Reception staff very friendly and helpful.
New complex is fantastic.
The Pool and Life guards who run all the pool activities are excellent
The entertainments staff are very good and work hard
This site has a lot of potential. BUT.
On arrival at our pitch we found that due to the free for all and no rules or regulations that we could not reverse or manoeuvre the caravan onto the pitch and had to manually handle it into position. This was due to the amount of vehicles parked. This included one pitch having two cars two motor cycles and jet ski on its trailer. The regular one car per pitch rules didn't apply. The pitch was average size, caravan and awning fitted snuggly with (1) car parked across the front no problem.
Site itself was clean an tidy, but again for the minority of pitches with several gas canisters, disused bbqs, small tents and items left around insecure.
The evening entertainment for the children was v. good enjoyed by my two little ones 6 and 8 this finished around 2130. The short walk back to our caravan was well lit. I was surprised to find the security gate that was fitted didn't work. This allowed free access to the whole site. We found the noise from the entertainment complex was a little intrusive and continued well after midnight we had a pitch furthest from the complex thankfully, some were literally next to it and I don't know how they copped with the noise. Due to the lack of a security gate we found cars turned up late at night and noisy gatherings into the early hours were the norm. People appeared to just turn up and stay the night at will. I find this strange as the site must be loosing out on revenue as you paid for the pitch and not the people this answered the question of tents at the rear of caravans, this just exacerbated the problem with vehicles causing obstructions. There appeared no security to monitor this. But again no rules were enforced or apparent. To add to the noise we found people had brought pets with them, not the regular dogs but large parrots the squawking adding to the noise problem.
The beach was a short walk away from the touring pitches and was v. Good and never crowded. The showers and toilet block were adequate, clean and tidy.
As previously mentioned this site has so much potential if it had a few rules enforced.

Upon arrival the sea mist had rolled in. This is our 3rd time camping. We were not disappointed we pitched up and had wander around the park. The park is lovely and everyone is friendly. The entertainment complex is great and my daughter found George I think his name is George very funny on stage. The swimming pool is great with sauna and steam room for the adults. The only negative comment to make is that there needs to be someone to clean the changing rooms on a regular basis to remove excess water off the floor. The toilet and shower blocks are fine and are cleaned twice a day. Will return back.

We went here for a weekend away. The site is ideal for families with plenty for the children to do around the site with the added bonus of the swimming pool, being relatively close to the beach and having a play area. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the food served in the main bar was fine. Showers and toilets all fine for the touring pitches.
Because our motorhome is a bit long we had a pitch on the touring site which was next to the area for the tents and directly above the children's play area, which meant it was a bit noisy. As we arrived late and only there for 2 nights it was not worth asking to move.
Great site for families, not right if you are a couple looking for a quiet weekend away.

This is second time we have visited this site the last time was August 2012. As I stated in my previous review the facilities are immaculate but one big let down this time. The noise from the clubhouse was booming out until 1 o'clock in the morning making it impossible to sleep. We did not have any problems with this on our last visit. Apart from this we found the campsite very noisy. Also all the rubbish bins were overflowing and needed emptying. Considering all the expense on improvements a bit of cash should have been spent on sound proofing the clubhouse.

On arrival we decided to go to the shop shouldnt have bothered about 30 items on shelf and no one there to serve anyway. Staff were excellent friendly and helpful. Went to get something to eat from cafe ordered two all day breakfasts was there in four minutes as it took 3 in the microwave, didn't eat it. Nowhere to buy swimming costume from but has a swimming pool, nowhere to buy fresh produce etc, shop doesn't open till 9am. No plug for hairdryers in washroom but had a low budget hair dryer fixed to the wall. Very hard to see where the 4 million has been spent, think the managment need to take a touring caravan to the park they might realise they have got it wrong. If you like fishing I think its ok but nothing more than that to do.

Our second visit to this site, last visit was before the new complex was added.
After a mix up with the booking we found we were not on the standard touring pitch but the tent pitch (on a bank holiday weekend everything was fully booked with no room for the caravan), staff were fantastic at finding an alternative site, which happened to be in the static caravan area. 10 out of 10 for this.
Touring facilities were good, although at peak times the showers were busy and sometimes you had to wait. My only gripe on this was more due to the people using the shower block, leaving it untidy and dirty, children pushing the toilet roll back through the holes so you couldn't use it! Perhaps extra cleaning should have been in place?
Swimming pool on site was handy, gave the children some freedom as they could play whilst we watched close by.
I echo another persons observation on the security gate - this was never closed during our weeks stay.
Also, an oversight on the entrance to the site, there is nowhere to park the caravan and car whilst you book in and get your pitch details, either park by the side of the road, or, as we did, go further up the road near the security gate then walk back to reception ( there more room there).
Overall a good holiday with excellent staff.

We spent a week here with 4 children aged 10, 7, 5 and 3 months. Its a nice site.
Has an entertainment complex with bar/club room, reasturant serving reasonably priced food.
Arcade, shop, a small soft play area for kids, coffee shop and swimming pool.
There was entertainment on each night with kids party dances, quizes and cabarae shows.
There is a kids play area and crazy golf too.
The swimming pool has a good children's pool with slide, unfortinalty the water sprinklers wernt working but that didn't stop our children enjoying it, the pool was even warm enough for our 3 month old baby too.
The touring field wasn't to bad either, the pitchs are hard standing so take some heavey duty awning pegs.
The shower facilities are suitable with the showers giving out quite hot water.
Whiternsea is only a few miles up the road, its a nice little sea side town with shops, pubs and cafes.
The beach was nice and clean too.
We were very pleased with the site and will return again.

Just got back from a long weekend at sand le mere. We actually booked an extra night while we were here. Thoroughly enjoyed it will be going again. Very clean. Every tent pitch has electric if you want it and massive pitches all pretty level. The complex was great clean and new. Didn't have any meals there but there seemed to be a lot eating in, staff were friendly always asking if everything was ok. There is a big fishing lake with some big Carp in. While we were there we saw a 15LB a 9lb and a 7lb there was a fishing match on. The only downside to this there wasn't a toilet on the tent field but there was one a 5 minute walk away, but we made do with a bucket during night it didn't put us off. Not far from withernsea hornsea or Bridlington. Overall a nice campsite, every one was friendly, will be going again

Just returned from a long weekend at Sand le Mere. Apparently they have just spent a lot of money on improvements and, to be fair, it all looked very nice, on the surface, but the entertainment was not of a very high standard and the tables and chairs in the cabaret room looked like they had been bought for a school canteen (very uncomfortable). We are a more mature couple, without young children, and if we did not go to the room early on we could not get a table.
We also thought that the security was a bit lax. We were given a security/barrier card and told we would need it wherever we went but in truth, the only time we used it was when we went to the bar. There was no security on the doors of the entertainment complex and we never once saw the barrier down, so anyone could have driven out with one of the vans.
The other downside was that the shortcut from the touring/camping fields to the entertainment complex was unlit. You had to walk across the dark corner of a field and down a sloping path made out of small stones. One night I tripped over a wooden border when going back up the path and nearly went sprawling. My husband reported this to Reception.
The day before we left we had a problem with the sockets in the van and asked on Reception if they had anyone who could help. The warden called but once he realised that the power going in to the van was working did not offer any assistance. He said he had spoken with his maintenance men but they had not offered any suggestions. I pity anyone in the statics with a similar problem if maintenance had no bright ideas.
Not a lot to do 'off-site' as it is fairly remote, so don't think we would stay there again.

Took our recently purchased pennine pathfinder to this site to try it out for the first time. The site has a small field for caravans, trailer tents and motorhomes and a small field for tents. Most pitches have electric. The pitches for caravans, trailer tents are mainly gravelled hardstanding and some grass. Pitches are a good size with space for an awning(extra charge for that) and space to park. The complex is new this year with pool, shop, showbar, cafe and gym. The pool had a soft floor to it and is a good size, the kids pool has a small slide/climbing frame in it.
