This site was much cheaper than others in the area - we paid £11.70 per night for 4 people. The site would probably have been fine if the weather had been! Unfortunately we arrived in torrential rain to a site which was already very waterlogged, and the roads around the site were largely just dirt tracks. Consequently extremely muddy everywhere, much of which drained into the Bottom Burrows where we were. There was mud under our groundsheet about 1 ins thick, which eventually smelled of manure! The new toilet block was generally clean but 5 mins walk away - not pleasant in so much mud, especially at night! No external lighting either, except near the upper water point & toilet blocks, so torches or lamps were essential at night. So were wellies!

Lovely site, and from our pitch fabulous views over the sea. Facilities excellent, never had to queue and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our children didn't really use the recreation field as it was not anywhere near our pitch and it was not really the weather for it but it looked fine! The walk to the rocky beach is very steep and a bit of a step but for us worth it. The beach is shingle/rocks.Good rock pooling, probably not as good for body boarding.
Extremely muddy when we were there. There had been, and was whilst we were staying, a lot of rain so take your wellies if you're going in the next week!

Fantastic site. First time camping, and loved it. Had a beautiful view of the sea as we opened our tent in the morning, showers and toilets were fantastically clean. The campsite was almost full, but was still quiet with plenty of room. Owners were really friendly. This is a really cheap place to go, but brilliant value for money. Would most definitely go again.

The lane going into the site itself is quite a bumpy lane, so be warned. The staff were very helpful indeed, they went out their way to help with our missing lad. There is a reception that will get milk and papers for the morning on request and only sell a couple drinks. The pitches most of which were on a slope some more than others but with slabs and wood around to help people jack up their units. The site is really peaceful only slight traffic noise but not enough to bother anyone. some pitches had a lovely view across the water. There is a lovely walk down to Bucks Mill but quite a steep trek. There is a dog walk field and a recreation field for the kids, no playing ball around the pitches which may be a little awkward for people with little ones. There is a toilet block which I must say was spotless the showers were great. The laundry I didnt use but I was told was £2.50 for the dryer which you could only get from reception, but only open 8.30 - 10.30 and 4.30 to 6.30. All in all I would recommend the site to anyone

We booked into this site for 2 nights, with an intention of perhaps staying 4 nights. But in the end, we stayed for 6. This was due partly to the quality of the site - amply described by the previous reviewers and partly to the attractions of the area. From our point of view, the site meets any possible requirement we might have. Pitches are spacious and mostly scenic (some sea views), the site is very accessible yet near the coast path for walking, facilities are extensive and immaculately kept, the showers are free and fully adjustable, the owners are friendly and seem genuinely keen to ensure campers have excellent value for money. Even though we don't have a dog, we enjoyed a stroll in the dog exercise field, which has been planted with lots of trees and was kept mown. From what we saw, most dog owners just took theirs onto the woodland walks around, or down to the nearby Bucks Mill cove. We assume the owners have an agreement about behaviour of dogs on site, since all were on leads and we weren't disturbed by any barking - or any other noise, except distant traffic sounds and tweeting birds! The children's field had lots of equipment in it, including a goal post, with separate areas for small children to play in. In the surrounding area are some lovely country pubs and beautiful country houses and gardens. A two-hour walk from the site takes you down into Clovelly (bypassing the Visitor Centre entrance) The only down side is the steep walk back up to the site. Make sure you've got a cold drink waiting!

This is a really nice campsite. We stayed over the Whitsun bank holiday. Even though the weather was wet and windy the pitch was well drained and sheltered. There are two toilet blocks, one new and kept immaculate, the showers cubicles were spacious and the water hot, we did not queue, the other block is older but still very clean. There is a laundry room which we did not use and an indoor area for washing up.
The owners are welcoming, very pleasant and helpful. The site has great coastal and countryside views. There is a dog walking field (dogs must be kept on lead on campsite but can run in the field) and a playing field for ball games.
You can hear some noise from the main road but it was not loud enough to disturb us. All in all a lovely campsite which we will visit again.

We have just returned from a week camping here (in all the horrific weather!). Great value for money. Owners exceptionally welcome and helpful. Toilets immaculate and lots of hot water. Pitches are a generous size. Our tent is on the large side (Outwell Nebraska XL)and it fitted no problems. If you want an easy to reach site with great access to both North Devon and North Cornwall, this is the one. Cannot rate this enough, will definitely be returning here. Although I probably should be keeping it a secret!

We have just returned from a great holiday at this site. It is all you need, a lovely clean, flat and good size pitches. The toilet and shower block are new and great. Great views of the sea and the owners are very helpful. It is so nice we have booked for next year.

We came across this site by accident, but we really enjoyed our night there. The owners were friendly and helpful, there was a great view over Bideford Bay and there was ample room on the grass pitches. The new toilet/shower block was fantastic and the cost for the night wasn't extortionate. Definitely worth a visit.

I absolutely loved staying here. The views are spectacular, as previously mentioned - the whole of Bideford Bay is spread out in front of you. The site is terraced, so the views are pretty much un-interrupted. This is a great feature of this site- I'd much rather look at the sea when I poke my head out of a tent than look at other tents! The owners are very friendly and sold us some good strong pegs which could deal with the shale we were attempting to pitch our tent on - our regular pegs buckled straight away - be warned! The walk down to the beach is steep but worth it and in the evenings rabbits can be seen in the meadow by the campsite. This is one of the nicest and most peaceful sites I have stayed on - I would love to go back.
