This site is set in a beautiful area, near to the canal that can be walked along to Uppermill.

Unfortunately the facilities need an upgrade, it was very busy on the site and two of the potaloos were full and unusable, the third was working, had soap, but no water to wash hands. There were 2 showers that had toilets inside, there seemed to be plenty of hot water.

If the facilities were sorted this would be a fab site.

I first whent to this site with my brother at the beginning ov the year and now its my second home at this time I have been here for a month,

We are on the river side it has room for 8 vans

A nice view and realypeace full.

No toilets on this side

On the other site across the road you can put up a tent, camper caravan etc.

It has 2 showers, one has a ramp into it, it also has a place to wash up and a washing machine,

In the court yard next to the dairy shop it has a toilet and shower, thier are portaloos in the other yard, the owner nigel is a realy great guy goes out of his way to help. Thier is a site stuward thier also to help you, the pub is just up the road and others in the village, lots of places to go and vissit.

Has I have seid I have been here a month and will be here now till october. No extra charges for awnings or dogs, 15 pounds a night well spent, for the views and pease

Hi' we totally love this place. Beautiful surrounds. And always feel welcome! its becoming our second home! plenty of things to do around the area. Fishing walking! loads of pubs not to far away! super market two mins drive away! toilets are okay! two showers one in old building which is better than the one in the porta cabin. But to be honest what more can you ask for? if you want the Hilton! book there instead! we don't have garden at home! so it's nice to spend a couple of days in gods back garden ( so to speak) jack the grounds steward is a chatted great man! and nothing to much trouble! just wished the sun would shine a little more or we would be there very weekend! fantastic place to chill and great for couples and families dogs are welcome too! £5 per person per night! id pay £10! we love it!

I asked for a spot opposite the farm house next to the river. When I arrived it was full. They did get me on a spot next to the river but meant I had to share the EHU with another camper. This meant we had to be careful with the use of electric. Yes we did trip it between us. The toilets were the worst I have ever seen. They had been used, not flushed and used toilet tissue thrown around. Obviously this is down to the people using the site and not the people running the site. I reported this to the site warden. The next day I went to a different toilet, a portaloo type, this was in the same condition so I nipped off home instead. We only went for two nights to this site as it is local to me and I just wanted to erect a new awning I had bought, so it served its purpose. I have noticed they hold rallies there which is probably great for that, if you use your own toilet. It is positioned in a nice area but no effort seems to be made in running this as a caravan site. It's basically a field with electric supplied and that's it. It is a working farm and will probably be just what someone is looking for, but not me.

We are just back from a 2 night stay, on arriving i called at the farm to ask where to go. As the ground was boggy i was told to go on the area next to the farm.

To be honest it was not a proper pitch and we did overlook another van which was very close to us. We were about 10feet from the road and it did get noisy at times. There are two areas for this site one is on the farm and the other is overlooking the river. This is where we originally thought we were going to stay. Must point out that this area has no toilet block you have to cross over the road to get to the farm to use them, which is a long walk depending where you are pitched.

There was a portacabin which looked quite new, this had a shower toilet small sink and a washing up sink in it. We did use the shower but it was only luke warm on the highest setting. There was no mop or bucket and the floor did get wet and dirty. There was no chair either to put your clothes on.

There was another shower and toilet in the farmbuilding but as it had no heating we did not use it. This was the same place where you get water for drinking.

We found it quite strange that you disposed of your toilet and waste in the same place.

The people are friendly and offered to help set us up which was nice. The views are lovely, the dog area ?? Did not have one. The pub up the road sells lovely food as we ate there on the Saturday night.

£12 a night for caravan, with e/h they are working on the site, the hard standing is pretty bad, we did keep bringing dirt into the van which was a pain. If you want a basic site then this the site for you.

Went for the weekend. Lovely place. Everyone nice and friendly. Toilet block old and cold as no heating, didn't use the shower. Lovely walk up the canal. Great views. Shops and pub within walking distance. The farm sells eggs yoghurts, milk, etc. Had to get help off the farmer as with it raining didn't want to spoil the grass taking caravan off, he didn't mind helping out. We had a lovely view of the stream behind our caravan, shame it rained couldo of sat out with a glass of wine or 2

We decided to stay here for one night and try our new tent out with our two children, we were allowed to pitch the tent where ever we wanted so we decided to go on top of a small hill, which was not a good idea with strong winds blowing across the field! Not good when trying to put a large tent up so we moved down the hill and we couldn't even put the tent up there, so we decided not to stay here and go some where else.

I did not like the fact that dogs were roaming around without a lead and doing there business ,and the owners had not cleaned it up, not good when you are trying to put a tent up!

The toilet was ok, with a shower in the same room, so if you need the toilet and some one is in the shower you could wait quite a while. The cost is 4 pppn, quite cheap ,but I am sure I wont be visiting here again

Well. There is rustic and there is rustic and this site is rustic!

It looks like a while since a bottle of flash has been anywhere near the loo / shower and the camping field is not particularly tended.

Having said that the setting is beautiful and the walking is fantastic, and there are some nice pubs along the canal and we will go back again as we do prefer a relaxed site in a beautiful setting that is not too busy.

Myself & partner stayed here for the night a weekend ago, on arrival the manager was very welcoming & advised us where & where not to set up camp, as the site is next to a river & had some heavy rains so it can get a little water logged. We decided to set up in the field next to the farm, which has great views of the hills.

The site is very basic with one toilet & a shower which we didn't use so cant comment, . Plenty of hot water though.

Yes the site is next to a main road, . But it didn't stop us from throwing out the zzzz's.

As I say its very basic so if you wanting brightly painted toilet walls with pretty pictures hanging then I suggest you go elsewhere, but if like us after a heavy day of walking all you want is to rest your head then its ideal & for £8 for 2 people in a tent. Well worth it!

But! take the advice from the manager about where to go for a drink & food, we didn't & went to the places we thought looked walker friendly, got the opposite, even had the odd sneer, very unfriendly, especially The king William, be warned!

Definitely not a walker friendly village.

Five miles away from home, we decided to pitch our new tent, a practice run. We stayed for one night on a lovely evening.

On arrival there was no sign to guide you for payment so I knocked on the door of the farm and was greeted by the elderly owner, the fee was £15 per tent with no extra charge for additional people.

We drove onto the camping field, which had not been tended and had about 2ft of grass to drive through, uphill to the pitches.

We began to pitch and had a lovely reception from other guests there, offering help when they saw me and 2 two teens struggling!

The farm's toilet and shower facilities are very basic and in need of a clean at times, and I can see when there is more than the 15 ish tents there, there could be a queue of people for the one toilet available.

Overall it was ok for a test pitch, but I would not enjoy a longer stay there.

Recently drove past and the grass has been cut :-)
