This is a smallish very quiet site which is sheltered and very well kept. It caters mostly to caravans with a large number of seasonal pitches. The site is gated and has a gravel drive circling the field. Water and power points are at frequent intervals.

The ground is sandy with some stones, pegging was easy. All pitches were closer than the recommended 6m however this was not an issue due to the neighbours being caravans. The owners are friendly and helpful.

There was some distant nighttime noise from trains and either construction or possibly military vehicles but this was not a problem for us. Showers were small and plastic bags are needed to stop your clothes from getting soaked. For me this site loses points due to having to pay 20p every time you need hot water.

I would have happily paid another £2 a night to avoid the inconvenience of having to set aside every 20p coin that passed into my pocket - and 20p does not give enough time to shower meaning a demeaning soggy fumble to feed the blasted meter when the water suddenly stops.

Not a bad site but a little short of camping nirvana.

This is a fantastic site, The Staff made us very welcome, the site is clean and tidy.

The location is great, tucked away so no noise of passing traffic, when going don't follow sat nav as you can not turn the caravan into the site but and have to go down the road and turn around.

From wareham will be back to this site soon

This has got to be the best Caravan site in the whole of Dorset. Jane and her family really care about their guests and will go the extra mile to help.

The site is ideally located in the midst of Purbeck and best placed for The Tank Museum, the coasts and the towns and villages in that part of the world.

The toilet block is clean and the pitch space more than with adequate. The site is quiet except for the odd train which finish early enough.

If you want a good well kept site with friendly hosts then I would recommend a visit.

Came across this little gem of a site by accident, and would like to share. A beautifully well kept, peaceful site, only a few minutes drive from open heathland and countryside, the lovely town of Wareham and the River Frome and a slightly longer trip to some stunning coastline.

We booked in for a week and ended up staying for a fortnight!

The owners are friendly and helpful, the facilities are old but kept spotlessly clean, and if you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, then this is it.

We stayed here as the site we had booked at initially had cancelled us at short notice due to bad weather and water logged ground, so we had to find somewhere in a short space of time.

We were pleased we found this site as although it is not within walking distance of a pub (our usual criteria having a camper van and not wanting to drive off evenings!) it is a well kept site with clean facilities.

The owners are lovely and there is a good vibe at this site. Having stayed at a few sites recently where everyone doesn’t tend to speak to other campers, it was refreshing to stay at a site where everyone was really friendly!

There is no camp shop, but the facilities are kept clean.

The showers and hot water is 20p, and there is a wash up area, and elsan disposal etc. Recycling bins are stored in a shed. The site is level with grassed pitches and a gravel road around the site.

The grass is kept neat & tidy and this is a sheltered site with trimmed hedges/trees – this was appreciated as we were worried that the weather was going to get windy and in fact we were very sheltered.

The site is also open all year, so it is definitely one we would consider returning to.

Popular Choice in this Area

West Fleet Holiday Farm - Weymouth

Set in 15 acres of breathtaking countryside, right next door to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, this site offers stunning views of the Chesil Bank, Fleet Lagoon, and Lyme Bay. Welcoming tents, motorhomes and caravans, this family friendly site offers spacious grass pitches with or without electric. For kids there's an outdoor heated swimming pool, 3 acre playing area including slides, swings and more.

Facilities include toilets, showers, washing up, launderette, and WifI. There is an onsite shop and off-licence. The Bar in the Barn at the site serves a delicious food and offers a variety of entertainment, including live music. As well as the attractions of Weymouth's beach and harbour, this is a great base to explore family attractions throughout South and West Dorset. Find out more here

Just stayed the one night but we were very impressed with the site it was clean and tidy.

Facilities were more than adequate and very friendly people.

We look forward to another visit soon.

The site is within easy reach of the coast and so many other local attractions making it an ideal place to say.

We stayed at this site for one night but were somewhat disappointed.

The site was gated, neat and tidy and the owners were welcoming. However, the pitches are extremely close to each other - less than 10 feet on either side of our van.

The toilet block was clean but basic. The showers were coin operated, with the slot being outside the shower cubicle. The shower cubicle itself had no door, just a curtain.

20p lasted only a couple of mins. There were no lights in the toilet or shower cubicles, just a strip light in the ceiling outside the cubicles making it difficult to see in the cubicles themselves.

There was a small play area for children but this was not fenced.

Family run site well maintained neat& tidy plenty of room between caravans.

No noisy campers owners daughter put my caravan on to pitch for me which was great.

Toilet block inspected and cleaned every two hours. Family live on site so always available.

Other campers where nice no noisy music etc the site attracts nice people Situated of a quite lane site very secure plenty of lights.

We highly recommend this lovely site

Lovely clean, neatly kept site. Well managed with friendly, efficient owner who guides you to your allocated pitch. Mostly caravans and/or retired/OAPs there when we stayed, and only a few families. No big groups or paired up tents, so quiet. It looked like quite a few caravans stayed there all year. No ball games by tents, but there is a small area where children are allowed. Quiet at night. No parties or rowdy people when we stayed, certainly not a party atmosphere. Hedges separate some pitches and a gravel drive around the whole site. Gated as you drive in, so feels secure and organised. Set in countryside and quiet, narrow lanes. Short drive to Wool (has a Spa shop, bakery and pub) - nothing within easy walking distance. 20ps needed for washing up, showers and hairdryers. Yes, as previous visitors have said the toilet block is dated (barn type building, shower curtains) and there are 2 ladies showers for the whole site and 4 loo/sinks hand-dryer and one 20p hairdryer, (I assume it is the same for men) but they are always really clean. Showers are quick - 20p was ok for a brief shower and hairwashing for short hair. We had to queue for showers at 'peak times' (not the loos) but it was holiday season, so this is to be expected? Shower block is quite dimly lit, so recommend taking a torch. Bins for recycling/waste are down by the loos and all kept very clean and extremely organised. This is very much a 'respect the routine' site. Good access for Wareham and Swanage.

We stayed in a Conway trailer tent for 6 nights in early July whilst completing the SW Coast path.

We strongly recommend this small, immaculate family run site, located in quiet countryside about 10 minutes by car west of Wareham.

Although at first glance it might appear quite busy it quickly becomes apparent that the vast majority of the pitches are booked seasonally (and few were in use when we visited). As a casual visitor you are very likely to find that you have peace & quiet, and plenty of space.

The toilet block isn't brand new but the tiled showers are spacious, the water is hot and everything is kept very clean and tidy.

But perhaps the best reason for choosing this site is the incredibly attentive and helpful service provided by the host family. Nothing is too much trouble and you will be made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
