We went here for the weekend to try our our new trailer tent. This site is very good. Clean and tidy. Toilet blocks spotless and lovely and warm. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. They had got our booking wrong and although they couldn't put us on our original pitch that we had requested the pitch we ended up on was fine. We were opposite a large group of teenagers who had a petrol generator to charge their mobiles - the wardens quickly told them they couldn't use it! The only downsides here were not being able to play games outside your tent - although they do have a large recreation field for this - however I have a younger daughter who I need to keep in sight. The other which I do feel very strongly about is the trampoline does not have a safety net around it - I feel this is an accident waiting to happen and I wouldn't let my children go on it. Other than that great site and would recommend! Rating by me 9/10

August 2005 Myself, my husband and kids (12,4 and 2) had a very enjoyable stay here. The kids area was good and we could see it from our pitch on the other side of the tent field with no problem.
The toilets and showers were very clean. The shower block is unisex and there were 6 showers in the block nearest the tent field. They were a good size and there was lots of hot water. There was a bit of a queue though if you arrived later in the morning.
The site has a separate field for ball sports. It also contains pitch and putt - my son enjoyed this.
Good shop with food and camping accessories.
There is a pylon in the tent field but I wasn't worried at all about the children going near it as they couldn't get to it at all.
We needed a large pitch for a four-man tent.

July 2005 The facilities on this site are good with clean showers, toilets etc. and the staff were pleasant and helpful. However, the way in which the site is crammed with tents made the overall experience dreadful and I will not return. I have never seen so many tents in a field, with only a car's width between the lines of pitches. This spoils what could be an excellent site.

September 2004 This site has some good points :- nice showers and toilet facilities which were always clean and the barrier at the entrance is a good idea. However it also has several bad points. The worst thing was the size of the pitches. We have a sunncamp Grange which barely fitted on our pitch ( our guy ropes were on the neighbouring pitch - fortunately the pitch next door was unoccupied!!) we also had to park the car at the front of our tent, which was ok until the people in the tent opposite tried to park their car as well. The pitch we were on was in a corner and there was only a car width between our pitch and the pitch opposite. Our understamding is that there should be a minimum of 20ft between each pitch for obvious safety reasons (in case of fire etc.)This could be a great site if only they didnt try to pack so many units in!!

July 2004 Since we have been on the site some 20 years ago, yes, it has changed quite considerabely. Now the facilities are spotless, the site itself is niclely arranged and yes sometimes it is a bit full. On the other hand we utilises the site as a base to visit friends at Awbridge and for trips to Salisbury, Winchester, Romsey etc. it is a good base to do so. Prices are somewhat high but still in range. The shop is quite ok. Some pitches are hard to get onto with bigger caravans. Other than that we liked the place.

July 2004 The site was easy to find, and seemed well located for exploring the New Forest and surrounding area. Why, oh why did no one mention the huge elctricity pylon smack bang in the tent field.... Not pleasant, right next to the kids play area. If we'd known we would not have booked especially as we have 4 children and another on the way. Although I do have to say the site itself had excellent toilet, showers and washing up area, we never had to queue and hot water was aplenty.
The play areas were good, although I disagree with being able to see from all parts of the site, we were at the opposite end of the tent field and would have had serious problems keeping an eye on all four of our children. The trampolines were a big hit, but are unsupervised, there are safety notices but most kids ignored the three only rule...
Our supertent pitch was just big enough for our tent, a Wynnster Mercury 9, and we did slighty overlap the other pitches. But we did manage to park the Galaxy on the pitch too. The day we arrived we felt very on top of everyone else, but as the week progressed it did empty out a bit. The staff were helpful but I was disappointed with the supposed well-stocked shop, not a lot of stuff. We ate takeaway one night and that was okay and the portions were a good size.

6th July 2004 We visited this site after reading the recommadations on forum. We found it to be a lovely site, It seemed to have new facilities i.e. toilets, showers, washing up sinks and laundry room. Everywhere was kept spotless clean. There is a very good play area for children, also a well stocked shop and a small cafe area at the back. The pitch we had was very good, but I think it was normaly used for tents. But as we had broken our back steadies we needed a flat pitch. The site itself is situated in a lovely area for touring. It is not far from the New Forest and Romsay, Winchester are not far away. The Manager and his wife where very helpful and so were some of the staff we spoke to. We wished we could have stayed a longer.

June 2004 Just returned from a lovely weekend at this site. This site has a nice peaceful feel about it, although it wasn't full this weekend so it might be a bit different in the height of the holidays. We had a 'supertents' pitch with hook up which we needed as we have a Khyam Frontier. A number of the clearly marked pitches are much smaller, so it's worthwhile giving your tent dimensions if you have a larger tent. Play area is good with two large trampolines which were a big hit with our 4 and 7 year olds and could be seen from every pitch in main camping field I believe. Facilities nice and clean and shop quite well stocked. There is a separate spacious area for ball games including a volleyball net and football goal which is great for kids. Next time we'll get round to trying out the pitch and putt!
I was recommended this site and I will certainly in turn recommend it to others. We will definately go back.

Summer 2003 We really enjoyed our stay on this site. Great place for the kids as they were able to ride their bikes around the site as it was safe and did not disturb other campers. Good play area which is never far away wherever you are pitched. Would like to return especially reading the reviews from this year saying how well it has been updated. Very helpful and accomodating and the shower and washing facilities were very good.

Apr 2004 Very good site. Good playground for the kids. Our particular pitch (which was a premium one) was on quite a slope and our levelling blocks were only just adequate with the camper perched at the top of the blocks.
Would definitely go back but would ask for a more level site next time.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
