Nice site, relatively level pitches that are well serviced and maintained.
There is a good dog walking area through some woodland.
The site has a small shop with limited stock, but keenly priced with croissants and newspapers available. There is 1 pub within easy walking distance of the site, otherwise you need to drive to the nearby town of Romsey.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Pitch prices a little cheaper than the chain running many of the New Forest sites a few miles away.
All the main pitches are serviced with electric and water. Overflow tent pitches where placed on the sites pitch and put area. All in all a good site.

We have just had 4 mights at this site and it was our first time camping as a family with a dog. Never knowing what to expect this exceeded what we expected, the site itself had tents and caravans the pitch size was large enough as there was areas for the children to play and a forest walk for you to take with the dog.
A large fenced in playing area was ideal for the children. The showers were clean with plenty of room a separate cubicle to shower and change. As were the toilets always well stocked. An area for you to wash and dry your laundry.
A small shop on site for those last minute forgotton items.A friendly atmosphere and somewhere to relax. The area is lovely with walks through the New Forest or travel a short distance to the beach. All in all a very pleasant stay and will certainly be returning.

Sadly not a great experience at this campsite, a campsite as large as this that only accepts cash, makes me worried. We only made one special request when booking, and that was to have two pitches together. This was confirmed over the phone with two people on two separate occasions.
Despite this on arrival they claimed they knew nothing about it, and rather than accepting the fault and just sorting it out, they continued to make up excuses about how it could have happened and say there was nothing they could do. We spent the first night on separated pitches, and shortly after the confusion, we were told the following day we could move to adjoining sites, which was a welcome relief. Still an apology from them would have gone down well, but still waiting for that!
That was day one, on day two we received a bill of over two hundred and ten pounds for only one night, we don't mind paying extra for a good pitch but this is the highest we have been asked to pay so far. Again rather than accepting the mistake they spent a good ten mins trying to justify its accuracy. From that moment on I refused to visit the reception/ shop, and left it to much braver members of our party.
Speaking to others on the campsite we were not the only ones to have been placed on an incorrect pitch, and we heard a couple of people say they could run the site better.
Having said this, the site itself at least the gravel side we were on was pleasant enough, never seen vans packed in quite as they were nose to tail and side by side on the centre pitches, although I guess some of these were seasonal pitches. The way the pitches were positioned so close together meant everyone had to park their cars infront of their outfits, which was right on the side of the narrow road that lead around the campsite. That was a major problem when we came to leave as it took us 20mins of moving back and forth to get the van through the tiny gaps between cars, often we were mm at each side of the van. Then after the final barrier, the warden nearly always parked his car under the sign that said NO Parking here at any time which meant you cant drive forward far enough before you turn to get out of the site. My advice dont take a twin axle van anywhere near this place.
The showers were clean and pretty good considering, except on the first night there was no shower head in one of the cubicles, that aside the showers are reasonably strong, and good hot water, although water temp can not be varied. No soap trays or hooks for shower gel in the shower itself, but chair and mats were supplied. I would say that the facilities whilst on the site were pretty good, but the major issue on arrival, coupled with their lack of ability to understand the problem, followed by panick for the whole week that we would never get the van back out of the campsite, its unlikely to be a place we will return or even recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights here and were impressed with how clean and well maintained the site was.
Showers and toilets were spotless and warm. Especially impressed with the showers, 6 separate rooms with plenty of space to get changed and to shower separately. Handy when two children want to jump in as well.
Brambles Cafe was a nice bonus, if not a little pricey.
We stayed in the area with electric hook-ups and it was a little cramped. We would return but on the 2nd camping field as it looked a little more spacious.
We didnt explore the immediate area but saw a few nice looking pubs nearby. Handy site if you want to explore the new forest.

We have just come back from a lovely weekend away at hill farm, it is such a lovely site its very clean the showers were lovely and powerful
The wardens were very friendly and helped us out loads thank you. The children loved the play area as we were pitched up right next to it, we rarely saw the children, which was nice as you could relax and also keep an eye on them at the same time
Didn't use the tea room there but it seemed lovely. We have booked up to go back bank holiday so def will be using the site again

Lovely site, very quiet and peaceful - went to sleep with the noise of owls and woke up to cuckoo's and various other twitterings!
Each pitch is marked out with white lines and we had plenty of room for our car and 'supertent'.
Staff very friendly and helpful - wardens patrolled late at night to ensure noise was kept to a minimum.
Facilities very clean - toilet/shower blocks were heated so lovely and warm on a chilly morning.
Great play area for the little ones but nothing for older kids. WiFi available so my daughter still had access to Facebook!
Great site for a relaxing, away from it all break.

The pitches were crammed together and sloping in the tented area. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and modern but may not be adequate at the height of the season.
The play area was set between the tents and the pitch and put and has not facilities in it. This also closes at 7.30pm due to issues with neighbouring properties and so this site is not suitable for children that want to go and play on their own away from their parents.
The site is conveniently situated for the attractions within the New Forest, however I have been to other sites in the area before and would return to using them in the future.

Nice site this one, but I do agree with the pack them in remarks. We were ok as we were on a hard standing pitch but it looked a bit cramped on the Tent pitches. The Play field is good but has nothing in it even just a football goal or a volleyball net would be good. The play area is good but it states for the under 10's and the equipment in it wouldn't be suited for anyone older anyway. The shop is quite well stocked and was open for most of the time we were there. We tried the takeaway on the Friday night, it is only a small choice but a plenty big enough selection as this isn't a holiday camp site. There is £10 to pay on arrival for the entry barrier and please note they don't take cards at all. They are building a new dining area when we were there and it looks like it should be finished for Summer '09. There were tents pitched on the par 3 golf course which seemed odd and I don't know if this effected playing. Oh! the overhead pylon is hardly worth mentioning why someone wouldn't go is beyond me we were pitched at the base of it and I didn't really notice it.
It has 2 toilet blocks but I only used 1 it has 3 traps 2 troughs and 4 sinks in the gents and the showers were the best I've used on site there are 6 individual rooms with a nice sized changing area. The showers themselves were not the evil push button type and when I used them although you couldn't change the temperature it was spot on.
This is a great little site and the owners and other staff we found to be top notch even though it was the very busy Whitsun weekend. We are very likely to return.

Stayed at this campsite for a long weekend. The owners were very friendly. We found the pitch to be an ok size. Toilets were clean and spacious and the showers had plenty of hot water.
Very quiet, we could hear cows mooing in the day and owls hooting in the evening. There is a small pitch and putt area, children's play area and a small area you can sit and have a coffee. The shop also has a small catering outlet doing breakfasts etc. Shop was well stocked. They also had books and games to hire for a £1 deposit.
There are two areas for caravans/tents and we were in the section by the chickens. Unfortunately our van was right up next to the chickens and we saw quite a few rats running around the chicken coop! All in all an ok site, I would say a little overpriced for what you get. Location is good for exploring Romsey, Southampton and the New Forest.

Just spent the one night here on what was their final weekend of opening for the 2008 season, the weather was as good as to be expected for the end of October and so there were still a few campers dotted about.
The site is split into two, an area where caravans are quite tightly packed in, it looked like some were residents/regulars and the side we were pitched in which was much more open and spacious, and yes there were large electric pylons, but I think I only noticed them because of reviews I’d read before going.
Although offered a hard standing pitch, we risked a grass pitch as it was more private, not particularly level, but chocks sorted that out. Facilities were excellent, clean and warm, the shop was running a little low on stocks and the café closed, but hey it was the last weekend and despite the owner being obviously riddled with flu he was polite and friendly.
Word of warning, and it has nothing to do with the site, we attempted to walk into Romsey across the fields, it got dark, we got lost, my mate ended waist deep in a river, we had to beg a farmer to drive us back to the campsite, a very funny if wet and cold incident, we shall return to the site in 2009 if just to complete the walk, in daylight!
