I loved this campsite.
The staff were very friendly, the site was very clean and tidy and the location was just right.
It's nice to be proved right that you don't need a load of in-your-face signage telling you how to behave or what not to do. Thank you Dolbeare for treating us like adults and still maintaining a great site.
There are a lot of excellent pubs in the area, including pubs that we wouldn't have visited without the site owner's personal reviews.
We will be back.

We had a lovely stay. We were put opposite the children's area and the only bit that spoilt the holiday was the 'helpful' parents who provided their kids with torches for their heads so they could stay over at the play area until well past most kids bedtimes. Had a wonderful meal at The Hayloft which is just a few miles down the road. Went to several local attractions and found the campsite very handy for them all. Overall we were very pleased with the facilities on site. This was our second visit and we will be back again.
Only one small addition, in all the years caravanning we have never had to pay (£10 each van) to make sure we parked next to our daughters caravan. Otherwise, clean site and friendly staff.

This is a really nice site very handy for Plymouth not been there for some time and forgotten how good it is.
We were located opposite the kids playground which was Ideal with a 3 and 7 year old they loved this with all the other nice kids a very child friendly site.
The toilet blocks are excellent and clean.
The staff are all supper friendly and helpful.
Price is very reasonable considering the great facilities

Stayed here for a week in August. We had prebooked an early arrival so after pitching the caravan headed down the road to the American dinner Route 38, recommended for breakfast. Site very well kept and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. A little concerned on arrival that there was only 2 male showers and 2 female showers, however as we get up early and was always in the shower before 8am we never had to queue. There was however also a disabled/family shower room. There was a nice wooden play area for young children along with giant chess(How many parents can you count trying to teach 5-8yr olds how to play !) and connect 4 that were all very popular with the kids. Another nice touch was a large paddock with football goals, many nights there was an organised rounders match for those that wanted to join in. The site was not full most nights surprisingly considering we were in the height of the season. Some noise early in the morning from the nearby dog kennels. We used 2 of the local pubs for food, the Notter Bridge Inn which which was a short drive away and had reasonable food, we much preferred the Bullers Inn which was approx 1 mile walk down the lane, highly recommended for lovely homecooked food, reasonably priced. Waitrose was approx 3 miles away for provisions and B&M bargains behind Waitrose for anything else that you may require. No where within walking distance for a daily newspaper. We tried 3 of the local beaches but preferred Seatton overall. Pitches could have been a little more generous as we felt our neighbours were a little close.

Summary – Very Good camp site, great value for winter breaks using evergreen deal.
We stayed here in a caravan for 7 nights, ours friends stayed for 3 nights with a motor home. Very friendly owners, well laid out site making it easy to manoeuvre caravans etc. Excellent facilities block with piped 'Pirate FM', ideal so no one can hear your embarrassing noises.
We were lucky with the weather and had some lovely walks both from the site and with a short drive to the start. We had meals in the Bullers Arms Landrake (Easy 20 Min Walk -Very Good) and at the Notter Bridge Inn (Good).
A good site for exploring East Cornwall and the Tamar Valley. The information hut is very well stocked.
My only criticism is the dog walk which is very disappointing.

Our second (and certainly not our last) visit to Dolbeare.
After a dismal start to our break at another site we decided to go to Dolbeare where we had stayed in April. We were greeted by friendly staff who could not do enough for us and immaculate facilities. Unlike most sites when Dolbeare says it's open all year all of it's facilities are open (no locked toilets, shower cubicles or lack of heating).
The only thing to say about this site is that by a country mile it's the best site that we have stayed at.

We used this site to visit friends for a weekend. It was a lovely little site, with very helpful and friendly staff and beautifully maintained facilities. We were pitched near the play area as we had children which I thought was very considerate. On arrival we were shown to our pitch and the staff were able to recommend local eateries and places of interest. The surrounding area is beautiful and we will go back as we didn't stay long enough! There was also a security barrier which is a nice safety feature.

This was our second camping trip. The staff were all very helpful and made you feel at home the moment we stepped in. They have a welcome tea for us which I didn't really expect.
The place is really clean with complete amenities. A convenience shop is just there in the entrance but there is also a grocery store not too far away for those last minute decisions of having a barbecue.
I would highly recommend this place and we would definitely come back again for another visit soon.

Lovely quiet site with clean and well maintained facilities. No problems or extra charges for our large tent 5m x 7m. The 9 acres is divided into two, with half gravel track and hard standing for caravans and motorhomes and the other open field for tents. There is also a paddock for ball games away from tents and caravans. We enjoyed our visit with the only downside being the weather ( don't think site owners can help that). Even though only 5 miles into Cornwall, the site is well sited for day trips etc. My kids have really enjoyed the site and having all the kids play together. We will be coming again.

We have recently returned from a week at Dolbeare over the Easter holidays and were very impressed with this site. We received a warm welcome from the site owners Chris and Ian when we arrived and we were able to choose a pitch near to the children's play area. We were also near the paddock field which had a couple of goal posts which was great for our two football mad boys.
The site was quiet and very relaxing and deserving of its 5 star status. The toilet block was immaculate with underfloor heating and modern showers. We had access to one of the family bathrooms which was ideal when showering the children. All facilities were excellent. There was even a drying cupboard with radiator, handy for drying clothes and towels as it was extremely cold when we were there.
On Easter Sunday the site owners organised an Easter egg hunt for the kids and they all got an Easter egg. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they were extremely helpful - we even decided to stay on a couple of extra days as it was so relaxing.
There were lots of places to visit that the kids loved; rockpooling at Seaton and Cawsand beaches; the National aquarium at Plymouth; the Life centre pool where they filmed Splash and in Plymouth there was a great complex at the Barbican with a multiscreen cinema and lots of restaurants which the kids enjoyed when it was too cold to do much else.
Nice restaurants by the harbour as well. There is a handy Waitrose a few miles from the campsite on the way to Saltash by the services. Although you are in the countryside you are not far from all amenities.
We would definitely recommend this site which is in a very convenient location for Devon/Cornwall border and hope to visit again.
