Manor farm is a nice quite site the owners were very helpful and kept the whole site very clean and tidy. In my opinion manor farm is a good site which lived up to its reviews. The only downside I could see, was the small pitches which meant you were very close to your neighbours.

You want to experience camping in a sanitised and safe environment then this is the site for you. Camping here is like camping in your Mum or teacher’s back garden. Gillian Topp runs the site with military precision, an iron rod and a pair of rubber gloves. The toilets and showers are clean, the washing up facilities are clean, the rubbish areas are clean, even the ‘working sheep’ are clean! The site is flat; the only stones underfoot are the ones Gillian and David have placed for you to pitch your tent between, the grass is short, tents and caravans are in military lines and not a guy rope appears out of place. This is a great site if you want to visit the local area. I would recommend Blue Pool, Monkey World, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Lulworth Castle, particularly if there’s a jousting show! Not so great if you like to wake up to a superb view or atmospheric panorama; as there isn’t one. There really is no reason for you to stay on site and the rule that you have to leave your pitch by 11:30 on your last day ensures that you can’t - even if you wanted to. You will have to pay 20p for a shower. For men with short hair this seems to be fine, but women and parents beware! One 20p will only last long enough for you to shampoo your hair, or get your child all soaped up before you have to step naked and soapy into the main toilet area in front of everyone to put another 20p in the slot! The hair-dryer costs 20p, although to be honest you’d be better off getting your partner to blow your hair dry, and the clothes spinner costs … yup you guessed it … 20p! However, if you want to go to the toilet, shower or wash your dishes between 12 and 1:30 – think again. The toilet / shower / wash block will be closed for cleaning – no arguments (believe me we tried!). You are encouraged to re-cycle as much as possible which is great, and the shop (when open) will sell you home-made cakes and basic provisions. If you like your camping safe, clean, quiet, flat, run like clockwork, but ultimately dull and boring then this is the site for you. If you want somewhere a bit more welcoming, friendly and fun, try Woodlands Camping Park less than ½ a mile away or Durdle Door Holiday Park right above Durdle Door.

I was glad to say after a very long drive we arrived and was greeted by the owner, who was polite. We were shown to the pitch and given a huge one, the site was very quite, only 3 others on site! The toilets were great and there was two showers on meters (20p) the other half states he had plenty of time with just 20p! There is also recycling cupboard which you are encouraged to do. This site is great for touring Dorset..we went Monkey World, Poole, Weymouth, Lulworth cove and loads of other places. Great site to have as base, not really suited to kids....but as there wasn't any, that was fine. only a small play area, suitable up to about 7yrs old. Owners didn't hassle you and the only other time I spoke to them was to ask for the shop to be unlocked, shop was O.K for basics, would be locked which meant knocking the owners front door to get in! Would recommend top use as a base camp, or if you really want to do nothing its ideal.

We have just returned from a week camping at Manor Farm. We must highlight what a lovely campsite this is. It is beautifully located, quiet and so handy to get to the places of interest and beaches in this area. Facilities are basic but very clean. The owners are very approachable and helpful. We would recommend this site for those wanting a quiet spot from which to explore this lovely area.

July 2005 What an excellent site! Beautifully kept site. Not too big - I could see the playground from our tent so could keep an eye on the children and relax at the same time! The toilet block was spotless, two showers in the ladies on a 20p meter, lots of places to put toiletries, towels, clothes etc and a hairdryer on a 20p meter too. The washing up room had two sinks with plastic bowls provided. There was an outbuilding for rubbish and re-cylcing was encouraged. There was a phone box with a phone book, Yellow pages and a Thomsons directory inside.
The play area had a climbing frame and a wendy house - basic but quite enough to hold the imagination. There was a shop which sold basics and froze ice blocks for a small fee. The owners were excellent! They were on site and on call all day and were really helpful with local information. Gillian even gave me milk from her kitchen one morning as the milkman was late! Had it not been for increasing rainy weather toward the end of the week, our holiday would have been perfect. We will definitely be going back!
