We found David & Gillian a lovely couple who could not have been more helpful if they tried. The campsite is easy to find, clean & tidy & everything that you need.

The weather was awful but the site stayed non water logged.

Time for shower was more than enough, they were hot & powerful & not busy despite campsite been busy for Easter.

The Ship in Wool did good food & beer & has Sky Sports

Just returned from camping at this site with our 5 month old baby. We had never been here before decided to go away short notice on a bank holiday and they had availability and we were very pleased with our choice. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our pitch. She also provided us with maps and pointed out local attractions we could visit. We were able to also order papers which was an added bonus. The facilities (the toilets and showers) were spotless and though you had to put in 20p for the showers it was plenty of time and the water was adjustable and lovely and warm. Like other reviewers I would say this site it is for couples and families as it is quiet at night, not for groups and parties. We really had a great time and we are planning to book for a week next year to visit all the attractions

We stayed on this site for a weekend in August. Admittedly it was during peak season, however I have never before stayed on a site where caravans were parked so close together. Caravans and tents had no privacy. We did not bring an awning and our car was parked to the side we were advised that we could sit behind the caravan, as this was by the water tap with constant coming and going that would be very peaceful I am sure. Caravans with awnings had to park their car in front and there was no room to sit at the front of the awning as that was the main thoroughfare for cars and people. Although the children’s play area was near the entrance there was general shouting and noise from a number of children on site. Yes the showers were clean however 20p runs out very quickly – I have short hair and only just managed to shower in time.

I would like to recommend the Stokeford Arms on the main road. The food is very good, and not expensive (although we were told it was by aforesaid owner!).

Visited Manor Farm for 5 nights. Where greeted by Gill Topp and shown where to park the van. She was most helpful, even allowing us to use her parking permit when visiting Lulworth Cove. Saved a bit on parking fees!
Site is quiet and spotlessly clean. Our boys 12 & 8 soon made friends with other children playing out till nearly dark in a safe envirenment, which was a blessing to us. Daily papers where available and help and advice as to places to visit was just a question away. We will certainly be visiting again.

We have just got back from a weekend at this site. It is a small neatly mown field, around the edge of which are seasonally pitched caravans. The centre part of the field is for touring caravans and tents. The field is open and flat, with a few neatly clipped bushes and hedges. There are 4 toilets and sinks and 2 showers in the ladies and the gents. There are 2 washing up sinks. There is a small childs play area and grassy area for games.

The site is very clean and tidy. The toilets and showers were the cleanest I have ever used. They cost 20p and that is ample for a shower and hair wash (perhaps if you have long or thick hair you would need 40p) The water was always very hot, in the showers and for washing up (which makes a change from washing up in the usual luke warm water at other sites)

Mr and Mrs Topp were extremely welcoming and friendly. They were always about on the site, cleaning and making sure all was up to standard. Mrs Topp did come across as a bit severe at first, but that is just so you realise that she will enforce any site rules, no arguement. After that she was a truely lovely lady.

This is a very quiet, relaxed and friendly site. No groups are allowed, and after about 10.30 the site was quiet. This is not a site for groups or even people who would want to book seperatly but camp together. It is for couples and families looking for a calm and peaceful place to stay.

Overall it was a lovely weekend, my only critism would be the pitches are very small. As the site was only about 1/2 full we were allowed to spread over 2 pitches, it would feel a bit cramped if the site was full. .

Popular Choice in this Area

West Fleet Holiday Farm - Weymouth

Set in 15 acres of breathtaking countryside, right next door to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, this site offers stunning views of the Chesil Bank, Fleet Lagoon, and Lyme Bay. Welcoming tents, motorhomes and caravans, this family friendly site offers spacious grass pitches with or without electric. For kids there's an outdoor heated swimming pool, 3 acre playing area including slides, swings and more.

Facilities include toilets, showers, washing up, launderette, and WifI. There is an onsite shop and off-licence. The Bar in the Barn at the site serves a delicious food and offers a variety of entertainment, including live music. As well as the attractions of Weymouth's beach and harbour, this is a great base to explore family attractions throughout South and West Dorset. Find out more here

Just got back from a relaxing long weekend at this campsite.

A lovely friendly atmosphere and quiet location, despite it being camp bestival weekend.

The facilities are basic but there is everything you need. Toilets and showers are very clean and well maintained. Owners clean the loos at the same time every day and don't let anyone in! obviously far from an ideal situation if you're in a tent and find yourself desparate.

The showers cost 20p and give about 3 mins of water which is fine and there are never any queues.

Unfortunately you have to put one 20p in at a time (tried to put 60p in at one time for a long one and it still only gave 3mins of water!)which does mean stepping out wet and soapy to put another 20p in!

Must say that I didn't find gillian the friendliest of people- often on the prowl, the rules are made very clear, she runs this site like a military camp!

Nearby is wareham which is a really lovely little town with nice places to eat and drink. And obviously there is lulworth cove and durdle door

I would recommend this site to people who just want a simple relaxed holiday and don't mind being bossed around a bit!

Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Manor Farm. Only two of us were camping, my 5 y.O. Son and myself, in our Vango Beta 350.

We were made to feel very welcome from the start in this beautifully clean, well kept and quiet campsite. Most of the pitches seem to be taken by 'regulars' in caravans and many of these were empty, of the other campers that were there, all were welcoming and friendly.

I feel some of the other reviewers comment's about the showers are a little mean, we found our 20p worth to be adequate and best of all the toilet block and washing up facilities were very clean and well looked after, as was the recycling area.

The pitches are flat and the site feels secure, we left on Sunday morning without being 'hassled' to leave quickly like on some more commercial sites.

I know the area fairly well, so know it is ideally situated for the many attractions this part of Dorset offers, be it the seaside resorts of Weymouth and Swanage, or the beauty spots like Lulworth and Durdle Door. It would be a great base camp for some walking along the Purbeck coastal paths.

Looking forward to returning later in the year with our Vango Albany 800 and Grandparents in tow.

Highly recommended.

We arrived, in pouring rain, at this site unplanned as the site we were booked into didn't have hook-up as requested during the booking. The owners are very friendly and we were shown to our pitch and clearly told the boundaries and were told not to cross them!

The whole site is level and the following day all the water was gone. The owner explained they were on gravel so rain was never a problem.

The, male, toilet block has two showers which take 20p for 3ish minutes. The cubicles are small and it is hard not to wet your clothes. There is only a shower-type curtain and the 20p slot is outside the shower. Not ideal but ok. The shower itself is 'ok' but nothing more. There is a disabled toilet but the door is ill fitting ( stiff ) and there is no handle to open it. I'd imagine someone in a wheel chair would have to ask for help.

The dish washing are consists of two sinks and was always clean.

Outside there is a small play area for kids and is very basic.

We didn't use the shop but note previous reviewers indicated it was well stocked.

In my view the owners ethos is to keep the site for families and don't welcome late night or noisy revellers.

Would I visit again, yes I would, and recommend it to people looking for a quiet site.

Our daughter started at a new school a week later than most children and as the summer appeared to have belatedly arrived we booked Manor Farm for the first week in September. It is the first time I have ever camped for a whole week in England and not had a drop of rain. The site was quiet, we had plenty of space for our Lokon Vario 6 (for the 3 of us - we like room to move around)and the pitches are level. As there were only a few tents on the site we could spread out a bit. The site was very clean and well kept and the Tripps were very friendly -Mrs Tripp joined us for a glass of wine on our first evening. The Tripps walk around the site regularly - I view this as good management and is something I appreciate. The other campers and caravanners in attendance (most of the caravans were empty) were also very friendly.

The 20p showers were fine - my wife had time to wash her hair and I got bored waiting for them to stop. The kids play area is very good and the shop had the essentials we needed.

It was our first visit to Purbeck and the area is superb. Our trips included Brownsea Island, Swanage, Durdle Door, Weymouth and Lulworth. Wareham is a few miles down the road and has a supermarket for barbeque supplies including chilled wine and beer.

Very friendly, peaceful, well kept site.  Facilities basic, but clean.

Showers good and hot - but 20p only just gives you enough time to wash and rinse  - be quick!  However - there never seemed to be any queues for the showers - bonus when you are itching to wash off the sand and salt after a day at the seaside.

Would highly recommend this site to anyone wanting to explore the coastal towns of Purbeck.

Owners are very friendly, and run a small but well stocked shop.

Nice little play area for the kids.

Pitches are level (but you are a bit crammed in).  Never the less there is room enough.

We had a great 5 days there and will definitely be back next year.
