Easy to find I had no problems towing my large unit along some of the narrow lanes.
Very friendly greeting from reception and was shown to our pitch.
Good sized grass pitch reasonably level. Mixture of caravans and tents.
Had to use external aerial to get a tv signal, no mobile signal, they do have wifi at a price.
Toilet and shower block clean and plentiful
Hair drying room which the wife and kids loved, also a laundry room.
Enclosed playground for the kids & large grass area for ball games etc.
Site is located well for all the beaches only a short drive and private car parking around £4 for the day.
I must add that although the site was busy it was extremely quiet & peaceful all the time and very relaxing.
On site shop which sold all the essentials(reasonable prices) the nearest supermarket is at Padstow a good drive away.
There is a pub on site but we didn't use this so cannot commented on it.
Nice walks along the coastal path and as stated in previous reviews the beach is down a steep hill along a narrow road about 20 min walk, there is a council run car park next to the beach this costs about €1. 30hr free after 5pm.
Really enjoyed our week here and would definitely recommend this site.

We spent a week on this Site during June. It is a medium sized site which has Tourers, Statics and a few Chalets.
The Pros
The Wardon could not have been more helpful, showing us to our pitch on arrival and informing us of all the usual facilities, etc.
Very clean toilet/shower facilities.
Well stocked on-site shop
Bar and Restaurant, which I cannot comment on as we did not use during our stay.
No Skateboard/roller blade policy - this made for a quiet, relaxing week!
Children's play area, but far enough from units as not to cause a nuisance.
Lovely countryside views.
Pub at end of lane - we ate here once during our stay and it was very nice.
Porthcothan Bay is beautiful and dog friendly. It is approx a 20 minute walk away, but be warned, it is down a steep bank. However, there is a car park at the bottom should you prefer to take the car.
The Cons.
Narrow lanes on approach to Site. We had our caravan damaged by a tractor/trailer unit that did not stop!
Rather a lot of seasonal caravans on the site. We are not really keen on this, but it may not bother some people.
Pitches could be a bit larger.
As you can see, for us, there are a lot more pro's than con's. If the approach roads were wider we would definitely visit this Site again.

Stayed here for 1 night while touring Cornwall. Great campsite. Large pitches and clean area. Went out of season so nice and quiet. Great play area if you have kids and large dog walking area for those with dogs. Layout of site is easy to follow. No probs with the electric etc. Cleaning area (pots/pans as well as showers and toilets are spot on) About 6 male showers, which may be a pain in peak season, but fine out of season.
Great walk to a bay & beach - takes about 20 mins straight from the campsite. Bit of a long windy lane to get down in order to get to the site so need to cross fingers and hope don't meet people along the way (there are passing places though). Great base if visiting Padstow as only a few mins drive from the town.
Will stay again next year when touring

We stayed at this site for the first time last summer (July 2012), and have returned four times since then, staying twice in a chalet (lush!), once in a static (lovely!) and again this summer for 16 nights in a tent (fab/glamp!).
The owners are very warm and welcoming, and bend over backwards to ensure your stay is comfortable.
The washing/toilet facilities are excellent – innumerable showers and toilets which are kept very clean (must be several checks and cleans per day), and there is ALWAYS plenty of hot water, toilet paper and soap. I have never had to wait for a shower.
There is a separate family bathroom with coded door and also a wet room with toilet, hand basin and shower in one of the ladies shower areas.
The site has good, spacious, level touring pitches (when tenting, we have EHU), which are well maintained and mown, and well defined (easy to tell where your pitch ends and the next begins!).
There are fantastic laundry facilities – three good washing machines and two large, efficient tumble dryers - with magazines and free book exchange to while away the time whilst waiting!
There is a small hair styling room equipped with two good quality hair dryers, one set of straighteners and two hair washing sinks with shower attachments. This area does get very busy during peak times (mainly due to teenagers!), but I’ve never found this a major problem.
There is a brilliant indoor washing up area with about 8 sinks and draining boards and plenty of hot water, which we’ve never had to queue for.
The on-site shop, although small, is the best stocked of any camp site I have stayed at, and the on-site pub (open during peak periods) serves a good selection of ales, lagers etc. , as well as well-cooked, well-priced food (nothing fancy, but perfect for family dining). There is also a pub ‘The Tredrea Inn’ less than a five minute walk away, which seems to be always open!
We don’t have young children, but there is a large, well maintained play area on the edge of the site, and beyond that, a huge field with football goals for children/adults/dogs to roam, and plenty of bins for dog waste.
In addition to this, there are lovely cliff top walks leading from the campsite and its adjacent fields down to Porthcothan, Treyarnon and beyond.
All in all, this is a great camp site. We love it and will keep returning.
Thanks, keep up the good work !

Another lovely visit to Carnevas, although the weather was disappointing meeting up with old friends and making new ones, at this very friendly site, made this a most enjoyable holiday. Well cook food in the bar, immaculate toilet and shower facilities and a well stocked shop and bar add to the experience. Free hair washing and drying room, pot washing and laundry rooms also available. Outdoor shower for washing surfing equipment. A super neighbour who helped to erect the awning (thanks Bob). The owners and all their staff are very helpful. Good walks for humans and dogs and the neighbouring beach (Porthcothan) is dog friendly

Stayed here just before half term. Great location and easy to find on the sat nav. Campsite has been very well designed with nice spacious pitches. Warden v friendly and helpful. Some great walks to the bays and beaches (too far to walk to padstow though. Unless you are a hardcore walker). Nice sunset on the beach/bay 10mins walk away. Toilet blocks were great. Very clean and good number of showers. Our elect tripped twice while we tried to boil the kettle, but we had the heating, lights and TV on at the same time. May have been a faulty switch but only took 2 seconds to flip the fuse switch again. Great site for a base to explore the area. Would deff return

We stopped here for 3 nights in a campervan with EHU and our friend put his tent on the same pitch for no extra, then we had 2 campervans of friends join us for the last two days of our stay.
We were a bit late arriving but there are clear instructions as to where to go, and a very helpful gentleman showed us to our very spacious and clearly marked out pitch. The woman in the office when I went up to pay the next day was incredibly friendly and helpful. She had to come and politely tell us to turn our music down at 10pm due to complaints, but we were so full of rum by then it was bedtime anyway.
The pub at the end of the road is not as close as I thought it was on the way in! Also a bit pricey, and the food was pretty awful so I'd say avoid and cook yourself some beans on toast.
This site isn't as close to Padstow as I'd imagined, but that's my fault for not researching properly - be aware that unless you want a long walk, you will need transportation (and a designated driver). Lots of info about bus routes at the office but my concentration span wasn't up to it.
Site shop closed until May, but the bar opened while we were there and my husband took his guitar up and entertained the fabulous clientèle and got paid in mini eggs. Brilliant night, would definitely return if in the area again.
Toilets clean and well lit, good showers and a decent washing up area.

Stayed here for a week and overall we enjoyed the site. We chose this site due to its close proximity to a dog friendly beach, coastal walk and a pub.
Friendly/helpful welcome on arrival.
The site is spread out with the caravans and tourers with EHU at the entrance end near to reception/shop/bar with toilet blocks etc in the middle. Tents are further down the site and out into the large camping field where pitching is generally more relaxed and generous.
Our pitch size was large enough to accommodate a day tent alongside.
Shop was well stocked - licensed and newspapers. Take out food available at the bar. The local pub at the end of the lane, Tredrea Inn serves food and good local beers. Lovely views from the garden.
We did lots of walking along the coast and would recommend Bedruthan steps for the views and along to Treyarnon bay - YHA cafe does lovely food and is licensed.
2 ways to get down to the beach, walk down narrow road but would advise care with dogs/children as you need to watch the traffic or take the coastal path which takes you directly onto the beach and gives stunning views.
There is kids pay area with a football pitch so plenty of room for kids to run around on site away from other campers. Dog bins provided on site and handy cut through from lane to avoid going long way round past reception.
My only moan would be about the state of the toilet blocks as the day progressed - sand and mess everywhere meaning you had to clean the shower before you got in it, not so bad in the cubicles without fixed showers heads but impossible in the others and no mops/buckets available.

We have been visiting this site with family for several years. We camp without electric hook up but the site does have pitches with electric hook up. It is a lovely site with good, clean facilities. There are plenty of free showers and good facilities for washing up.
There are two camping fields that have a slope but we don't find this to be a problem. We prefer to be in these fields rather than close to the facilities as it is quieter. There is a playground which our two year old son enjoyed.
The site is located close to Porthcothan Bay. We walk to the beach but be aware that the path takes you along a road with no pavement.
Close to the site there is a lovely tea room called Berryfields and a pub with amazing views over Porthcothan Bay, perfect for a drink after a day on the beach. You can access coastal walks easily from the site.

This was our first camping trip and we chose our campsite well!
The site had all the usual facilities you’d expect and also had a laundry, dishwashing room and even a hair drying room (for the wife!) - all were very well cared for and clean. The showers usually had hot water - although once or twice ran cold at busy times.
We had a pitch with an electrical hook-up so were located reasonably close to all the facilities. Some of the other pitches did seem a bit remote - we noticed quite a few people driving to the loos from other parts of the site.
Walking around the site we did spot one or two areas that were a bit boggy underfoot - given this years awful summer that's not really surprising.
The on site shop was very well stocked and the staff very helpful. The prices were not particularly high either. The Jolly Roger bar on site served reasonable food at good prices and the staff were friendly and helpful. The nearest supermarket is Tescos at Padstow (approx 4 miles) - no Petrol station though.
The site was very well located for Porthcothan beach, a short downhill walk away, which was really fantastic.
The kids play area was OK for young kids but could do with more kit for 6-10 year olds - the zip wire needed oiling too!
We visited between 14th - 21st July which meant we missed the peak holiday period. I would imagine that the site gets very busy once the holidays start with a vengeance. It was filling up fast as we were leaving.
All in all this was a really well cared for, good value site and we will use it again.
