We visited this campsite with a motorhome & to be honest apart from one or two the pitches aren't suitable for motorhomes as most are sloping side to side and front to back. We used chocks but still couldn't get a even set up,
Reception was helpful & let us move to another pitch a little better but still couldn't get level,
The waste water disposal is a built up box not a flat grate so we had to drive onto a service pitch on the last day to empty,
Also I cant understand why they charge for dogs as there isn't even a dog walk on site so what are we paying for ??
Showers clean but could with updating,
Reception staff helpful

This site was fantastic we were recommended it by a friend and couldn't believe how in expensive and such amazing value for money we received !
When we arrived the site had a lovely drive up to the reception and we parked up to get our info and find out all the info we found the site was very clean and tidy and the people and staff were so friendly and helpful we couldn't have asked for more. There were a lot of essential facilities and s much for the kids to do we got shown around and then showed to our pitch.
The only thing we found was the pitch we were given was a bit untidy there were lots of tent pegs still in the ground and it was quite uneven but the office was so close my husband went to enquirw they came and fixed the issue the best they could and we got set up
The toilets ans showers were very clean and accessible and even a separate kitchen area
The entertainment was brill and the entertainers were so friendly and brilliant with the kids we really did have a fabulous time the food was really nice and not over priced either drinks were reasonably priced and had a good selection.
The pool, arcade and play area were brilliant and you could even watch the kid whilst having a coffee and relax
We as a family loved sand le mere the only thing we stuggled with was going to different places and attractions round the area but there was so much to do on site it was easily compensated
We would go again but unfortunately the no longer take tents but would still recommend it to friends and family

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Sand-le-mere.
Our holiday started the Sunday before Easter and we returned on Easter Sunday.
The main reception/entertainment complex has been built within the last few years and is modern and clean. Housing a large entertainment club, swimming pool, restaurant, arcade, gym and small shop.
The site's primary business is static caravans of which there are row upon row.
The touring field has 51 pitches of which all are hard standing with approximately 6-8ft of grass between pitches with a tarmac road running around the field. Electric hook-ups are located close by. Rubbish bins are located around the perimeter of the field. One potential problem is only one chemical toilet and waste water disposal point. Rock pegs are required for pitching awnings.
The main complex houses a swimming pool with a splash pool and slide and a main pool with a max depth of 1. 5m. Family changing facilities are provided as well as lockers using a returnable £1 coin. The pool has a soft touch floor which I guess is to prevent stubbed toes when swimming in 1. 5m of water.
The entertainment club is large with seating for approx 500 people. We visited it Mon-Thursday easily getting a table to sit at. By the Friday/Saturday at 7pm it was standing room only unless you wanted to sit in the adjoining restaurant bar. Prices for drinks and snacks are reasonable for the venue. Food prices for breakfast and meals are cheap and plentiful offering excellent value.
One of the disadvantages to the close locations of the touring field to the entertainment complex is the noise levels can be excessive sometime until the early hours. Maybe best to request a pitch further away from the main complex if you want a quiet night time.
There is also a coffee shop which overlooks the swimming area which serves pleasant coffee with TV's to watch. A soft play area is also available for the under 10 to play in and burn off some energy. Close the front of the complex is a large children's play park which is close enough to the touring field to allow the kids to burn energy off whilst tea/lunch is cooked but still be within earshot.
One of the main reasons to visit the main complex is the free Wifi offered by Sand-le-mere. Fast and easily connectable.
Hornsea and Withernsea are the local towns to visit with light houses within both and local shops.
Hull is a little further afield but is well worth the extra miles. The Deep is the main attraction, fish in tanks. Hull city in more interesting. Hull Old Town quarter is very quaint with cobbled streets and historic builds. The William Willberforce Museum and Hull Museum of Working Life are all worth a visit and are FREE to visit.
The Market Place car park was the cheapest and most central located we found. £3 all day to park, compared to £10 in a shopping centre car park!
When we arrived (the Sunday before Easter) the touring pitch was a quarter full and all park facilities could be used and enjoyed. When we left on the Easter Sunday people were queuing to pitch on the touring field and the site was struggling to cope with the number of people occupying it.
Overall an enjoyable stay but not during peak holiday times.

Overall the campsite is tidy and quite modern as the owners have spent a considerable amount on the main building. Tourer field is clean and tidy and statics seem to be decent, pool is small but suitable for young children. Entertainment is limited and cheap as you would expect, nothing for adults to do unless you drink, couple of pool tables and a penny arcade all in quite a confined area. Now for the negative bit, camping field for tents is a disgrace, very dirty, ground is appalling and pitches are crammed together no space for playing or parking your car. Think again before camping at this site. Site very secluded nothing in the immediate area except for a golf course but you can't play if you don't have the correct foot wear. We certainly won't be returning.

We have just returned from a 2 night weekend stay at Sand le Mere. The location is lovely and remote, which we liked, but maybe not good if you want explore the surrounding areas. They seem to have spent a lot of money on their reception and entertainment building, which gave a great and reassuring first impression. We were immediately told the toilet block on the tent pitch was out of order, but were directed to others we could use. The tent pitch itself was a little crowded, and we were practically on top of the tent behind us. We made the best of it and managed to squeeze the tent on. The redirected toilet block, which we were told wasn't far, was in fact a good 5 min walk away, so with 4 children needing the facilities at different times, I seemed to be constantly walking to and fro. They were clean on the friday, but come Saturday they were smelly, dirty and hadn't any toilet paper.
The indoor pool was a definite hit with the children. The changing rooms were modern, clean, spacious and most importantly warm! We all used the showers here, as they were infinitely cleaner than the site ones. There was also a small indoor play area, coffee shop and small supplies shop. We couldn't fault these facilities at all. We didn't use the restaurant, bar or evening disco, but heard it loud and clear in our tent til at least 1am.
The biggest drawback of our stay was a large group of campers who spoilt the experience by shouting, swearing and fighting at 4am. They eventually topped it off by racing a car around the camp site drunk. We felt extremely vulnerable in our tent, and the whole site was woken up. The police were eventually called, but didn't make up for how scared we'd all been. The management never came to see if we were all ok, or offer any apology. Needless to say, we won't be making a return here.

A nice site and very popular. The pool and beach were a hit with the grandchildren. We never used the club but we could hear the acts from our van. Parking on the site needs policing cars parked in front of vans made it difficult for people to reverse onto pitches and in some cases getting off as well.
Most vans had two cars parked to a pitch. The serviced pitches are good, but the waste water drains would have been better sited at the rear of the pitch. The toilets and showers are ok but there, s only three of each. They were mostly clean but there were times when they could have done with cleaning more often. But it was due to some of the users rather than a fault of the site. The staff were all very good and polite. This was our second visit and we will certainly be back.

We visited here mayday bank holiday and if I'm being honest it was a gem of a place, our children 6 and 2 years loved it too. We could see where it may fall down at busy times as we were camping and if the allocated pitches were full it would have been a little crammed for our liking and there is only one toilet block with three toilets and three showers, these were clean all times I visited. The kids clubs seemed well run with activities all day long, the swimming pool was great and clean if not a little cold for the youngest but the eldest had no issues. The evening activities for kids seemed everything you would expect also, cabaret both nights was professional. The short cut path from the camping field to the main complex was one drawback as it had some small steps and was loose gravel, not ideal with a buggy but that said could not fault any other walkways on the park. Overall we enjoyed our stay, it had a nice feel about it for a large park, drinks pretty fair priced, food fair priced and not bad. Would go back certainly!

Just returned from Easter and on the whole we were quite impressed! Obviously they have spent a lot of money on the place and it makes a very good leisure complex. Kids entertainment was the usual stuff but both nights the star turns that were advertised were replaced by mediocre acts so we didn't stay long. Unfortunately we were able to listen to it till after midnight whilst lying in bed!
Toilet block and pot wash for tourers has an inadequate number of showers, toilets and sinks (I think the one in the tent field is being replaced) so is in constant use making cleanliness, loo roll and hot water a lottery!
Bar prices standard, food looked good but we didn't try it. It's advisable to ask for tickets for swimming as it is popular and this guarantees your places. Pool clean but cold and scarce baby changing facilities.
Shop poor and pricey, Aldi in Withensea only 10mins away.
A pull-in for tourers at reception and a more accessible water waste disposal would make it even better for tourers.
The Bengal Lancer in Withensea recommended for good curry!
All in all would go back.

Spent 4 nights here in August 2013, 3 families. Site was lovely, you can see they have spent a lot of money on improving the facilities, that is apart from the camping facilities. Ground was like concrete (not their fault) so ensure you take some good strong pegs as the small ones were of just no use. Showering / Toilet facilities were probably the main thing which let this site down, there is a block in a portacabin (nice and modern) however they seem to flood all the time. You are best using the wooden hut which is by the touring field. Pool was fantastic, kids loved it, entertainment was the usual holiday camp type but a good sized room. All in all a great holiday, just a shame about the showers / toilets.

Just arrived home from 4 night break in Sands le Mere, was concerned initially as the tent field appeared crowded and I am not used to that, I like my space. On arrival discovered hubby had not packed the tent pegs so had to go and find some in nearby Withernsea, luckily found a hardware store but cost me 8 quid for 20 pegs, also had no mallet but managed to borrow one. Once set up I felt a bit better about the site but there was a massive storm just as we got the last peg in! Thunder and Lightning and massive hailstones. Was fun to watch but a little worrying also. The toilet block on the field had no loo paper for the 1st day but luckily we had our own, just embarrassing walking down the field with a loo roll in hand!. For the amount of people they were clean enough. We were lucky with the weather once the storm had passed it was hot and lovely, great feeling to sit outside tent with a brew early on and watch the world go by.
Didn't use the pool so cannot comment but other campers told us it was great. The shop was quite poor, no cooking oil, no bags to carry shopping in and no passes for the leisure centre as they had run out! Not major issues just little niggles. The beach was a 5 minute walk away and was lovely, the weather was hot but a nice breeze on the beach which was needed. There was a lot of Police presence and a woman was arrested from one of the statics, there are some statics next to the tent field, but overall no problems. We are early to bed but the noise at night was not really disturbing, it seemed to bate off at a reasonable time, woken up 4 times by tent nooky noise, I am just jealous!
Overall we had a nice break, if it was nearer to me I would go again but at 3 hours journey could find somewhere nearer. The price was good though at 84. 00 for 4 nights with electric. Nice site and worth the money, lovely fishing lake also and some nice ponds full of ducks and ducklings. Most people were friendly but as always you get the odd ones who are completely hemmed in with wind breaks.
