reception with the pitches on a sheets of paper ( he couldn’t fined our booking ) but replied have you actually booked or just turned up ? No Iv booked. He eventually found our name and said are you going off site this weekend, my reply to his answer was yes, he then produced 2 plastic smart card passes for the gate / barrier.
Took my money by card, more than it should of been £17 per night x 3 = £51 but charge £64, so presumably the rest is for the barrier key ( doesn’t say we get a refund on check out ) we aren’t given any information about the site, IE: where the loos / showers are, wash up area or even where the rubbish bins are sited.
We where shown to our pitch by a lady in a van to the field at the far end of the site. Up near the play park omg! You know then that it’s not going to be the peaceful weekend you had planned.
The pitches are large, flat with well cut grass so that’s a bounds, no lighting on site at all so it’s going to be pitch black at night, take a torch.
Once everyone starts to pitch up, tents, caravans, Motorhome & camper vans, then you realise that
Your packed in like sardines and other people’s noise is going to be a problem.
Something else that’s not explained, when you’re connected to the EHU and the kettle won’t come on and you thinking it’s tripped out.
What you find out after a while of fiddling with the switches is the second smart card with the chip in, has to be inserted into the electric box until it says success. If your a heavy user of electric think you might have to question it if you uses more than you paid for ?
We pitched up and sat with a brew, and knew that with 20 + kids of all ages wondering round the site on their own, some from the age of 3 going to and from the play park crying, girls screaming, boys falling out fighting.
We had a walk round the site, looking nothing like the Ariel view on their website ( must be when they first opened the site ) to find the new Morden loos??
What we find is a cabin with the dirtiest loos/ showers, the ladies 2 loos 1 shower with the trough like sink, with cheap paper loo roll littered all over the the floor & hand wash area.
The mens ( what a stink ) 2 loos, trough sink & urinal, no shower?
But there is a room in the entrance that is a unisex shower not much bigger than a broom cupboard, so if you are more than 5”8 tall and larger than average size your going to struggle to have a shower.
There is also a disable loo on its own, but everyone uses it.
There’s alway a queue for the loos and most people with kids bring them down in the vehicles, so it’s a maze of dumped cars.
Definitely not enough loo facilities, for the amount of people on site.
The morning after I thought I’d have a early shower before the crowds. Stood naked wondering why the water won’t come out of the shower when someone said have you put your £1 in the meter.
Something else the website or the old man forgets to mention
Lots of hot water in the showers and you do get a long time for your £1, I always mop when I come out of a shower but the mop and bucket was full of stinky dirty water.
Someone did say if you didn’t have COVID 19 going in you’ll have it coming out.
There is hand sanitizer on the outside of the cabin but it had run out when we came to use it.
But nobody even cared about 2 meter distancing or COVID, don’t even think the campsite owner cares either, think they just want to make money.
It’s the first campsite I know that will allow large groups of people. ( can’t party or meet at home book a camping pitch then you can all meet up )
The river bank with private moorings you can just about see if you stand on the bank and look over the tall over grown weeds.
Not much to look at really, some are lovely but don’t think the owners really want you to be nosing at the property.
Older kids playing / swimming in the river, so if your fishing no chance of catching anything, lovely to see 2 swans & a few duck.
Came back to out pitch, another brew & some dinner, it was very breezy (but can’t do anything about that ) what we saw was large parties of friends & families turning up that had booked up-to 5 pitches next to each other, not just in our field either, so you know it’s going to be party time & no social distancing at all.
We know from conversations with a lady who had been there all week that all her family was coming to stay on site for the weekend. That was another 5 pitches of family not social distancing & partied all weekend think the noise went on till 1am.
1 pitch near use had come so her daughter could party with her friends ( change of scenery ? ) what we got was 6 teenage girls 2 teenage boys 4 adults all parting until early hours.
There is a 11pm no noise policy that’s definitely not put in force ( why they have a warden I don’t know not seen him or her ) they didn’t come round to any of the noisy campers after 11pm.
All dogs need to be on a lead, most are except for one or two and in all honesty there’s been no dogs barking.
Something else that’s not explained, when you’re connected to the EHU and the kettle won’t come on & you thinking it’s tripped out to find out that the smart card they gave you is for the electric that you have to insert it until it reads success.
If your a heavy user of electric think you might have to question it ?
There isn’t a washing up area at all on site so I asked the camper at the back of us and she said you just throw away your dirty water on the bushes & the bins are at the main entrance, we also timed our walk to the showers just 10 mins so if it’s raining take a brolly.
It was very heavy rain one night we stayed and the worn away drive ways / paths are full of water.
Uneven gravel paths all round this site.
Not sure if more is happening on site as lots of piles of dumped stones or is it to fill in the holes.
When we arrived Friday there was a drowning noise all day and night, we found out it a very large generator in the field next to the river that’s pumping water from the river to the potato field on the other side of the campsite. (It’s not on Sunday morning, but we did have horrendous rain over night. )
We don’t want a slip & slid with kids running up & down the hill with bottles of washing up liquid & a hosepipe, we don’t want remote controlled jeeps speeding up & down the campsite, we don’t want to other campers bad language and music.
The pub over the road looked busy, we didn’t use it.
There is a small coop in the village about 30 mins walk but 10 mins in a car.
This weekend was definitely not for us.

We have stayed here several times, usually on the 5 van ccc pitches. These are fantastic Riverside location and well large enough for our 5 ton unit.
Shower and toilet facilities are completely inadequate for site size but we mainly use our own facilities or those of the excellent pub opposite.
Can be quite noisy on main site at weekends and partying is pretty much the norm.
Disappointed this visit due to no explanation of the card system used for electric supply, and the fact that you are now charged for usage if you exceed the daily allowance, would have appreciated this being covered on check in.
Warden can be somewhat taciturn in manner though not unpleasant if you persevere.
All in all will probably visit again if we can get ccc pitch as location is great for launching our kayak and family visiting for the day.

Beautifully maintained level site and welcoming warden. Plenty of hardstandings. There is just one very small loo block with two showers, but to be fair the info does say you'll need your own facilities and there are several Elsan points.
It would be nice to get a map of the service points as we missed seeing the closest tap to our pitch! The 2 mile footpath over to West Stockwith is delightful and there you'll find a choice of two dog friendly pubs. The Haxey Gate (opposite the site entrance) only allows dogs in outside seating areas.
The downsides - the rules on dogs are ignored by some which is a shame. Dogs are supposed to be on lead and not left unattended. Adjacent and behind us we had two pitches with three dogs running loose; sure they were fairly well behaved, but one kept coming to stare into our awning at our dog and another was left in its caravan alone for several hours, barking a lot.
A different unit left a young dog loose outside in their fenced "garden" area while they were out all day and it barked a lot. Finally further down the site around 6:30 am while walking my dog I saw a chap come out of his awning and stand watching while his dog trotted off to relieve itself on other people's car and van wheels.

Very nice well maintained site.
Toilets basic but clean.
Lots of walks along the River Idle with plenty of wildlife to see.
Friendly staff to show you to your pitch.
