Nice site, well run and in good position for exploring North Devon coast. Coast is accessible from the site via a steep path to Bucks Mills.
Shower and toilet blocks immaculate, and it was nice to find a site with a decent sized dog walking area!
Only thing we found a little offputting was the number of 'don't do this' and 'don't do that' signs - the most bizarre being one saying 'Do not play in here' situated in the backpackers shelter. Apart from that a very pleasant site.

Excellent site, quiet, well run and organised with ample sized, marked out pitches, some with outstanding views. Site reception can supply most of the basics (milk, newspapers etc. ) and there are village shops within just a few miles.
There are 2 toilet/shower blocks, the newer of which is first class. Plenty of hook-ups, water supplies and even a shelter for those in small tents or groups to use during foul weather.
The site is just off the main road (but you can't hear traffic!) so it's a great base to have when exploring North Devon and is close to Clovelly - which is well worth a visit. If you choose, there's a path down to the shore from the site which leads down to the coastal path.
There is a well equipped designated play area and a separate dog-exercising field.

We popped in to check out the Campsite, whilst on holiday at another, and were warmly welcomed by the lady owner who sent us off to have a good look round and choose an electric pitch (plenty of these. )
The site had a good feel to it, with Sea views of the North Devon Coastline. She told us the history of the Farm and how they had chosen and built it up over the years from a derelict site. You can see that plenty of thought and effort has gone into the site.
We found further delights when we arrived and pitched our Folding Camper. Many well thought out ideas as previous reviews have mentioned. A lovely newish clean toilet/shower block. The toilet cubicles had extra soft toilet paper, on two separate toilet roll holders, along with different height mirrors.
Well thought out and nicely worded (some humerous)reminder notices helped to keep the site in order and tidy.
They had a separate Children's Play Field with equipment for different age groups and space for field games, a dog walking field, a recycling area which is next to the bins, and a caravan storage area.
Newspapers can be ordered for next day delivery from the reception, and the Bus Stop is just outside the Campsite, but the buses we used only ran about every two hours.
The sheltered area for small tents was one of the best we've seen, there were pitches on terraces and some secluded pitches to choose from. For wet weather a large shed with seating is provided alongside a table to use your own portable cooker on.
Down from the smaller tents area are the signposted, woodland walks which also lead steeply down onto the beach. If you don't want to walk down through the woods, there is a road that leads down to the rocky/sandy beach and a carpark up at Buck's Mill.
Clovelly is just round the corner from Buck's Mill and is an enjoyable mainly woodland walk. It only looks a short distance away from the beach, but beware it takes at least two hours as the wooded walk meanders inland and back out again several times, the most enjoyable bit was nearing Clovelly and doing a bit of 'Pheasant Spotting'.

A lovely quiet camp site! Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
We were given a choice of pitches and stayed on the bottom burrows - beautiful views! It was furthest from the recreation field and toilet block but still only a 3 minute stroll.
There are washing lines, recycling points, backpackers shelter, ice block freezing, hairdryers. All the little things that are handy when camping.
The toilets and showers were spotless. It's only the second time I've encountered blue Jay clothes left for you to wipe round sinks after you've used them. Genius idea.
Just 10 minutes drive to Bideford and Westward Ho! So if you do want supermarkets, coffee, restaurants and bars it's all there.
A fabulous, friendly and perfect campsite for a family break!

An excellent site. All though the site is directly off the A39 very little traffic can be heard.
The site it'self is divided into smaller sections with some areas for all units and others only suitable for tents. This gives the site a smaller feel and makes it nicer than one big open field. You don't feel you are crowded by other caravans, tents and motorhomes.
All staff very friendly and helpful and at times found some bikes for the children to use and played games with them in the sports field.
No club or swimming pool which helped to make this a quiet and relaxed site.
There is no shop but if you go to reception you can order newspapers, bread and milk for the next day.
A small lending library of books is kept in reception and you can take any book for a book in return or a donation to the charity box.
The new and old toilet blocks were kept immaculate and the disabled facilities are excellent. Good size shower cubicle with seat, a curtain to keep the water in the shower area, a seat to sit whilst you are drying/dressing and plenty of hooks.
The walk from the camp to the beach is very steep and not a good path but you can take the car down from Buck's Cross to the car park and walk the last part on the side of the road. Unfortunately each time we went the tide was in but have been told it is full of rock pools and the sea is safe to swim in.
The site is 10 minutes from ASDA and Bideford and a few minutes further to Westward Ho and Appledore - great fish and chips here.
Loved the site so much we have booked to go again next year.

We booked to stay at Steart Farm due to its proximity to the South West Coast Path and were very pleased we chose this site. This is a quiet site with no club or bar.
There is a new toilet block and an old one – both are kept very clean, and there is washing up facilities at both with plenty of hot water.
We were parked along the Top Burrows, which in our opinion, is probably one of the best pitches on the site with fantastic views across Bideford Bay (we were lucky with the weather!).
Alongside the tent pitches there is a shelter, provided for backpackers/people with small tents to use in bad weather, as ex tent campers we think this is a really nice touch.
There is an Asda a few miles down the road if you need to stock up. There is a footpath down through the woods to Bucks Mills and the coast.
Although the site entrance is on the busy A39, there is access across the road to the old road behind the hedge and a safe walk to the bus stop and post office at Bucks Cross.
We would definitely stay here again.

We were made to feel very welcome indeed, and given an excellent pitch with breathtaking views of the bay.
The walk down through the wood that can be accessed via a footpath from the campsite, to the village of Bucks Mills, is picturesque, and the beach with its derelict lime kiln is worth a visit too. A little further afield is Westward Ho! with its long sandy beach and excellent facilities.
This site is a real haven for walkers and those who enjoy peace and quiet.
An added bonus is the toilet and shower block, which is exceptionally well presented. It is clean and the shower trays are large, plus the showers are powerful and hot, with plenty of water on demand, rather than a limited stop/start button, as in some campsite showers.
The fresh flowers and dressing table area with tissues for making up are a lovely additional touch! These are better than many hotel toilets we have seen.
There are beautiful views of the bay from the campsite itself and the bad-weather shelter for backpackers is a very thoughtful provision.
It was great to be able to order papers and milk for Sunday morning. In all, we would recommend Steart Farm very highly and we will definitely be returning soon.

Fabulous views from this well organised site. The walking is great but be warned - quite hilly! The walk down to the sea front through the woods is excellent, and there is a lovely 'beach' - a bit of sand, mostly rock though, but the sea is very pleasant indeed, get the children a net and a bucket and see what they catch - genuinely people were getting nets full of whitebait and prawns. We did the coastal walk to Clovelly - not for the faint hearted, it felt longer than the advertised 5 1/2 miles! Clovelly ok, but we coincided with the coach trips and people in 4x4s wearing immaculate walking boots so a bit busy.
Facilities were very clean.
There is a fabulous butchers - Bartons in the local garden centre - ask the owners for directions, and you can avoid walking along the main road to the shop by using the old road which runs parallel. The only negative (depending upon your perspective) was a the owner who would walk around during the evening asking people to put dogs on leads and telling children to be quiet!

Peaceful, serene and tranquil are the best way to sum up this site, but you could easily add to that beautiful, simple and friendly.
We arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon having spent three nights at a busy surfer’s campsite, just shopped for an hour in ADSA and then negotiated some heavy traffic, so what a pleasure it was to arrive, pull out the deck chairs and relax and chill out for a couple of hours, it’s what it’s all about at this site.
The site is split into a number of different fields on different levels so while at your pitch your feel wonderfully isolated and that this is a small site. The pitches themselves are pretty much level, large enough and some have EHU. From the higher part of the site the views are great looking out over Bideford Bay, we didn’t have quite the views, but we looked out upon trees that seemed to float down the hill.
The facilities are alright, there is a very old, but perfectly clean smaller toilet block and there is also a slightly larger newer one with dishwashing facilities, both were a long way from our pitch, but as I thought we had the best seat in the house I didn’t mind too much. Apart from a local information room and a playing area there wasn’t much else, but I believe for a small fee you can use some facilities at a nearby holiday park.
The immediate surrounding area is also lacking in facilities. There is a small shop in Buck’s Mill but avoid walking along the main road, it was a bit hairy, but if you want the bus then you have little choice and unfortunately there is no pub within walking distance either. Clovelly is the obvious local attraction and is worth a visit if you like quaint little villages and touristy shops, OK but for me not a full day out.
So summing up, this site is great if you’re happy just chilling and relaxing and if you can come fully stocked or don’t mind a bit of driving.

The weather was awful and you would expect that due to this, the toilet and shower facilities would get dirty very quickly. Not so, the facilities were spotless whenever we needed to use them.
We didn't get to see much of the campsite as we were constantly out visiting other places and when we were on the site, it was raining too hard for us to be able to have a look around.
The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely look at going there again, maybe for a bit longer next time.
