Enjoyed our visit and met some wonderful people on site.
Location is great, close to some local pubs and villages.
We would stay again if in the area.

As soon as we pulled in, we knew we were going to love this site.
Beautiful scenery on rolling hills and lots of choice of where to pitch. A very warm welcome from the owners where nothing was too much trouble.
A great farm shop selling essentials and more. Excellent facilities including disabled access. Recycling bins - a big tick for us!
A very short walk to woodlands and the beautiful canal and lots of beautiful scenic walks around without having to drive off site. Lots of villages just a stones throw with take aways, pubs, butchers, bakers and independent shops.
Definitely up there as a favourite site and location for us!
We walked to the Pots and Pans memorial (you can see it from the site) took about 1 hour 15 mins to get there - its a bit of an effort to get up the hill but well worth the view. Such friendly people all around too :)

A green oasis within 6 miles of Oldham centre. Flat level spacious fields, surrounded by woods, allow plenty of space between pitches (wish my grass at home was as good!).
A very warm welcome, easy registration in the small farm shop which had a good selection of local produce, organic veg, milk and some meats.
As others have said, the toilet cubicles are wet rooms, including shower, sink and toilet. All seemed clean and tidy. Pub just up the road. Views of high moors quite close.
The road noise was noticeable by day but not later on. No WiFi.
We were visiting on family business but I'd certainly go back for a longer stay to explore.

Beautiful location and very well kept grass. Lovely shop on site that sells all local produce. Very very eco friendly and the staff are lovely and welcoming.
I didn't like the toilet/shower set up. There is 6 wet rooms that have a shower, toilet and sink in each one. They are warm and have great hot water.
However there was usually urine around the floor that then washed around your feet while in the shower and nowhere clean to put your clothes and towel while showering. This is the fault of other campers and staff alike.
They need cleaning more often and toilet roll topped up more often. The kitchen is just a sink with warm water and nothing else.
It's a perfect spot if you like roughing it for a few days but camping with a family for a week is a bit much. If you need an electric socket you pay a donation to a rescue team.
I was fine with that but should be mentioned on there website.
I would go back but only for a few days.
Again the staff are amazing

Fantastic friendly campsite. Lovely level, green and soft grass, well spaced units.
Good facilities and excellent farm shop and warm welcome.
We'll be back I'm sure as it was so convenient to a wonderful climbing area!
Thank you!

Booked as a stop over to Yorkshire, wasn't expecting much but pleasantly surprised. 2 Spacious grass fields as well as hardstanding for wobbleboxes.
Farm shop. Nice views, near a wood, and looked like some interesting walks nearby. Didn't stay long enough to really explore but would stay again if passing and make a point of staying longer to explore.
Toilets and showers clean and owners friendly.

Visited this campsite last summer with friends. We've camped at many many different campsites over the years and never felt so uncomfortable as we were made to feel at this one.
Very strict rules and an almost constant presence of the owners patrolling the site all evening. We got told off (literally like school children) for allowing our children to go to the toilet on their own, even though they were well behaved and perfectly capable.
Also you are not allowed to talk outside after 10pm. I agree that rules should exist to discourage antisocial behaviour and make the stay enjoyable for everyone but I would describe myself as a courteous camper and have never been told off on a campsite before.
The facilities are ok but for some reason less than half of the 5 toilets seemed to be open so there was often a long wait. There was no hot water at the taps although the toilet cubicles were nice and warm.
There is a farm shop but I but I didn't dare go in to look after being spoken to like a naughty child the night before! Tesco is about half a mile away and there are good pubs at the top of the road in both directions.
Be warned there is also a slightly bizarre pricing structure where you get charged an under-occupancy fee if your tent isn't full. Extra for gazebos. No visitors allowed.
If you are a single or couple you'll probably be ok going here but I do not recommend for families with children.

We've stayed here a few times over the years and the site has improved considerably with the improvements to the facilities and the addition of the farm shop. It's a lovely location and although some people have commented about the noisy road, I guess it depends where you live, as we live on a main road so hardly noticed any noise!
However, since the new people have taken over we feel the place has become rather strict and regimented and don't particularly feel relaxed when we stay. The woman who runs the shop and takes the bookings isn't always very friendly or approachable, you just don't know what mood she'll be in when you have to deal with her. Others we were talking to on our recent visit said the same. We felt like we were being watched and daren't put a foot wrong.
So we feel this may be our last visit to what is a lovely location and what could be a relaxing stay. But until the current owners change their attitude we don't want risk another unpleasant stay.
