Only stayed for one night as we were on a whistle-stop tour, but found the staff friendly and helpful, and a lovely level, generous pitch.

We didn't use the toilet facilities as we have our own on-board, but did look in and they were clean and well kept.

Not a lot to do 'off-site' as it is fairly remote, so don't think we could stay there for a week, as we like going for walks, not clubbing or swimming.

We did however walk into the village and saw a beautiful little church which was well worth the walk.

If you like all the facilities on site then this would be ideal to stay at, but. Sadly, not for us.

I was a little apprehensive about our stay having read reviews on trip advisor as only 4 on here but we spent 4 great nights at Sand le Mere. We had electric hook up and all pitches seemed to be quite level(all new).

It is going through a lot of changes which will be great when finished, the works did not bother us at all our children aged 4 and 2 enjoyed watching them.

The facilities, the pool and bar etc does need updating but were fine for our stay and our children loved the kids disco. I was surprised at the amount of entertainment that went on through the day. The toilets and showers were fine not 5 star they were warm and never had to queue.

The only downside was that there was only 2 washing up sinks for the touring, but saying that I never had to queue but I feel that they would benefit from a few more. (probably being addressed in the renovations)

The beach is so close and great for fossil hunting we found some beauties. Yes there were bits of rubbish at the top of the beach but there is plenty of beach to go at and nobody else on it so it did not bother us. The sight is surrounded by fields so our children loved watching all the tractors and combines working.

Withernsea and Hornsea are very quiet but again enough for us to make a day out of it. It is also very close to Hull so we did make a trip to the Deep which was great and to Spurn point which would have been a really lovely walk, but our children are a little young to walk the 3 miles, but you can drive down to the lighthouse.

All in all a great stay and great value for money would definitely go again.

 We won't be returning.

We arrived on 1st August unaware that this was the first day they were opening their 'tent field'. The field allocated is far from flat (it stayed dry so can't comment on drainage etc but imagine it wouldn't be fun) Every pitch has electric whether you need it or not and we just found it a strange set up it could have been much better thought out.

They are undergoing big works ie spending millions moving the very rundown clubhouse but this is right next to the tent field which we weren't informed of so the sound and view were spoiled even though they didn't start while 9am it wasn't peaceful.

And the toilets. Too far for the children to go alone and filthy dirty and no ventilation so they were always damp as they are in with the only 3 maybe 4 shower cubicles. 3 times I went to reception to ask them to clean them as although you don't expect 4* you at least want to smell a bit of bleach. One day the mens had vomit on the floor from 7am until at least 3pm that afternoon.

On a positive not the outdoor pool was fine but we had the weather although the jacuzzi was out of order.

The beach is about a 10 min walk but covered in litter as there were no bins.

We did visit Spurn Head about 20 miles south which was a beautiful beach but a long slow drive away.

We visited this site just before renovations are going to be done. The camping site was quite small and a distance away from the toilet block, the toilet and shower facilities are nice and clean and plentiful.

Unfortunately the weather was against us the week we were there so we didn't get the chance to try out the park nor the outdoor swimming pool. Apart from a walk on the beach there wasn't much to do if you were on a budget, there was amusements and such but as stated at a cost!

I would return to the site to see how the upcoming renovations have made a difference as it sounds as though they have a lot of plans for improvements

Arrived on site and there are 2 touring areas, area nearest the main entrance is poor, the main one is fine, no problem.

The campsite was great in my opinion, and I really enjoyed the pool more than anything else, I have kids who like to swim and the pool was never over busy, it was warm enough, and I never itched, which I normally do with chlorine, so I spent hours in the pool, even in the rain, and my kids loved it. Nearby there is a steam room that was also great, clean, free, not busy. There were trampolines, bouncy castle, table tennis tables, free, never busy. The bar was good, food was cheap

It was simply a good honest campsite.

Just finished a week at this gem of a site, says 50 pitches on uk campsite yet there are 18 touring pitches available, the other touring field by reception holds 7 caravans and they are season pitches. 5 hard standing pitches available

Site is falling into the sea at the front so reception has now moved to the back, had to come in a different way, ended up having to unhitch caravan and do a 180 turn as road is now blocked.

Mainly a static site & looks like they are spending big money on it, loads of empty static spaces, lots of new development in the log cabin market, I have been told they are spending 12 million on a whole new complex that will include indoor / outdoor pools, sports facilities and clubhouse, started work on that now, will be great when its complete

Facilities are clean, hot showers available, you do have a small hike from touring field to toilet block were you get your water, if you have a bad back you will struggle emptying your grey waste as you have to lift it into a normal toilet, same with your elsan.

Outdoor pool is nice & arcades on site quite cheap. Beach 5 min walk. Would go again as it was only £20 a night to stay which is great value. When its fully updated that will probably fall in line with haven sites and jump 300% during holidays. All in a very nice holiday.

We stayed there for a month last year and found the place to be very well run. Friendly staff and clean facilities. The pool is fantastic and the kids loved it. My only gripe is the toilets are a walk from the touring field which can get a bit boggy in wet weather take your wellies. We have booked for the season this year and would highly recommend it. Very reasonable

Went to this site which really is on the coast, infact in three years time the clubhouse won,t be there, and that apparently is part of the reason they are moving it all back to land they have bought to the rear of the site.
The site is mainly statics with the touring area to the back of the site, all grass with a grass centre field which was also used for camping on.
The site had a clubhouse with bingo, turns, barfood, all at reasonable prices.

Not a bad site, within walking distance of Withernsea, along the coast, there being nothing in Tunstall village barring a church. The only gripe we found was no water on the camping area, the tap being outside the toilet block, which in itself was not a problem , but it meant that you blocked the road, which caused a bit of bother for the statics who couldn't understand that we fill up our tanks and don't use an aquaroll. Barring that, the staff were pleasant, it's off the main road with no public transport but would call again, but fill up before we get there !
