An excellent small, quiet site located close to York city centre. Close to an A-road but no road noise. Good facilities, though shop stock limited and no bar / cafe. The Nags Head at Askham Bryan is about 2km down a quiet road - dog friendly and excellent food and beer.
The games room has a number of games machines, but most switched off or not operational (?) - small pool table and table football were working. Ablution facilities reasonable, if limited. One washing machine and one drier, but they were available when needed.
Other facilities include a 5-aside football pitch and picnic area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall we wished we had booked for longer.

Lovely site, clean and well maintained. Play park for the kids with basket swing and normal swings, small playframe with slide and a small obstacle course.
Toilets and showers clean with a fold down seat in shower to redress more easily and hairdryer in the female side.
Games room for older kids is good with ping pong (20p for a ball, bats provided) 50p for a game of pool, had comfy armchairs and sofa with tv too.
Took grandma too who stayed in one of the glamping pods. Billed as up to 4 people. A pull down double with a single bunk and a single made from 2 seats. Pod had a small kitchenette but no oven just a microwave and 2 gas rings.
Bathroom was nice and shower great. She was comfortable as a single occupancy plus an 11yr old the odd night, not sure if it's roomy enough for 4 though. Had a lovely decking area to sit on.
Site close to park and ride so easy to get to York.

Lovely little site which is very well maintained. Jenny went out of her way to give me some marg as they had sold the last butter earlier in the day.
Due to car troubles I had to extend my stay and it was a nightmare dealing with repair place, Green flag and the car dealership. But Nicola could see how stressed I was and went through my options.
Thank you so much for making me feel so at home here. I WILL be back x

I stayed at the site for one night.
The facilities were clean and warm.
The whole feel of the site was like being on holiday in the forest.
I loved it. Thank you. Xx

Excellent location for York Races.
Friendly and helpful staff. All facilities close by.
Excellent pub (Nags Head) within 20 minutes stroll. Shops and takeaways only a short drive away.
Only down side, like many places at the moment, no gas bottles for sale.

We received a cheery welcome from our hosts at reception and were shown where to find our pitch.
It is a lovely sheltered site with certain amount of segregation between pitches.
The facilities are clean and effective and the only fault I could find was that the toilets could do with being a little further forward as the seats won’t stay up when you have a pee!
So really nothing to complain about and a great site in every way at a decent price.
We will be back next year as we stayed for the Ebor race meeting and a bus stop into York can be reached in less than 15 minutes.
Perfect

This is an excellent campsite for visiting York.
The site is spotlessly clean, very quiet and has spacious flat pitches.
Pricing at £25 per night, including electricity is very reasonable, considering the proximity to the city centre.
The staff are friendly and helpful, plus there is a good bus service into York nearby.
All in all a great stay and we will definitely return here when we next visit this area. 👍👍👍

Lovely quiet site among pine trees; receptionist was brilliant - caring and helpful and so pleasant.
Shop on site good. Used local buses to go to York; nice 15 minute walk to bus stop and buses very frequent.
Would be happy to go again. Noticed many other visitors were repeat guests. Says it all, really! Well done.
