Very well kept site with all hardstandings.
Sam was very welcoming. Good views from most pitches.
Only one toilet and one shower so sometimes have to wait.
Uinea fowl and a tame hedgehog roam around!

A fab welcome from Sam with a good introduction to the site & its facilities.
Our pitch had a great view we saw deer grazing & an eagle soaring above.
Everything was nice & tidy with spotless toilet & shower facilities.
Simply the BEST campsite shower we have ever used.
The site has a central position on the island with easy access to the main routes & the road its situated on makes a great cycle ride.

We were really pleased to stay on this lovely little campsite on Mull. It wasn't always full so there was a feeling of space and peace. Pitches are generous and well set out anyway but its charm is the setting, views, quiet.
There are two main areas for the tourers and an area where the statics are situated so it's not like one of those holiday parks where you're on top of one another and kids running around everywhere. The friendly owner, Sam, said they mainly attract 'older' couples and we hope they don't over-expand as we like it the way it is!
Facilities weren't fully open but are limited anyway. If you're self contained it doesn't matter much and you know about this before you arrive so don't come if you want a big shower/toilet block! Tents are not allowed unless with a van.
Mobile signal and wi-fi was OK and TV reception is available but we don't need that so can't comment. Not sure about child friendliness - it's in the middle of nature, has an unfenced pond and no play area.
It's 10 mins drive to Salen (Spar, Bakery Cafe) and 15 mins drive to Dervaig (try The Piece Box for pies, bread, pastries, seafood). The pub in Dervaig is nice. Am Birlinn restaurant on the road to Calgary Bay serves quality food.

There was nothing at all to dislike.
The views of the surrounding countryside are phenomenal.
I stayed in one the static 4 berth caravan. It was immaculate and had every amenity. Recommended without doubt.
I will be going back and stay on this site.

Our second visit this year. Undoubtedly a stunning and peaceful location, perfect for exploring the whole of this beautiful island.
However, it needs to up its game if it is to keep up with the competition. One loo and one shower is not enough when the site is full.
Also, getting away from it all is one thing, but no mobile phone coverage, no TV signal and no WiFi is not good enough.
We know from our previous visit that even when the purported site WiFi is working, it is not strong enough to reach the pitches, so this time we took along a WiFi signal enhancer - but the system wasn't working at all (for the whole of our stay!). The Internet is essential for researching restaurants, route planning, ferries, contact with elderly relatives - everything.
You can't charge premium prices for a less than premium product.

The site is wonderfully quiet, situated well for all the top half of the island.
The pitches are all flat and power is close.
The toilet and shower and washing up are excellent.
SLIGHT downside. Only one toilet. Mostly it doesn't matter as most people "go" in their caravans (I assume), but occasionally it is a bit of a chore.
I would not hesitate in saying stay here and you will not regret it.

Our booking/arrival experience was exactly the same as Mrs E (see review for July) so maybe the owners need to organise this side of things a little better, but aside from that everything was wonderful and they were very helpful when we met them.
We took pitch 1 which turned out to be an excellent pitch as it had great views and yet was fairly sheltered from the wind. We enjoyed watching the small birds on the feeders, and there was also a buzzard (looking for a snack?) which came down to the fence post a couple of times.
The sea eagle and the deer made appearances at a reasonable distance - my husband spotted a really well antlered stag - but even with no wildlife, this is a great site for relaxing and taking in the views.
Dog walking off site is along roads, but they were quiet enough at this time of year to deploy the long lead, which gave him plenty of scope to sniff around.
Be aware of sheep appearing on the road round any corner at any time!

We can concur with the previous review that it is in a fine location and that the limited facilities were spotless. The views were a treat to wake up to and it was so peaceful. We used it as a base for three days cycling the north west of the island and it was ideal for that.
The Spar shop in nearby Salem was really well stocked and our visit to Tobermory was a delight.
Our only downer was the blocked chemical waste disposal point, which was a real stomach-turner, though Sam did attend to it once notified.
